Hey Mark, cracked me up with squeak toy squid. That Screaming J LP looks cool. I got to see him back in the 80’s w/The Fuzztones. Still have that Halloween themed T Shirt with your name on it. Sucks that TH-cam doesn’t have an email feature..
Another good one! That vinyl is awesome! I know that resident evil game is a good one! I'm watching this on vacation in South Dakota!!!
The last man on earth soundtrack sounds as scary as Nico's music & is also a lovely glowing green ! 💚🎵😺👍
@@piccolina721 Ha! You made me laugh 😃
Another fine addition of week in retrospect Mark! I really look forward to these. Disco dryer was very entertaining. It would have been great to dedicate a full 2 minutes on that.
Ha! Thanks, Shawn. Careful what you wish for!
I love Matheson's I Am Legend (the ending is better than any of the movie adaptations). The Last Man on Earth is a great movie, but I prefer Omega Man. Can't really remember the soundtrack. The Screamin' Jay Hawkins looks cool too. I know Katie's channel, but don't know Marty's. Interesting selection of smutty literature 😂😂 I was addicted to Baldur's Gate II back in around 2004... great stuff! Enjoyed your weekly roundup, Jack
Thanks, Jack! I prefer Omega Man, too. I don't know much about games or gaming, but I love watching my niece's enthusiasm for it!
You’re a legend, Mark! Sexy comics for the win! This is a great series you’ve put together. 🙏🥰👍🏻
Thanks, Rachel! I'm trying to encompass a variety of topics besides vinyl, just like your show!
@@MarkMorris-1962 Yes! Have fun with it all is the best way forward 🥰👍
Erotic comics! Hmm, now that is intriguing. I may have to add Vampire Lovers to my list 🧛♀ Another week in the books. Well done.
Yeah, it's getting kind of racy around here! Thanks, Brian.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Beatles recently, too. Screamin’ Jay Hawkins!! Nice! Katie’s channel is great. I’ll have to check Marty’s out. The transitions in these Retrospect episodes are classic. Ughhh Sunday is such a weird day. We love a good disco dryer. I need some Bulders Gate therapy. ELSSSAAAA!!!! NOT SQUID!!! Noooooooo. 😢 … great recap, Mark. 😊
Thanks, Emma! I'm glad you noticed the transitions. It's crazy how much work I put into those silly 8 second clips.
As always, nicely done Mark! I watched this on a Monday morning as I got moving and ready for work myself. Those comics and books you showed were a fascinating timepiece. Have yourself a good week also 😎🎶
Thanks again, Ed! This one was published a little later than usual as I actually had something to do on Saturday besides edit videos. Have a fantastic week!
Enjoyed your video as always. I was a bit miffed at myself for not knowing Omega Man wasn’t the first adaption! Cool ending with your niece meeting the motion/voice actress from the game. Wishing you an awesome October Mark. Cheers buddy.
Thanks so much, Morten! October is a favorite month for me.
@@MarkMorris-1962 That’s nice to read 🤓
Hey thanks Mark. Appreciate the shoutout!🎉
My pleasure, Katie! Enjoy your channel.
Hey Mark, two great reissues… i love both those albums. A real shame that Steve has stepped away from the VC, especially for people starting out in the vinyl community. I couldn’t get on board with Bride of Chucky… it was one Chucky too. I won’t hold it against you Mark, you’re entitled to indulge in some Tilly Time. Cheers, Jack
@@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf Ha! Thanks, Jack! Tilly time is quite important to me.
Another great show. Loved your favorite artist segment. 👏 Also dig The Doors, Jennifer Tilly and tater tots! 😄
This is why I am your biggest fan, Steph!
Hey Mark. Thanks for the cool shout-out, this is much appreciated. We miss Steve
Great recap. The Doors debut album is top notch. We'll all miss Steve and his wonderful channel. He's been a friend to many of us in the vc. Tater tots are addicting. Excellent episode Mark.
Thanks, Rich! I think tatter tot Wednesday will become a thing.
I have the doors LA women and countless greatest hits cds that i found in Thrift stores. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks, Tony! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for dropping by!
Hi Mark. I think I have the same Doors pressing that you have. Nice review of Bowie the man who sold the world. We have art in the house which I love but my knowledge of art is minuscule. The painting you showed by Chagal look great. That is a nice looking ceiling fan. My thoughts on Steve mirror yours. I unfortunately missed the vinyl connections episode.
Thanks, Shawn! I take great pride in that ceiling fan. Here's a fun fact: the remote to that fan broke and I still haven't figured out how to turn it off. That will become annoying in the winter months! Thanks for dropping by!
Hi Mark. Well done getting through yet another week. Hope time passes at a humane pace until you see your daughter again. The video about Steve upset me. In large part, for me, the same reasons as you, and also not having the ability to reach out to him and not knowing what was going on. I was, as usual, sleeping when Trevor and Marcia was doing their live show, so I couldn’t convey my greetings or what have you. Thank you for sharing the art, good start to the Monday, on a grey and chilly day. Oh my, glad you did not take part in that automotive altercation. Great soundeffect editing btw. Onsdag is Wednesday over here. Odins day. Thought I’d mention it since you skipped it 😄 Never seen a Chucky movie. I watched Batman (1989) again last night. Jennifer I like. Lovely river… Have a great week Mark. Cheers from Morten
Thanks, Morten! I like Jennifer Tilly immensely! I'll remember that about Odins day!
hey mark,i discovered ,on my turntable's channel too, he is a cool dude! and thats true about steve, all the world's a stage has shut down!
