Rule 10: THE TRANSFORMATIONAL POWER OF ACCEPTANCE. Approach acceptance with the same tenacity as other aspects of recovery. Fighting what is has its place in stroke recovery. The tough determination you need to push through an intense therapy session will benefit you, no doubt, but there is also a place for acceptance at various points in your recovery. If you approach acceptance with the same tenacity that you approach other aspects of your recovery, it can have a truly transformational effect.

It's. Driving. Me. Insane!🫨 It's on both sides. And getting louder as I get older. I also do have hearing loss. But,youre correct, I've lost so much focus & I'm always foggy-minded. As if I'm living in a dream & I'm just an observer. It also affects my sleep a lot. I'm about done trying to cope, but sadly I can't find a doctor that's willing to help or that will take my insurance. I've been taking gabapentin now for years as I have fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, & scoliosis. However, it doesn't work at all for my migraines or for the tinitius.

A 2020 study from Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital demonstrated that excessive oscillations triggered glutamate receptor delta 2 (GluRδ2) insufficiency and synaptic pruning impairment at climbing fiber-to-Purkinje cell synapses in the cerebellum. Those of us who have experienced a TBI and now have tremors may not fully accept this psychological component as the single source. Stress and activities with multiple sensory inputs (like shopping) can feel like a traffic jam in your brain. Then, the signals take a detour, and suddenly you are weaving and shaking.

Hello doctor. It’s as if you are talking exactly about my 73 yr old stroke patient wife. It’s been 2 yrs since the stroke. She’s home and we are learning to live with her stroke conditions. Although ! ......... She is experiencing the same things you are talking about. Her neurologist has not given any suggestions as to what to do except to give it time. In your opinion,... should we begin a relationship with a psychologist? Thank you dr.

Best video I've seen so far about FND. You're a brilliant speaker and so easy to listen to. I have a neurological movement disorder called cervical dystonia (23 years). I do not have any genetic or physical abnormalities that are known to be causing my symptoms. This is the case for almost everyone I know who has dystonia. I have experienced minor trauma throughout my life but nothing I would point to as significant. I'm wondering, based on the criteria you use to diagnose somebody with FND, if most people that have movement disorders do not have any structural damage causing their disorder, and since all of us have experienced varying forms and severities of trauma throughout our lives, it would seem to me that almost all of us fall under the FND umbrella rather than straight up cervical dystonia or other forms of dystonia or other movement disorders. Could you please clarify that for me please? Thanks very much!

I have very severe chronic fatigue, for many conditions, including an EBV post viral illness. While on Gabapentin, the worst I was feeling, then the dosage was going up. My fatigue getting worst and worst. Until I found some study from some medical university in Korea about seizure medication in people with post viral illness. It was very anecdotal, they noticed it in a patient and produced some research and report, but got me curious. I definitely felt a difference when I stopped the medication.

In answer to your question.. not yet as at 60yrs. old bleeds and bruising are far easier than in my 20's-30's I don't want to increase that trend. again I know it's not easy producing these channels so a tip of my hat and a HUGE THANK YOU

Hi, it's Bruce Elder in Australia again. I have been listening to your lectures on POT. I find this disease most debilitating . Not only just the standing problems but many episodes of anxiety when in company with others. I cannot Cary out most menial tasks like gardening without feelings of exhaustion and then have to sit down to get relief. Also you are correct about finding the right words when conversing or trying to spell a most simple word. My long term memory is excellent. I have a class photo when I was 6 years old and can still remember most of the other kids, names and faces. To make things worse I have osteo in most joints. I'm 79 old and have had hip and shoulder replacements. I heard once in theory that the cerebellum could have been disturbed possibly by a blow to the head. When I was about 10 old a kitchen cabinet fell on my head causing loss of blood and severe laceration to the top of my head. Anyhow I could go on for hours. I find your lectures most enjoyable. Everything you say about ET is exactly my problem.

Here, finding this video after concern and searching for anything related to sudden onset tremors related to COVID. ...2 years after this video was published. I came down with (began symptoms) covid a week and a half ago. Tested positive a couple days after symptom onset. negative test yesterday and starting to feel better without fever. Today, suddenly when I tried to lift something slightly heavy I noticed a sudden tremors in my hand and arm when I gripped. I figured I am just weak from being sick. I paused and tried again, tremor again. I waited a while and tried to forget about it then grabbed a half gallon of liquid, tremor again. So I sat down and tried a few things that didn't require lifting or strength, persay. The tremor is replicated when I simply squeeze my hand. I just did the postural tremor test, lifting my hands above my head...no tremor from that. Going to keep looking at info and keeping an eye on this sudden neurological sign. Thanks for your video!

