The book with the most intriguing first chapter is the one I’ll finish reading for this vlog and share my final thoughts at the end! Hope you enjoy it!

มุมมอง 2952 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video, I’m sharing all of the books on my fall TBR. I decided to switch from a monthly TBR to a seasonal TBR, to allow more flexibility as a mood reader. I have so many highly-anticipated books on my fall TBR, and there’s something from romance, mystery/thriller, literary fiction, and (of course-it’s spooky season too!) horror. If you like the seasonal TBR idea, let me know! Thanks for ...

BOOKTUBE NEWBIE TAG | my first video for BookTube!
I really appreciate for your content ! would you please tell me whats your goal in this platform ?
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's so hard to lose a parent. I loved the layout of this video. I know you shouldn't judge things too early, but that first chapter of a book can really set the feeling for you, and I love those quick reviews/takes. I look forward to hearing your review of a few of other top contenders. Some have been on my list, too! I am very interested in starting some of the 'cozy mysteries' you've been recommending this fall - especially as I make my list and head to the library later today!
I'm so sorry for your loss friend. ❤This was a great video! I love try a chapter vlogs. I'm going to have to try the traveling cat chronicles.
I think you’d probably like TTCC! It’s such a sweet story. Bring tissues!!
Love your chickens! 🐓 The Traveling Cat Chronicles sounds like something I’d enjoy. I felt the same way about Remarkably Bright Creatures. I enjoyed What Moves the Dead. I’m a Poe fan, and I think it’s a good retelling of “The Fall of the House of Usher.” I’ve wanted to read The September House and The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires for awhile. I recently read Horrorstor. Loved this video, Laura. You always have fun ways of picking your books. I’m in awe that you can put on makeup while coherently talking about a book. I would have poked myself in the eye 👁️ or forgot I was talking about a book. 😂 Glad you enjoyed The Cat Chronicles. Big hugs! 🤗
Thank you, Kat!! I just finished up What Moves the Dead too, and I also enjoyed it and thought it was a great retelling of Poe. I’ve been to his home in Baltimore where he lived with his aunt and cousin/wife. Saw where they were buried in Baltimore too-it’s so surreal!
@ What an awesome adventure! I’d love to visit Poe’s house, and to see where he’s buried. I’d also like to visit his museum in Richmond, VA. I’m glad you enjoyed What Moves the Dead. I will reread it again whenever I get around to reading the sequel.
🧡🧡🧡🧀🧀🧀🍁🍁🍁
I’m real interested in “Gone for Gouda”. First, I love cheese. Second, I like cozy mysteries. Third, I’m interested because of your review of the first book. I loved the vlogging outdoors.
If you like cheese + cozy mystery, I think you’d love the series!! I love vlogging outdoors too-my other channel is mostly that! 💕 hope you’re doing well, friend!
@@Laura_ReadsI’m hanging in here. Dealing with the loss of my mom has been hard. I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family. 💜🙏🏾
@ oh that’s so tough, I’m so sorry for your loss!! Sending prayers to you and your family as well. 💕🙏🏻
Thank you for including GONE FOR GOUDA! I’m glad it intrigued you!
I’m SO behind in editing videos, but spoiler: The next vlog is ALL about reading Gone for Gouda and making one of the recipes! 💕🧀
@ oh wow! Can’t wait. Thank you!
Laura!! I wanted to ask you if you'd be interested in participating in a Booktuber Collaboration I am doing for Bookmas? I tried to find your email and couldn't or your IG but if you're interested, email or DM me!!
So thirsty and the September House sounds really good.
By the time I finished editing this vlog and positing it, I’ve finished The September House. That was the next one I picked up, and it was SO good. Haven’t read So Thirsty yet but I’m getting there! Thanks for watching. 💕
I liked this vlog, was cool to get your perspective on each book. I am so glad you loved The Traveling Cat Chronicles. It may be my most recommended book. It has so much heart but also hope. I am sending you the biggest hugs my sweet friend. I hope you enjoy every book you read this season and always. Love you big. <3
It will be one I recommend now too!! 🐈💕 so, so good. Love the way it ended and so many great lines that I want to remember. Thank you, my sweet friend. Love you too!!
This is very Heartwarming and very wonderful and very beautiful and very adorable and very helpful and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).
such a great tbr!! 🍁✨🫶🏼
Thank you!! 💕🎉
Hey Laura! the CHEESE SHOP!! One of my favorite cozy mystery series!!YEAH!! #TEAMCHEESE love Kristin Hannah! hope you enjoy all your reads!
Thanks so much!! 💕🧀🌾
You have a lot of good books on your list. I am also a sucker for any book set in MO!
