Is the gearbox smooth enough for daily driving ?

Weight? I dont think you have even come close to driving it near 9/10th to feel any burden of weight. Without seeing the spec sheet would you be able to guess this car is above 1,700kg?

Hey Kevin, thanks for the review! Just wanted to add a few things from a daily perspective. The car is very easy to drive fast and it doesn't feel like you're wrestling/working with it to get it to go somewhere. I don't have to think too hard to get my fix for taking some corners fast or sliding a bit, especially after a long workday. Comparatively the Mach 1 felt like an event to handle and drive fast, which may be a positive to a lot of people, but I personally found it tiring to handle on a daily basis. In my daily vehicle I wanna be able to shut down mentally and still enjoy it and the M2 works for me in that regard.

I think you summed the car up perfectly....incredibly capable, and that's even before you factor in the price, but also a bit anodyne unless you are really pushing it. But as for a one car option, it ticks a lot of boxes. I have a distant relative, the Toyota Supra and I kind of feel similarly about it. Not as practical of course, but unless you are really on it (which isn't hard to do) it can be a bit boring. And that's the problem when driving in a somewhat responsible manner. My STi, while not nearly as capable, communicates so much more information, that it feels more lively. Slow car fast and all that.

For the purpose that this M2 serves, RS3 is the better choice. I like manual as much as anybody, but I had pick a good modern auto over a rubbery manual. Also, "not that ugly" reads not good looking, not exactly a selling point or endorsement.

I like them all, I wish the Meridian did not have the hood decal. But that shows how close I look at all the turbos. Seems the PP for the short money is the best buy. And yes, the terra-cotta.

The Evora GT was only available in the US initially, but Lotus introduced about 20 US spec cars to the UK at the very end of the cars life. The UK had the GT410 sport which was slightly stiffer but still a good ride, a higher rev limit 7k rpm. Sport mode also had more slip on the diff. 30% as opposed to 20%. It also looked different with the carbon clamshell, and different bonnet with the single carbon air scoop at the front and at the back. It also had different seats and some other bits and pieces. Fantastic car! It wasn't perfect but bloody good to drive and the standard stainless steel exhaust sounded fantastic.Always keeps you on your toes 👍💪

would you recommend the gr86 or the miata for learning rwd dynamics? I come from a civic si and i want to be able to pick a car that’ll help me understand the differences in power trains.

I love that ND3 you got. Super fun daily and so much potential for track fun. And you got the best color. I don’t trust the reliability of the BRZ/86. I spun a bearing on an FRS and that made me pretty sour. The new engines seem to have oiling issues as well. Maybe you get lucky and never have an issue. But I think you’re rolling the dice if you plan to drive hard on the track or in the canyons. A young enthusiast who doesn’t have a ton of money for repairs might be better off with something more reliable. ND is the way.

My dad has cayman GT4 it is so much f***ing fun on the street. It definitely revs higher than you would expect and that definitely adds to the experience. Kevin you need a GT4 or GT4rs if you want pdk insanity

Your Emira looks brilliant my friend and it seems like you're truly enjoying it. Your dash cam is a nice option, but I purchased the Escort Maxcam for my 718 GT4. It's also serves a radar detector for those times when you "accidentally" go over the speed limit.

Most people can’t afford a weekend sports car nor go to track. Other than dealer and support problems, the look of the Emira is just trying too hard for what it’s not. An older Porsche would be the best all rounder for so many reasons.