Hi, my doctor prescribes statins rosuvastatin (Crestor) for cholesterol control. After a year I developed what could be similar to Alzheimer's symptoms.I had difficulty remembering things ( 15 minutes of memory ).I had been tested with the Montreal test and they said that I could have the beginning of Alzheimer's. Well after that I went to the internet google and TH-cam and from there some TH-cam doctors told in a video that statins were affecting cholesterol and that the brain made up 50% of it. Guest what I stopped taking those statins and 2 weeks after I didn't have any symptoms. A real miracle, I could have continue taking that medicine and have bad symptoms for the reste of my life. TH-cam hadn't made me realize what could have been the source of my problem. No thanks to my doctor and his staff. I could be a lot less healthy today. LESSON : STATINE ARE NOT WITHOUT RISK!

You are a blessing- I’ve been dealing with the loss of my husband , who passed nearly 8 years ago. After 50 years together, he was my best friend and my lover - father of our 5 living now adult children. I believe I was trying to go through the motions of “ moving on” with my life and it is recently collapsing around me. I’ve been to grief counseling, bereavement groups, and SSRI’s - I am a retired RN and I just said enough- I tapered of the med slowly- my MD said I could just stop- I said NO. I knew that was not a viable strategy. I have all the “symptoms “ you so clearly describe and will discuss a possible sleep study with my primary next month. I also say that I have no trouble sleeping- I fall right to sleep without any pharmaceutical help and without ETOH. But my focus has become increasingly absent and my memory vague. Thank you so much for your clear and useful words and advice.

I have FND, had significant child abuse and grew up in an unstable home and my dad left me as a young child. I had very severe anxiety attacks that started after my childhood dog died and then right prior to the FND developing, I went through a very horrific period of being pregnant and tormented by my evil mother in law, being a full time college student and then having a pretty hard birth and post partum period where my tailbone broke in birth then I had an extremely hard time breast feeding and developed clogged ducts that turned into mastitis and I wasnt producing enough for my baby and had to stop breastfeeding, AND we had to move as soon as my baby was born. I see exactaly how this happened. I went through some sh*t and my brain just shut down. I now have seizure like episodes, crazy flailing movements, severe fatigue, loss of speech, the left side of my body stops working, eyes roll around in my head and alot of other weird symptoms. Sigh, its an unfortunate thing that had to happen.

I don't understand why more funding isn't utilized for more essential or viable stroke recovery , most people will not recieve assistance in time and if they survive they are facing one of the most challenging obstacles to recover ... oh that's right , you need fresh faces to replace those who are exiting either through expiration or insurance won't extend coverage , It's evil but let's face it , there is a much larger abundance of money to be acquired when one is in a sickly state.

You’re not sure why the Journals favor a certain drug… gabapentin. I’m sure they get kickbacks from the drug company. The drug is a nightmare. It’s given to the elderly to keep them quiet in nursing homes, used for alcohol withdrawal. Dr tried putting my dad on it…..nope. Every other person I know is on it. Try Tianeptine for pain or kratom. You don’t see the DEA trying to ban Neurontin. To much money lost. Tianeptine and kratom is the way to go at least for me. Just because the FDA says something is approved means nothing. They are all in bed with the pharmaceutical companies and government. They are actually kind of useless.

I just took in your lecture of POT dated 4 years ago. I am in Australia and it is the 25th July 24. Everything you spoke of is exactly what my present condition is.. I was diagnosed by Associate professor Robert Heard of North Gosford private hospital, central coast NSW. On the year 2008. I have been taking clonazepam and lyrica ever since my diagnosis. I mentioned the drug parapanol (excuse my spelling) to doctor heard and he had not heard of it. He did write me a prescription for it but told me not to get it just yet until he made further enquiries. He did not get back to me. My initial tests for the shakings were off the chart. It is most debilitating and prevents me from even doing the most simplest things like gardening. I get anxious and feelings of complete exhaustion brought on by any manual activity. Everything you say about this condition is correct. I will make further enquiries re the drug. I'm 79 old and I was around 60 old when diagnosed. Why do doctors keep prescribing this medicine if it's so dangerous? My husband and I are both on it and we are not any better with it than without it. I think we should stop taking most of the medicines that we are on. They're useless.

Stem cell therapy is to help those endogenous stem cells to clear away so-called inhibitory molecules so that its regenerative potentials can be triggered for regeneration. God's mercy nano-medication that's based on God created man out of an extract of clay from ground should be the only stem cell therapy. Central pontine hemorrhagic stroke, SAH, etc. are cured by nano-medication. In other words, all stroke patients can be cured by nano-medication. All glory belongs to God !