Yes, Ed's a great guy! Steve will definitely be missed.
Another great one! That doors debut is amazing! Not a big fan of that bowie album either but great title track. I'm sadden by Steve's channel too 😢. And I love the different and unique shots you do for the days! Also this was nice to watch one my birthday today! (Sept 22)!
Happy 19, Jack! And thanks for all your support! We'll definitely be missing Steve.
@@MarkMorris-1962 thank you!
I liked hearing your connection to Chagall. Fun more than educational???? What?? The slideshow was cool. The goat walking on a face really stood out to me! Lol. Subname should be ceiling fan musings. You didn’t get flip squished!!! I’m in the don’t camp for Child’s Play - lol. My hubby made me sit through the tv show and I hated it.

@@GustavoScafuro Well said!
The End is my fav Doors track. Would you be surprised to learn that I have a copy of a Marc Chagall book about his stained glass? I admire his art. I have never seen Bride of Chuckie! Nice recap, again.
Not surprised at all about your Chagall book. I have a few myself, but didn't want to dig them out. I love his stained glass. I've seen the stained glass at the Art Institute of Chicago. Incredible! I linked to a web page about the Chagall's stained glass below. I LOVE The End by the Doors, too. For some reason, I usually play it towards the end of summer. So I was due!
I enjoyed the slide show. I am familiar with Marc Chagall. I have visited a few art museums with traveling. Crowded House debut album reminds me of a Chagall painting. Take care 😊
Thanks, Catherine! I have seen some of Chagall's work at the Art Institute of Chicago. I'm always awestruck!
Label freak here! I’m glad this posted.. I was worried when I couldn’t watch this morning. Love the man who sold the world and how dark and heavy it is. Also love how it’s one of the only albums I know of with 3 different covers, the original Metrobolist, Bowie in drag, and the RCA US reissue that you had. Doors debut is a classic as well. Ed is the best. Happy you didn’t die. Another great week in retrospect!
Thanks, Alex! You're obviously well-versed in Bowie. You don't hear that original title, Metrobolist, too often!
Evening Mark! Appreciate those kinds words and shout out - thank you! A great overview of Chagall and how his style and pieces have inspired you. Sounds like you had one of those weeks where the weekend just couldn't get here fast enough: can all relate to that. Lovely words for Steve, and I certainly echo those comments. You're up to Double Digits in this series next week - wow! 😎
Thanks, Ed! You've been so supportive of this silly series. I appreciate it! Episode 10 on its way!
@@MarkMorris-1962 You bet! I'll be seated on my couch and ready!
I really like Man Who Sold the World.
That's because you're an interesting character, David!
@@MarkMorris-1962 is that why? I’m finishing your video soon. Had to take a break…….
Label freaks!!!!

Thanks Mark for the shoutout! Hopefully we’ll be able to clarify what’s going on to the best of our abilities.
My pleasure, Trevor. I'll be watching!
Hi Mark! That Doors debut is in my top 5 Deserted Islands classics. I was an early fan when I first heard them in grade 8 on vacation in Florida. It’s a fun story and great memory for me. Thanks for the very kind words and shoutout! Ed is a cool guy too! He commented on a recent video that he’s coming to the summer party in Buffalo next July. Of course, you are invited as well Mark! I love the art you shared. Very positive comments about Steve. ✌️
And Mike's a pretty cool guy himself!
I immersed myself in The Doors for years when I first heard them! I can't listen to them now without being transported to the latter 1970s and early 80s. I would love to visit Buffalo! We'll see where the chips fall. See what I did there? Buffalo. Chips. I crack myself up! Thanks for the invite, Mike!
Just catching up Mark. Another great week in retrospect.👏Lilly is lovely and your daughter Luxy is beautiful! The Thing. Putting it on my watch list.
@djstephwest Awww, thanks, Steph! I love your videos and I find you beyond charming!
We can mostly agree Yellow Submarine is the worst. The rest are opinions.
@@JohnchristopherTonks-ue7mq Ha! Absolutely! All for fun.
Another great week in retrospect! I have that Billie Holiday record and love it Can't wait to see what you pick up from the Beatles stuff. The Thing is going to be on my list come October of movies to watch.. a CLASSIC. Great stuff Mark!
Thanks, Alex! I felt this was a little lackluster this week, but shorter videos are more accessible. Thanks for always being so supportive!
💚💚We enjoyed your week , because you enjoyed it! 🎵🎵👍😺🤓✌
Thank you, Piccolina!
