Slime is probably the most competitive because of the ability to abuse it with things like serum powder and chrome mox in legacy. Mulligan aggressively and slam back to back 6/6s or some garbage on turns 1 and 2.

Had a Dragon's Approach EDH deck with Magda at the helm. Fifty-five Approaches, bunch of dwarves, bunch of mountains, Thrumming Stone, no dragons. Worked pretty well.

Boros

Selesnya, these 2 colors have so much overlap on what they do that it doesn't feel like there is much reason to play both.

I would say it used to be boros but maybe not anymore

The funniest thing is, the white smell would still be encounter, cause two counters were targeting it. Even whites counter spell wouldn’t counterspell both spells.

I would say the arcane signet from Dan Frazier’s Allied signet Secret lair is my favorite out of any other printing

The math you used for the dragon’s approach is for 1v1 magic with 20 life, where your opponent is probably killing you faster than you resolving 4 dragon’s approaches. That’s 12 mana for 4 lightning bolts that don’t impact their board at all. I definitely think it’s stronger in commander, and I’m honestly thinking about building it with the new Niv Mizzet as the commander. It deals 9 damage total which draws you 9 cards, and can search for synergistic dragons like Drakuseth, whose attack trigger deals 10 damage total.

I think Relentless rats is better than you give it credit for. You're not just casting 3 mana 2/2's, each one you have on the board gets stronger as you cast more, so while it might take a few to ramp up, they all get pretty strong as you get further into the game (unless your opponent has a lot of removal).

I would’ve put knights above petitioners. For starters they can search for thrumming stone to get even more knights, and second they work insanely well in an esper knights deck with the eminence knight tribal commander that does card draw and grave recursion synergies with your Templar knights. Petitioners either slow mill your 3 opponents or do a self mill strategy and accidentally mill your synergy pieces and then have to recur them. I tried playing the slime petition commander deck and while it is fun and interesting, it definitely isn’t up there on the power scale because of how much of the deck gets dedicated to 2 cards. And as blue humans they aren’t even in the best colors for human tribal, and try to work as advisor tribal which doesn’t have enough support to get away with it.

Yup, Red is the current worst color. Green is the best. No one splashes red just because. Green gets splashed for ramp, targeted removal, buffs, etc. green is an auto include. Red needs a reason to join the party.

Boros is the worst it works too hard to get anything done. Izzet is the best based purely on the fact that it almost always sees play at a high level. The coolest is orzov because bartolome my beloved.

This is based purely on opinion but I think selesnya is just not memorable enough or unique to really entice me. selesnya commanders for example are mostly dominated by +1/+1 counters, which is not how I personally play.

I'm sorry but izzet is hands down the worst to play against

Orzhov is my least favorite, Selesnya is my favorite.

Blue white is the worst they try to control the board or stax to high heaven but never win the game

Sorry, but strictly from a commander standpoint, my opinion is in fact, Izzet. It has the most trouble with removal, as it is mostly damage or counters. It has great draw, and good synergy with spells, but other color pairs have better options. That being said, it is still really fun to play.
