I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's so hard to lose a parent. I loved the layout of this video. I know you shouldn't judge things too early, but that first chapter of a book can really set the feeling for you, and I love those quick reviews/takes. I look forward to hearing your review of a few of other top contenders. Some have been on my list, too! I am very interested in starting some of the 'cozy mysteries' you've been recommending this fall - especially as I make my list and head to the library later today!

I’m a Poe fan, and I think it’s a good retelling of “The Fall of the House of Usher.” I’ve wanted to read The September House and The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires for awhile. I recently read Horrorstor. Loved this video, Laura. You always have fun ways of picking your books. I’m in awe that you can put on makeup while coherently talking about a book.
