great review. do you know the difference bet Garmin's parking GUARD feature versus parking MODE? I have Garmin 46/47s in my cars all front facing and hardwired with Garmin's parking cable. I connected a new Mini2 to an always on 12v socket in the trunk and wondered if parking GUARD would drain the car battery (directly connected to the always on 12v socket and not hardwired with a parking mode cable). thanks!

My issue with this. And it would be probably the same with any built in wifi unit is I run wireless Android auto via a dongle. The dongle uses a wifi function also. Basically the AA wireless over rides the Mini2 wireless feature. After some extensive testing camera records as normal when asking it to record a video. But wonder if this will be an issue with some newer vehicles running AA or Carplay wireless.

Usually when something is discontinued its because they cheapened the product or took something away and made into a service. Can you do a video that explains pros and cons on future products that focus on these details.

My Garmin Dash Cam Live (wired with parking mode to the battery using the official Garmin kit) did cause me some battery issues last week.... I sat in my car eating lunch listening to music via Apple CarPlay for maybe 10min. Tried to start the car and was greeted by warnings regarding the electronic parking break system not working, etc because of low battery voltage. I was still able to get the car running (it's a plug in hybrid) and restart the gasoline engine to charge the battery. I can place some blame on the dash cam parking mode draining the battery, but it might be unique to hybrids which technically have 3 different battery systems and very complicated electronics

The only dash cam that uses cellar data that is ok not get footage is waylens dash cam 360 which you have to hunt for and way over priced. I own one like it as a security cam not as a dash cam because it has a fish eye lens not very clear and night time video very bad unless you have a light source. I believe waylens have a directional dash cam but even more expensive and still have to hunt for them. The dash cams probably didn't sell good for the price and the video quality but wish they still would of improved on it because of the cellular plans

A Garmin park mode wiring system has 3 wires hot ground and ignition wire. dont know how well an non Garmin wiring system would work. with what you have leave the car off for a couple hours and then tap the unit to see if it turns on without turning on your ignition.

You are not using the temperature measuring device correctly. The device accepts infrared waves in a cone. The further you are away the bigger the area measured. You have been measuring a large portion of the glass as well as the dash cams. You need to hold it much closer because you only want to measure the temperature of the dash cam.
