    I have the CS ul 1,I was thinking of getting the footprint for fast fly but the crossbar is connected on the ul 1. How tough is it to get it out of the pocket and clip it to the inner and then put back in pocket. It is so tight I would think it would be hard to do from inside.

    Thanks for this video - I have this tent and want to make sure I'm taking care of it properly. Using the stakeout point at the tent instead of the footprint: is this to make sure the tent surface is larger than the footprint, ie, covers up the footprint?

    • @CirqRentals
      @CirqRentals 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that’s right. Tensioning the tent will make sure the tent has the best chance of extending over the footprint and allows a little give in the footprint, so it’s not pulled too tight directly over rocks, roots, etc. Often you can stake both the footprint and tent loops together and that is ok too. The other reason for prioritizing tensioning the tent body loops is to make sure your tent floor has the largest floor area and a tighter pitch. Hope this helps and happy camping!

    • @thomasedwa
      @thomasedwa 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree and disagree. I agree it dents easier than say something like a hydroflask. I have been using the gray aurora as my daily water bottle for the last 3 years. There are some minor dents from everyday use. But in my opinion, the dents give the bottle wabi-sabi character. The non-insulated has its benefits. I like to use my aurora water bottle to boil water on my backpacking stove for purification and freeze dried meals. Something you can't do with an insulated bottle. Not to mention this bottle is so much lighter than anything insulated. Something many backpackers can appreciate. Also, I have never had any issues with the cap breaking. I do think 150 is a bit too pricey but I have seen these go on sale for around 100. Definitely worth the pick up at that price.

    I bought this board for our 1.5 toddler, she hated it, would not stand on it and only slide on it while sitting down. May be it’s just not for her, but it was an expensive way to find out. Buy a $30 similar board at a superstore just to gauge the interest. ALSO! Somehow, burton deleted my negative experience review from their site, this is so weird for a big company like them! It’s now looking like a deceiving 100-% satisfaction product. A LIE.

    • @CirqRentals
      @CirqRentals 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi elena6564, thanks for sharing your experience with the Riglet. We've definitely seen this with younger riders in that 1.5-2.5 yr range. Depending on their balance or interest it can take a while for them to start attempting a stance. They often just want to lay on it and "sled". This is a big part of why we rent these boards, so families can check them out first or maybe avoid buying some of the gear altogether as their kiddos are growing so fast. We also rent and recommend the Burton handlebar that mounts to the Riglet for riders in your age range. It helps them feel comfortable standing and naturally puts them in a rider's stance as they learn. Not sure about the Burton site feedback, that does sound super weird. Hope your lil shredder finds their winter passion at some point and best to you as you present all the options for them! Happy Riding!

    Like every other material, Titanium has its trade-offs. It’s lightweight, transfers heat and cold very quickly, has a high melting point, is much less reactive than other metals, and, though it will dent, is still relatively durable compared to other materials of the same dimensions and mass. It’s not “crap” or “trash” - it just is what it is. If you are in the market for the qualities possessed by Titanium, go for it. If not, buy something else.

      @CirqRentals 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is definitely not the right bottle for your application. If you want to keep something hot or cold, please look for a double wall, vacuum insulated bottle. The Aurora is very very thin single wall titanium. It's designed to be incredibly light, but not keep things cold or hot. If you like Snow Peak, try the Kanpai insulated bottles. Hope you find a great insulated bottle for your needs and happy camping!

I can’t get a tight connection when setting up the tent rainfky into my footprint. Please make a video detailing on how to do this.

