Pukka M8 !
You haven't posted my many videos this year..
I know, sorry about that, life got in the way a bit this year 😔. Hoping to come back strong in 2025 though 😀
I'll be adding the HP and creamed horseradish sauces to my next one. Very nice.
Nice! You won’t regret it 😋
We never saw the doneness of the interior of the roast.
th-cam.com/video/HPTHta31Mxk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5M8jUTazxU9qmNcs
Way too much salt 🙄
You get that this is a recipe, and you’re encouraged to season to taste, right?
Salty and dry
Far to much salt and thers also salt in stock and more salt in the cheese
Well, the idea is you’d season to taste so you can make it as bland and under-seasoned as you’d like 🙂
Would you please consider an episode on simple centre cut pork loin roast supper. Roughly 1.4 Kg. Beef is very expensive here in Canada. Thks.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will add it to the list! 😋
Bloody delicious, going to do it this week, was looking for the extra ingredients to kick it up.HP and Horseradish are brilliant, thanks for the vid.
Making it today for Thanksgiving in the USA❤
Happy thanksgiving! Hope you enjoy 😋
I need to try this but it makes me nervous 😂
Go for it! What’s the worst that can happen? 😅
You're back! And with a cracking British dish and sauce. Love your videos and style. Thank you for taking the time to put them together. Always learn something.
Thank you for the kind comment! Glad you like the videos 😊
Love mushy peas Ross . Back in the day fantastic pie and pea cafe in Bradford Market called Pie Tom's. Boiled black pudding in bottom of dish spread with en glish mustard (optional) with pork pie on top then the mushy peas with mint sauce made with malt vinegar . Glass of Tizer to wash it down , yum yum . Very popular place and was always a queue outside to get in . I regularly make pie and peas for easy tea and of course always on Bonfire night . Best wishes from Bradford
Wow, that sounds amazing! Best wishes to you too 🙂
Just what I was looking for: a clear, no fuss method for a Top Rump roast. 👍
Thanks rosss🎉👋👍😜
Very good job!
Thanks 😊
I add a couple of mashed anchovies to the sauce.
Good shout, I bet that works really well 😋
Looks delicious.❤
Watching from Ontario, Canada🍁 Spot on Mate!
Thanks! 🤩
Love this recipe Ross! Will try this tonight, thank you so much 🌹
Hope you enjoyed it! 😋
😊😊😊
I’m late in the day to comment on this demonstration on how to cook a beef joint. However my joint turned out perfectly Thank you so much for your advice and tips it’s appreciated
Glad to hear it! 🙂
Love the little details you add to to so many steps along the way, and I quietly screamed "yes!" when you got the HP sauce out, that's my secret sauce, too! This looks absolutely lovely. Ever used some red wine with this? Thankyou, now I know what's for grub, today!
Thanks, glad you liked it! Red wine can work in here, but I’d adjust the other ingredients to account for the extra acidity and balance the flavours 🙂
You should do a video on making the perfect veg to go with roast dinners and the different ways we do it
That’s a great shout, thanks! Added to the list 🤩
I'm in California and I've never seen anything close to this and it's clearly going to be too sweet. In California, our UK/USA fusion is Tamale Pie with a side of refried beans and some chips and guacamole.
Now that sounds like something I’d enjoy! 😋
I'm in California and I've never seen anything close to this and it's clearly going to be too sweet. In California, you're more likely to see a very good Tamale Pie with a side of refried beans and some chips and guacamole.
This looks wonderful and earned my subscription. We're still enjoying 80F days in San Jose, but when the weather turns, I'm giving this one a try. When I need mashed potatoes (Russets, Yukon Gold, Red, etc.), I always steam rather than boil and never have to deal with watery or sticky potatoes. Uses less water, too, which is important in California.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it, it’s definitely one for cooler weather! Great tip on steaming rather than boiling 😊
Sorry, but this 7s taken frim the SCOTTISH SHEPARDS PIE. We got our lans rakwn from us by the wnfliah, dont rake our recipes too and change them Angey😡😡😡
What?
