    So I’m looking to compete in 2026 and are looking into the 2025 Lynx Brutal RE 900 ace turbos. Is the rear arm an issue that we can address going into the race like something we could do to prevent it from breaking? Also are you competing again in 2026?

    • @AndrewMilleyPerformance

      We don’t have a rear arm solution yet. I strongly discourage 4 strokes. They are heavy and will fatigue you faster… and be harder to manage in some areas

    • @AndrewMilleyPerformance

      We are at a point that no matter what new sled we chose, we would have to learn new equipment. We picked Lynx. The ride is far superior to anything else I’ve ridden that’s suitable for Cain’s Quest. We only had problems with ONE part. That’s it. The rest of the sled was 👌 So in my opinion, it would be unwise to ride something else. We have almost overcome the learning curve. We just have to reengineer ONE part.

    Would you go Rock Shocks on front vs. Pro 36, or just go Rock all the way around? And how uncomfortable is the SWT to ride if you're used to the 20" sled already?

    • @AndrewMilleyPerformance

      Rox shocks are a quality product. I have a lot of stuff around because I’ve been racing for years so sometimes I choose to just run parts I already have. With that said, if I had to buy shocks for a new SWT tomorrow, I’d spend my money on Rok shocks for the front 3 and look for a 2” rear similar to what I have…. BUT a 1.5” Rok rear is an excellent choice for 95% of people. It can be valved to offer the same ride as my 2”, but the 2” has better fade resistance on a long day.

    Hey Andrew. Im looking at a new expedition and not sure which way to go. 600r / 900 ace / 900 turbo. Will be mostly trail but some off trail, hauling wood etc. Any input be appreciated. Thanks

    • @AndrewMilleyPerformance

      I can only comment with knowledge of our local snow conditions and terrain. From my experience a 20” turbo is a really nice touring sled with some off trail capability. It likes to dip and dive and can be very frustrating in the woods. A 20” 900ace is a bit better, considerably cheaper and unbelievably reliable with the exception of fuel filters. A 2 stroke 20” is a really nice all around snowmobile, noticeably better off trail than the 4 strokes. “It’s only 30lbs” people say, but I think it drives like 50+ difference. The 2 stroke is almost zero maintenance until it’s engine rebuild time. If you’re stepping up to a 24” they really are all great sleds. I’d personally still get a 600r, but there is no wrong choice, just little compromises

  • @nathanchandler18

    Do you find it makes much of a difference on icy terrain? We have a lot of powder where I live and mostly only run into a few ice crossings, ice hills here and there. Do you think it’s a worthwhile upgrade? We do some back road cruising as well which gets some pretty good ice pack.

    • @AndrewMilleyPerformance

      It is absolutely worth while. We mostly ride good snow as well, but the occasional icy river crossing or wind blown lake will show the difference, especially towing a sleigh

    Anything new for this year or so you still have this sled? I have a 24 xterrain and so far it’s great. I am Gonna swap The 23/51 gearing to 23/45 to get some more mid/top end as top end I’m guessing it’s only Around 80mph. I’d like to be around 95ish. Even though with a 2” track I don’t want or need top end I like to go fast across parts of lakes every now and then. I went with the reeds clutch kit and dalton 46/42 helix

    • @AndrewMilleyPerformance

      I still have this one and I also have a new Brutal. I have ran taller gearing in 850s with tall lugs, but my experience is they only pull more speed for a short distance. They get rpm fade and run slower than the lower gearing so there is little win. Hopefully you have better success.

  • @xGR1MxREAPERx

    Make sure you don’t do this on a 850 lol.. if you pull that whole secondary shaft out liek that your top gear and chain will fall to the bottom of your chaincase. This only works cause r strokes have another reverse gear up there that holds everything together. On an 850 you have to take chaincase apart or shove a punch to hold the gear. Or just take the secondary off the shaft by taking the helix off from the backside with a torx thin ratchet, SLP sells one with their kit and it works great.

    • @AndrewMilleyPerformance
