Thanks, Ed! I also wanted to test some editing tricks I've been learning. Thought this type of video would be a good testing ground. And, of course, I wanted to show off the collection!
Great timing, Mark! I'm considering seeing Pete Best this Sunday here in Columbus and was doing a deep dive into what records he was actually featured on, so Anthology 1 has been on my mind for a few weeks. Doesn't look like I will be able to get a copy by the weekend but gonna try to find the Star Club and Tony Sheridan stuff locally to see if he can sign anything
@KyleInTheSanctuary Thanks, Kyle! I was just thinking of you. I mention the War of the Gargantuas in my next video that I hope to have uploaded this evening.
That sounds like the story of my life. Volume 2 is my favorite, also. It was the hardest one to obtain at an affordable price. Makes me feel safe to have them all together now.
I love how you spin the image and show off the albums. Great job. I wish I had these sets. Your last image was like the images of them on which album? Each Beatles has a different color and George’s hand is raised, I guess.
Thanks, David! Experimenting with some new techniques. I have a lot of work ahead of me! Thanks for your continued support and comments. I was sort of recreating the portrait of George Harrison by Richard Avedon in that lost shot. Good eye!
Hey Mark, nice buys. I think I need to pick these up. Packed with treasure. I’ve not watched the anthology series since it was released, so might need to revisit that too. Anthology 2 has always been my favourite… essential stuff. Cheers, Jack
I watched the documentaries on TV way back when. There is always something new to learn about the Beatles, it seems, even for me, and I am not a hard-core Beatles fan. I gather these vinyl releases are pricey now, but maybe less than the Butcher cover ...
It was tough to find each of these at "reasonable prices." It seems a lot of people in the States feel these are worth a fortune. For two of these, I found people selling them in the UK for non-inflated prices. Even with the extra shipping costs, the total was less than what my countrymen were asking for it. I got these from between $69.00 and $76.00 each. I haven't checked lately, but many sellers were placing a price of well over 100 bucks each. Now, I just need to find Let It Be Naked on vinyl at a reasonable price. Thanks for watching, Brian!
I was so glad that the band finally got around to doing this series. Perhaps these recordings were most likely not up the alley of casual fans but the rabid fans ate them up (even though much was already released on bootlegs over the years) just to hear these outtakes etc in a quality compilation properly mastered etc. I have specific fond memories of playing two weeks in Austria @the Akzent Theater in Vienna right during the big push of Anthology One and Free As A Bird. While I had the CDs and they were convenient when traveling, having the LP’s were a must ! Same with Live @BBC. Would have liked to have heard your opinions about what you liked about each one….
I definitely ate them up! Am happy to finally have them on vinyl. Maybe I'll do a series discussing each one in the future. I became overwhelmed when I started writing notes for this series and decided to simply show the records as a bit of vinyl erotica.
Fabulous, I have all vinyl and cd’s and live them. Such treasure troves. Great video Mark. Mike
@@pc31thevinylpoliceman Thanks, Mike! I was excited to finish this collection.
Nicely done, Mark. The music speaks for itself, so a great way to show these albums. 😎🎶

@@MarkMorris-1962 Well done on both fronts!
@@onmyturntable7036 You're too kind!
Nice presentation. Your editing skills are awesome. 😊
Thank you so much, Catherine! I've been practicing! So nice to see you here.
This is a really cool set. I think we have the DVD set somewhere. Neat presentation!
Thanks, Kim! I want that DVD set!

@@beerandvinyl That's so cool! Tell Pete hello for me and send him my condolences for not passing the audition.
Nice! I, too, liked Anthology 2 the best but they are all pretty good. Cheers!

@@MarkMorris-1962 I'm looking forward to it. 😁
I have all 3 on CD. Recently my local record store had vol 1 and 2 for $49. I almost bought 2 because it is my favorite. I went back and it was gone.

@@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf Hey, Jack! Thanks for watching. I haven't watched the series since it first broadcast, either. That's next on my list!