Hi Mark, I half listen to Rachel’s show when working and did not really comprehend what that Beatles box set was all about. Your overview was perfect. The 9-11 story was great, the suits should have extended that deadline. I am curious if you went into 2 player mode on Balduras gate. Nice billy Holiday purchase cd for Lilly! Great news on visit from Lexy on her birthday. As usual great video.
@@vinylshawn4757 Thanks, Shawn! I only watch Lily play video games. My temperament is such that it is unwise for me to get overly frustrated!
A classic Mark Morris roundup! Nice intro. It’s only right you should start your roundup with a round of applause 👏🏻 Nice Jaws t-Shirt and very nice Beatles box 👌I watched 9/11 happen in a tent in the Kuwait desert… it was totally surreal. We shared the camp with the Americans… a very different atmosphere for the final month of my tour. The US personnel were very very cagey and closed down all their facilities to non-US personnel. The Thing! Gotta be in my top 5 horror films. A masterpiece of suspense. I noticed you said that you’d seen The Thing one thousand times. I don’t want to try and one up you, Mark. However, I’ve actually watched the Thing one thousand and one times. Big fan. Cheers, Jack
Lordy, I admire anyone who spent any time in a tent in Kuwait! What a place to witness 9-11! I was exaggerating about The Thing. I've only seen it 754 times. You definitely have me beat! Love and respect to you, Jack!
@@MarkMorris-1962 sorry, I think I was trying to impress you. I’ve also saw it 754 times. Now I’m embarrassed. Let’s call it a tie. 🙂 Kuwait was a really easy det until 9/11… then the whole atmosphere changed. I only had a month to go and went out to the isle of Lesbos to visit my pal who was teaching English out there. I was slimmer, had more hair and my future was all before me. Good times.
Hey, it appears that @alltheworldsastage899 has disappeared. Anybody know why? I hope all is well.

Another great one Mark! good story you had for 9/11 always interested to hear about how it was for people.
@@jackgop7966 Thanks, Jack! Always love hearing from you!
Thank you for talking about The Beatles early Capital releases. I am excited about this. I was looking at the box set $300 and decided this is too much to spend. Buying the single copies is a better option. Beatles 2nd album and Hard Days Night are my choices. 😊
@@catherine6653 Great choices, Catherine! I'll probably end up buying more than I intend!
Settled in with breakfast for A Week In Retrospect, now with studio audience! As a sidebar to Jim Thompson, I am a huge fan of Film Noir, and have a lot of books and DVD's of that film genre. If you've not seen The Killing before, it's excellent. Thanks again for sharing your week and your 9/11 story, Mark. 😎🎶 Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
@onmyturntable7036 I love Film Noir, and I'll put The Killing on my list! Thanks for always being so supportive, Ed!
Hi Mark - Thanks for the shout out! "Wildly unpopular" is the perfect description of the John Cale series 😆 I learned even more about The Killer Inside Me through this video. I had thoughts of a small Cessna type plane when I heard the news on September 11 as well. It led you to a very interesting career change. You always have very interesting weeks. Last week, I went to the dentist 🥱 Next week, I have my annual physical 🥱Although my daughter and I watched the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. That movie is way too long! Peace and love, Juan! Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to comment!
I want some of those US albums. I have A Hard Days Night and Something New. So I don’t need the box set, especially since it is so expensive.
Honestly, those albums should be $18 not $30. That’s just overcharging.
I like the idea of having mint copies of these records in mono and recorded from analog. But I just can't justify paying for more than one or two of these records. Thanks for dropping by, Jason!
@@garagegeek4863 Never give a sucker an even break!
$30 each?!?! Nope. I haven’t read Jim Thompson in a long time. That Billie Holiday digipack is so nice. I actually have that vinyl and it’s also gorgeous. Good that you can spend her birthday with Luxy. I heard my name!!! That was a chilling day. The Thing is such a great movie - a bit dated but still chilling. I’ve never read Who Goes There. There’s another Thing movie that was made about ten years ago that is like a prequel to this movie - ends with the dog escaping, I think.
They know Beatles fans will pay inflated prices for records. I'll definitely get a few of these myself. I was so happy when Lily mentioned that she loves Billie Holiday! I own the prequel to The Thing, too. I remember liking it, but I don't remember much about it now. Thanks for your continued support, David!
Regarding Piano Man, bonus points for "the microphone smells like a beer." Also could've done Time off of Aladdin Sane ("in quaaludes and red wine"). Of course, that one is a bit of a downer (but a classic). Greetings from Bruce Springsteen's hometown... not Asbury Park, but Freehold (literally what the closing track on that album is about).
All good calls! Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to comment!
Excellent entry items into the contest Mark. I really enjoyed your poem and I totally agree… The born in the USA album with Bruce Springsteen is outstanding.
@TheBeardedItalian Thank you! Sometimes I get flack for liking that record. I appreciate you backing me up!
I liked that a lot of the songs weren’t necessarily about drinking but included lines about drinking. It’s good to hear the lyrics because there’s some nice poetry in there sometimes.
@@musicisajourney You're too kind! Thank you, Peter.
I really like the No No Song haha. What's funny is Ringo was in full drinking mode in that year. Picasso's Last Words has always been a favorite for me. Nicely done Mark.
