Drawing 100 Faces, Face 4 - Value Study in Graphite - Drawing and Chatting About Mental Health
Were drawing 100 portraits! 100 graphite value studies to be exact. I drew the first 3 in this sketchbook and knew I had to start sharing them. I heard someone mention the 100 head challenge but when I looked it up, it seemed to fast paced for me. This is my version I'm calling "Drawing 100 Faces."
If you don't already know, this is a self portrait. The reference for this illustration is a photo of me in 2012 (20yo me). Doing this study brought up a lot of emotions surrounding being an artist. The girl in this photo wouldn't believe I call myself an artist now... and were actually pretty good at it! Not all of these videos will be a therapy session but this one defiantly put me in my feels.

Sketchbook Session 4 | Draw and Chat | Coloring Fruit And Talking About Being A Fulltime Artist 🍓🥑🍒
มุมมอง 36914 วันที่ผ่านมา
I needed something fun and easy going... so we're coloring fruit! After my last video, I started practicing in my smaller sketchbook on some value studies (very detailed, time consuming studies) and it was a lot. I also just missed my markers! Aside from being burnt out by studying art, I'm preparing for an interview at my corporate job. This naturally brought up some thoughts of being a fullti...
Sketchbook Session 3 | Draw and Chat | Working on not overworking - Jam in the sitting room 📚🖤
มุมมอง 137หลายเดือนก่อน
Creating a new character with a full background. I don't always put backgrounds in my illustrations because they can be intimidating. Creating the reference before hand was really helpful. I tried to focus on not overworking the color in the face and not doing too much when it comes to the background. I did overwork the face a bit but I ended up with something I liked. The background might have...
Sketchbook Session 2 | Draw and Chat | Starting a new sketchbook and stressing myself out 🙄😆
มุมมอง 105หลายเดือนก่อน
New sketchbook and talking about how easy it is to stress out unnecessarily when it comes to making art. Art is supposed to be fun and stress RELEAVING not stress inducing. There's no rules when it comes to art. There's no need to hold yourself back with expectations. Don't expect everything you make to be pretty. The only way to improve is to push yourself and make ugly art. It's arguably impo...
Sketchbook Session 1 | Draw and Chat | Drawing My Rescue Kitten In A Tulip

My first sketchbook session! Also story time about how I ended up with an 8 day old kitten. I wanted to make a piece to remember the past few weeks. It's been a crazy month with her but we made it through. I wanted to make something with spring vibes and the first thing that came to mind was spring flowers. The proportions may be a little off so we're going to call this one surrealism 😁 Honestl...
My First Sketchbook Tour! - Trust the process - Watch my art transform in under a year

I decided to pick up art again in June of 2023 and it wasn't pretty... at first. I stayed consistent and continued to push myself until I was able to create art that I was proud of! . I fought a lot of art block to get where I am today. I got really discouraged every time I created something that didn't look the way I wanted it to. I by no means claim to be an amazing artist but I'm at a place ...