I just started reading Clown in a Cornfield based on the fictional (I think?) MO town of Kettle Springs. The main character reminds me of my reaction when I first moved to our small MO town after living in the city/suburbs my whole life. Lol 😆
@@Laura_Reads 😂😂
The national parks map is so lovely! plus a lovely selection of tbr books to read over the next couple of months. Me and my partner have a fall anniversary too... definitely the best time of year!
I love that! Happy anniversary to you both!! 💕
I loved the song of Achilles but I put it in a lfl cause I wasn’t going to reread it. I also loved the Aristocats movie too!! I got it for Christmas on dvd for my portable DVD player. My grandparents took me out to get a movie and that was my pick
That’s so sweet! Aristocats is a classic for sure-excellent choice! 💕🐈
The Traveling Cat Chronicles is very sweet. You've picked out lots of great books for Autumn. 🍂🍁
I just finished Traveling Cat Chronicles-it broke my heart and filled it somehow at the same time. Beautiful story! 💕 thank you, Tammy!
I really enjoyed Gone for Gouda and the whole cheese shop series. I hope you enjoy it as well! The Fall books I'm most looking forward to are Bell, Book, and Corpses by TC LoTempio (Halloween themed) and In the Blink of a Pie by Catherine Bruns (Thanksgiving themed).
I started Gone for Gouda this weekend, and it’s good so far! Really feels like right back there with Willa and friends. 💕🧀 the Halloween and Thanksgiving themed cozies sound good too! I’ll have to look I into those. Thanks for sharing!
@@Laura_Reads Both of these series are favorites of mine and I recommend them. I'll let you know what I think of these new books. The Halloween one comes out at the end of this month so I will know about that one soon. It's vampire related too which is fun since this series isn't paranormal.
Bell, Book, and Corpses the vampire/Halloween themed cozy in the Nick and Nora mystery by TC LoTempio was fantastic! I just finished reading it and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole!
@@catreadsbooks thanks so much for the update!!
Thank you, Cat!
I wanted to read the September House ❤
I hope it’s a good one!!
Omg I also got “So Thirsty!” ❤
I think that’s a popular one this fall for sure!
I loved the Four Winds ❤
I can’t wait to read that one! I’ve heard I need to bring tissues 😢
I’m also reading T. Kingfischer for the first time also! 😊
Yay!!!
Now I’m hungry for cheese 😂
Oh my gosh… the way she describes the cozy settings and the cheeeeese in that book-makes my mouth water!
Yay for your fall tbr ❤
Hope you enjoy all your autumn reading.
Thanks so much! Same to you!
You’ve got some great books for Fall! I read the Grady Hendrix book and liked it a lot! My sister is about to finally try it again! She’s also going to read “So Thirsty”. I’ll see what you two think about it before I read. I like the seasonal tbr. May have to try that approach. I’m looking forward to Fall reading.
Oh yay!! I’m glad you liked it and I’m so curious to see what she thinks of both of them! I’ll have to watch out for a video from her on those. 💕 hope you enjoy your reading this month too!
Nice list of books! I am interested in solo and September house sounds interesting! Happy fall reading 🎃
Yay! I hope you enjoy Solo if you read it-I have loved the other two books I read by Kwame and spoiler… I finished Solo already this month and it’s my new favorite by him! So good.
Looks like a great fall TBR! I agree that having a seasonal TBR feels much more doable and less limiting than a monthly one. I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on The Four Winds, I want to read it but I’m scared haha. Hope you’ll love Southern Book Club! The Travelling Cat Chronicles sounds fun and cute 😊 And I want to get to The Dead Romantics in the near future too, I hope you enjoy it!
Haha I’m scared of The Four Winds too!! But I’m participating in a readathon this month and just pulled a prompt of a book that you’re avoiding because you’re intimidated by the hype… perfect time to read Four Winds!!
Hey Laura! Make virtual meetings matter...I need that! COZIES!! Cheddar off dead yeah...the cheese shop is one of my faves!! The Poppy McAllister series is hilarious! I LOVE Fannie Flagg...the elmwood springs series is AMAZING!!!
I can’t wait to get to the rest of the cheese shop mystery series! 🧀 💕
Oh hi! You have 333 subscribers so that’s my favorite number! I’ll be your 334! I make videos too 🎉
Yay!! Thanks so much for joining. 💕📚
Class Reunions is on my TBR! Love that you have some cozies. 😊
I’ve heard that’s a good one by a few folks! 💕📚
Abby Jimenez! 🥰
She’s on deck!! 💕
Oh boy, I had to read The Road in high school and it’s one of my most hated books of all time. 🙈 But hopefully you enjoy it much more than I did! lol
Lol well shoot. My mom said it’s kind of bleak… but also, I just finished reading They Both Die at the End which is also very bleak and I loooooved it! We’ll see!! I’m not opposed to DNFing. 😆
Part of Your World is so much better than Just for the Summer. It's one of my favorite romances of all time!