    • @CirqRentals
      @CirqRentals 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @MichaelValecia, thanks for reaching out with your question. Every vendor (and tent for that matter) fits the FP a little differently. Most do allow for a little play with the FP underneath, mainly so it can provide some slide between the tent and FP as well as so it's not so taught when you pitch on something sharp. The tighter that FP is the more likely it is to wear or puncture, or worse pass the issue into your tent floor (or your back!). The CS does seem to be more loose than most, so we get what you're feeling. Harbor Freight and most hardware stores sell a grommet kit (pretty cheap). You can grab one of these and with the tent set up and FP staked tight underneath, mark where tighter grommets might sit. Then you can add 4 new grommets and that should be a viable long term option for you. Beyond that or sewing on new ribbons or shock cord, two tips to try for you would be to carry extra stakes and just pull the FP out/stake it independent of staking the tent body. For us the weight implication and extra step is dubious, but this would get the FP tight for you. You could also use short straight sticks you find around camp as 'stakes' to accomplish this mission. One other trick to try would be to clip the FP into the rainfly instead of the tent (even when using the tent body). Then as you pull the adjusters tight you'll be pulling the fly down and the FP up, and that would get it tighter. You'd want to have the FP staked out well for this to work. And...as you mention you could also just go without the FP depending on where you are camping and how abrasive the surface and how vigilant you are at selecting a site and removing sharps. You just may wear your tent floor out a little sooner this way but many opt for this option, saving weight at the same time. Happy camping!

    • @CirqRentals
      @CirqRentals 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its not self pitching, that's for sure! Like a lot of things camping, it's really not too bad after you've done it a few times, and especially smooth with two people. You can also go without the takibi liner if you aren't doing a fire and that's one less step. You get an eye for where to stake the end anchors and the rest is pretty quick from there. It's when you have to keep moving stakes or readjusting that it can get frustrating. In our opinion its worth having this or something like it pitched in the "off season" especially so you have a sheltered place to cook and gather for your group. Nothing like sitting around the fire with your peeps in a rain or snow shower. Thanks for you note and happy camping!

    • @CirqRentals

      Hi sage! Great question. Nesting...so satisfying. These nest together incredibly well! The Aurora will sit into the Trek 700 with about a half inch (1.27cm) total extra space on the side (1/4 inch (.6 cm) on each side if you center). You can keep a pack towel in between to reduce the rattle. The Aurora is a good bit taller than the 700 but both can nest and fit really well inside a pack or bottle pocket on the exterior. • @CirqRentals
      @CirqRentals 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Jonathan, thanks for you comment. We were trying to show what one can expect in more real world conditions; cool weather, breeze, conserving some fuel for the rest of your weekend, etc. Most of the manufactures including Snow Peak openly share the perfect standard temperature and pressure boil times with throttle full bore. We were just trying to show what you might expect on a normal campout. We also find, and perhaps just anecdotally that with open stoves like this on narrow pots with the output full on, a lot of your heat and fuel efficiency is lost up and around the side to the atmosphere. We appreciate the comment, and looking to the future, may do both a 'real world' med/high output as well as a fully open boil time for comparison. Thanks for the note and happy camping!

    • @CirqRentals
      @CirqRentals 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi mrmods, thanks for sharing your comment. Most of the time with this tent we use it w/o the awning feature and it works incredibly well just as any backpacking tent with standard vestibules. In fact the extra zip for the awning feature has actually made it easier to get in/out and gives you one more option for getting to your gear. Depending on where you are camping and available deadfall, you can also fashion awning poles easily from fallen branches if you still want to use the awning, but aren't using trekking poles on your trip. Personally, I use this tent all the time, but I rarely use the awning, often pushing miles and going straight to set up, food, sleep. This tent is so popular for a reason, with or without active use of the awning feature! Is there a tent vestibule or awning feature that you prefer to use or recommend? Always looking out for great gear! Happy camping!

    I don’t understand the difference between trail weight and packed weight. What does it mean?

      It's not half bad in normal wind or breezy conditions. We haven't tested it in full gale, but usually we're hunkered in the tent in those conditions anyway. It was actually pretty windy the evening the night portion of this video was filmed. The aperture adjustments allow you close it down and nearly 'seal it off' from the wind, and some airflow adds to the flicker. Thanks for you note and happy camping!

    I hope they make a bigger alpha breeze with a bit more foot print and head room (not in height but square footage). Good video. Visually we can scale the size easily.

    I just purchased the snow peak and im excited to put this together. Your video is my instruction manual, so clear and simple. Im only confused about the knots that go on the vestibule. Do you have any videos on that or can point me to one?