The best cottage pie recipe I have found! So comforting. Thank you! Delish. ❤
Thanks! Glad you like it 😋
So happy to find your channel. A new subscriber from Canada! I use Port with my TG and Christmas dinners. This year I found a "white port" by Taylor...delicious! Thanks for the Canadian maple syrup love!! Cheers!
Welcome, and thanks for subscribing! Port is an amazing addition, and White port is really versatile 🤩. Thanks for the Canadian maple syrup! As I say, if it’s not Canadian, it’s not the real deal! 🇨🇦🍁😋

Oooo Ive just cooked this, I’ve added the brown sauce like you said! Can’t wait to eat now
Hope you enjoyed it! 😋
Great recipe. Super delicious. Thank you.
Thanks, glad you liked it! 😋
Ross had to play four times to get the conventional oven F degrees
Ah apologies, I do put both Celsius and Fahrenheit temps in the recipe on the description, but maybe missed conventional oven for this one. I’ll take a look at it, thanks! ☺️
I won't be making that
I don’t blame you 😅
Shepherds pie is one of my absolute favourites. Looks delicious! Shepherds pie is actually thought to be a traditional Irish dish that originated in southern irish cottages in munster (hence the name cottage pie, also known as shepherds pie if sheep meat is used) which was brought to England from Ireland and became popularised in britain, which caused lots of people to think its british! There are a few arguments for it originating in britain, though it is believed to be irish. However, it's still very popular on both islands, so i guess both countries can claim this gorgeous dish! 🇮🇪❤️🇬🇧
Way too sweet. Give me a traditional cottage pie or shepherd’s pie any day, it’s a reflection of our culture.
Looks lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Well that is a real curve ball of a dish that's for sure...!... I like squash, but I just think it's too sweet for this as this is a savoury dish after all... You'll def have to work your magic to make it more palatable - Mash is potato mash after all please don't mess with perfection, and so good to see you back mate, missed ya and missing twin Ross too 🙂
It definitely is an odd one! Will have to see what I can do with it for sure 😋. Thanks, it’s good to be back 🥳
@@RossBamford Your challenge should you wish to accept it, is to try o improve the recipe somehow... If anyone can you can mate lol... Cheers Ross Cruise... ha ha 🤣😂
Will see what I can do 😅
Sorry, mate. Not for me. I had sweet potato chips with fish at the pub on Friday night. Never again
I can’t say I blame you. Sweet potato chips with fish is just messing with perfection!
No. That's just mental. Bin it.
If it were up to just me, it might’ve been a different result 😅
@@RossBamford Looks and sounds wrong for sure. Weirdest by the way.
lol good spot, thanks 😅🤦♂️
Hello stranger, Great to see you back!!
Thanks! It’s great to be back!
also, you should try and make 'Anicini'. apparently it's the worst cookie from around the world but it looks like bread to me
“The worst cookie” seems extreme, will definitely look into it, thanks! 🤩
omg it's ella!!!
actually its mae🤓☝🏼
@@quitz1234 HI
Hey mae
@@mae-m8vhey
Not sure I would make this one. Agree with you, squash is not food. One weird thing the west coast has that I thought I would hate but I actually love is Seattle does hot dogs with cream cheese on the bun and Sriracha on top. Sounds gross but it's amazing. Always entertaining watching you cook though!
Thanks, glad to know I’m not alone in my “squash is not food” stance 😅. I’ve had hot dogs like that before, I was surprised to find they’re actually really good 😋
As an East Coast American, we think anything coming out of California is a bit balmy. In fact, I’m surprised there wasn’t avocado in it somewhere. That being said, and my 40 year old son agrees with you about squash because as he says, “I have taste buds,” I often add sausage to my cottage pie. My tweaks to this recipe would be to leave out the cinnamon and make it more savory. Maybe a Vidalia onion and more garlic, or perhaps sage and smoky salt. Let us know what you come up with.
Wow, I hadn’t even considered the avocado, that’s definitely feels like a dodged bullet 😂. Glad it’s not just me who isn’t loving squash 😂 thanks for those suggestions, some great ideas there, will be keeping them in mind when it comes to improving the recipe 😋
I always add pearl onions to mine...cuz they look beautiful..lol
I love pearl onions, and am now wondering why I’ve never added them to a cottage pie before! 🤔