I think that’s what I’m going to read next! 💕 thank you!!
Read the Grisham short story collection....then loan it to me. 😂
Lol okay! 🙌🏻
Oh, you are going to love “Part of Your World”! So cool it resembles your relationship.
That might be next!!
Shari LePena is a great author! Hope you enjoy her books as much as I do.
I hope so too! I’ve heard good things about her in general, but haven’t heard much about the one I have!
So happy to see your face friend! Love the bookshelf tour. You have a lot of great books to get to. I loved, loved, loved Class reunions are murder so pick that up soon! 👏😆
I know, its been a while! I need to catch up on watching videos! Lol 😆 Will do!! 💕
So many books and so little time Laura. Best wishes.
Same to you!! Thank you.
I'm also not a book collector and get most of the books I read from my library. I'm very blessed to have an amazing library. The Cheese Shop series is so great. My favorite book in the series so far is Case of the Bleus Book 4. If you like cheese cozies, the Grilled Cheese series by Linda Reilly is also fantastic. I enjoyed The Lost Library. The cover got me with the cat and the little library. It's great to read for Middle Grade March. I hope you enjoy all of the books you read!
Thanks so much! Our library system is fantastic. Hasn’t been a book I’ve wanted to read yet that I couldn’t borrow from them! I’ll have to try the Grilled Cheese series; I’ve heard that recommendation from a couple others too!
So fun to see your bookshelf! I have a problem of using the library so much that I usually only get through 1-2 of my physical books each month, haha. Definitely read the Part of Your World Series in order!! I just finished the series (Just For The Summer was a 5-star read for me) and I think it will hit so much harder that way. I want to read The Four Winds but I’m scared because I’ve heard it’s so bleak, and I think I already mentioned that The Great Alone is a favorite 😊❤️
I’ll definitely be sure to read the Part of Your World Series in order then! I was thinking that’s probably best too. I’m intimidated by The Four Winds for sure-had that one over a year and still haven’t picked it up! Lol 😆 Thanks for watching, Chelsea!
Fun vlog, love seeing the two of you haivng a great time. So good that Cousin Sonia passed some books onto you - enjoy them.
Thank you!! It was a fun day, for sure.
I didn't like Hunted by Darcy Coates, either. But I did love Fahrenheit 451. I'm sooo far behind on watching videos. It was nice to finally have time to watch this. 🥰
I know the feeling!! It takes me forever to edit videos and get them out there lately… hope you’re enjoying the summer!
I watched this the other day and forgot to comment! Proud of you for finally reading the first ACOTAR book, haha. I know everyone probably says that the second book is the best and to push onward, and I 100% agree with that, but also totally get it if you don’t keep reading. I loved the humor in Finlay Donovan as well! And you have me really wanting to read Death Valley, I haven’t heard much about it but it sounds interesting for sure!! Glad you liked Tom Lake and Vera Wong too 😍
Haha thank you!! I think I’ll read the next one in the ACOTAR series, but I’ll probably read it in physical format instead of audiobook! Death Valley I’m sure isn’t for everyone but it’s so good!! 💕
@@Laura_Reads oh yay! I loved the audiobook but you can’t go wrong with plain ole physical too, haha. I’m so glad you loved Death Valley, I’ll definitely have to check it out!
I really enjoyed Finlay Donovan is Killing It. It was such a quick read, and engaging enough, despite flaws, that I went ahead and used a giftcard to get the second in the series (haven't read it, yet, though). I really struggle with Frieda McFadden. People recommend her stuff to me all of the time, but I've been disappointed every time. I continue to love your reviews! You are killing your reading challenges! I'm proud if I can get through three books in a month 🙃
June was closer to my normal pace-I think I finished 4, maybe 5. Lol 😆 I needed a break after May’s Readathons! I just don’t think Frieda McFadden is the author for me. I don’t hate her books, but they just don’t wow me the way that other thrillers have! Thanks for watching!! 💕
I need to read Vera for sure!!! Loving the review!! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Vera is so funny and endearing. 😆 💕
You had a wonderful month!! 13 !!! woohoo...
Shocking for me!! Lol 😆
Girl, I you now I don't read romance but Something Wild and Wonderful sounds delightful.. I need to pick that up.
I think you might enjoy that one! 🧡
