      Absolutely love Rhino. I've got their Komet 2 and it's on par with this JFlowers BRKR. So my question to JFlowers remains...if you're going to increase the price what have you done to justify it. Basically because there's companies out there like Rhino that will ofer very similar products for much cheaper.

    Before getting into the details, I want to say a big thanks to HereAfter Billiards for great content. The channel has helped me make pretty sound decisions on pool equipment. I took a similar journey in recent cues, starting with J. Flowers and then moving into Rhino. I think I went that route mostly because I agree that a lot of cues as of late are quite pricey. I am not entirely convinced that you need to sink thousands of dollars into this game - at least from a league player's perspective. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Komet II as a gift. Even though Andreas gave a stellar review, I wasn't expecting to have more than a basic reaction to its performance. I broke with the cue and it simply felt great. Then, I tried a few more times and dropped the 8. After a few more breaks, I looked at the cue in disbelief because it made me enjoy the break a bit more. A few of my teammates were also impressed. One of them recently made the purchase after a night of testing. We agreed that the hits were solid. The table spread was nice. Didn't require a lot of power. It was fun to focus on the snap of the delivery vs. a hammer method. Overall, I was more consistent in sinking at least one ball on the break. I am now well over 100 breaks with the cue and I have no complaints. I think it's a great alternative to the higher-end break cues out there. Lastly, as for what Rhino brings to the market, I like how they present their cues online. I think they showcase the cues slightly better than their competitors. Good product display in both photo and video. I also have an extra playing shaft and Nebula 2. Just wanted to share my positive experience. Keep up the great work!

    The advantage to pro taoer is very apparent when playing on 9 ft tables. The drastic difference in conical taper or even a taper like the revo drives me crazy. The reason i found my self watching this video is because I have a P3 with a revo and hate the taper. Have tried cynergy and had significantly more deflection. Tried Jacoby and it's pretty damn good. Im tempted to try this smo to see if it bests the jacoby.

    Just got the JFlowers SMO and I had a Revo before. For anybody wondering if it is Lower deflection than the Revo, it is slightly and it is definitely noticeable, which I love. Ive now switched all of my cues to JFlowers including Break and Jump Cue 😎🎱

      @HereAfterBilliards 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can't go wrong with a JFlowers Cue. 💪👍 I had to retreat from the SMO...I couldn't wrap my hear around the deflection factor. So weird. Still hit with a low deflection CF shaft...just not as extreme as the SMO

    • @MagicMikeBilliards
      @MagicMikeBilliards 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Haha that’s interesting I’m trying to minimize the deflection in this cue as much as humanly possible so I took the weight bolt out of the butt and the small weight bolt out of the shaft so the cue weight is 17.2oz and I’m going to put a tiger sniper tip on it right now and I think that will be a pretty solid combination for the lowest deflection cue at 12.5 mm 👌🏼

    Hello, could you please provide a comparison between rhino and jf classic carbon shaft. Thanks so much

    • @HereAfterBilliards
      @HereAfterBilliards 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In my experience the JFlowers Classic Carbon Fiber and the Rhino Carbon Fiber hit very similarly deflection wise. The main difference right now will be in the tip. The JFlowers still comes with a Moori Medium which is questionable choice IMO. The Rhino comes with their propriatary Time Crystal Tip they make in house... As of right now that tip also is questionable however in the new year Rhino has big plans so stay tuned. So as of right now you can't go wrong with either brand and their prices for the quality are second to none. Just replace their tips with something you prefer. The JFlowers SMO however is a completely different hit. Very low deflection depending on the length of your bridge hand.

    • @HereAfterBilliards
      @HereAfterBilliards 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Nope and to this day they don't do an extension ready bumper with their Cues. I've got their 8" now that matches the Retro I have but obviously that's too large to play with full time. Certainly it's an area they can expand into with varying extension sizes.

    • @USMCKoontz
      @USMCKoontz 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ is there a 2 or 3 inch extension that works with it? I don’t need a bumper since I always play with a small one but it would be nice to not have to swap bumper out every time I play

    • @HereAfterBilliards
      @HereAfterBilliards 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@USMCKoontz I'll probably have an answer for you in just over a week. I think a JFlowers bumper will thread into the Rhino butt. I'll get the bumper in a little bit. The JFlowers extension pin is different from the Rhino pin so the Rhino bumper won't work with the JFlowers 3"

If not than whats the relevance of the cue? When you weighed the two shafts the smo weighed more coming in at 3.3 ounces vs 2.7 on the classic, which you said the smo was lighter. Wondering how the smo is lighter

      This is the debate. There literally are companies that just sell shafts. They'll have many different pin configurations and just sell shafts. In my opinion the most important aspects to a cue are the shaft and then the tip. Lagging behind is the joint. I personally believe that the butt is very inconsequential. For example I shoot with a Rhino cue now. The butt of my cue isn't even wood... Its composite. I don't feel the difference. If I was you I wouldn't get caught up in the numbers. I did that because that's what reviewers do. What a more significant thing to concern yourself with is understanding your game and your tendencies. If you understand those things you'll know which product is right for you.

      @@HereAfterBilliards After watching your review and furthering my research I'm leaning towards the Dante 2 with white lizard, SMO shaft and Taom Pro Medium Tip (Not sure of the fusion since it's medium/hard), 12.5 tip, 19.5 oz. @@flaron352 Thanks my friend🔥👍Coincidentally I use the Taom Medium Pro right now and love it. After a month and a half I'm not seeing any mushrooming or compression (but I'm sure it's on it way). Before that I had a Taom Pro Soft and while I felt I could shape the cue ball well, I just couldn't handle the loss in power on my medium to long range shots. Happy shopping 🔥👍💪Enjoy the new equipment.

    How is the sound of the hit and the feel?

    • @HereAfterBilliards
      @HereAfterBilliards หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's very much tip dependant. I can't tell the difference between the composite and the traditional wood hit which is a good thing. If you drop the butt of the cue onto the bumper you'll hear it to be a little higher of a sound but the Rhino also has a harder bumper than other cues. Overall I can't say enough about it. I still use it to this day👍

    • @HereAfterBilliards
      @HereAfterBilliards หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean all these shafts are so close now. I don't think you can really differentiate and say one has less than another by a fair margin. Even depending on the length of your bridge from the end of the shaft will affect deflection. Just experiment and see if you like the feel👍

      @@HereAfterBilliards yeah I think the SMO is great but I think for me I like the bigger shafts. 12.75 and 12.9 but it could just be all in my head lol. Haven’t seen many reviews on the crown in 12.9 so wondering whether to try it out or go with a Revo

    • @HereAfterBilliards
      @HereAfterBilliards หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@USMCKoontz No it's not in your head. Larger diameter shafts introduce a larger margin of error in regards to unintended side spin. Its a real thing. One way of testing this is going down to an 11.8mm shaft. I can tell you're like me...I hated it but it also exposed some weaknesses in my stroke that I could work on.

    I’m not a fan of the cue extension all the time. I feel it’s a little to much weight hanging off the back but when I got my cue it came with an assortment of weights. It was around 18.5 ounces with no weights in it. I added a 1 oz weight and screwed it all the way into the butt then took a .8 oz bolt and screwed it in just enough to screw my but cap all the way In and to me it makes the cue super smooth and has the weight to where it feels like the cue does most of the work and it’s very balanced to me where I put my hands at. I could see my self swapping to a cue extention if I was more active on 9ft tables but unfortunately I live in bar box country so the extreme weight hanging off the back just doesn’t work for me with a lot of the little shots on a bar box. But if you ever get bored and have the ability to with your cue you should try to spread the weight bolts out like that. Basically as far apart as you can get them in the butt and it has the same smooth feel as the cue extension but just doesn’t have the extreme weight hanging off the back on most bar box shots.

    • @HereAfterBilliards
      @HereAfterBilliards หลายเดือนก่อน

      Crazy that you posted this comment because I actually went away from using the extension in the summer as I joined a bar box summer league team on 7 foots. You're totally right...its too much cue for that size of table. Now I'm playing on the 9 foots in a fall league and I've been thinking of going the weight bolt route. The Rhino Retro Cue I use now does have a weight bolt option so I think I'll try it soon. Cheers for commenting💯👍

    • @joshuacraft2275
      @joshuacraft2275 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ yea I do believe the back end heavier cue does give a straighter stroke for sure. I assume my cue is 20.3ish ounces. So I went 1 oz all the way in the front to kinda offset the carbon fiber shaft and .8 oz in the back. I had to screw it in about 3 inches or so because of the screw in butt cap but to me that’s the closest I could get to that same stroke feel without adding the extention. It felt great immediately tbh. Even on the 9ft now I just keep a 4” extention on my pocket while I’m playing I do put it on for like long straight ish follow shots and stuff but for the most part I just use the normal cue only.

    I have the 1st komet and will stick with it because the league i play in just use bar box tables and does the job. I am curious about the new shaft but worry the bakelite tip will dent up the cue ball?

    • @HereAfterBilliards
      @HereAfterBilliards หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think Bakelite will do that. It's roughly the same hardness as phoenolic tips and no cue balls are being damaged with that. Here's what the internet says... "No, Bakelite is unlikely to damage a cue ball because billiard balls are typically made from phenolic resin, which is tougher and more durable than polyester resin. In fact, Bakelite was the preferred material for pool balls in the 1920s, and even wealthy people switched to Bakelite balls when they needed to replace their ivory pool balls."
