That was an excellent masterclass on the brain and sleep issues. I learned about sleep hygiene a few years ago (b4 covid) and it's still a struggle. My fitbit helps with sleep also but I'm one of those polka-dot unicorns bc I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Double winner! Even if I sleep for 10 hours I still wake up tired. I haven't found the right combination to make this work for me. But I'll keep working on it and listening to your sessions here on TH-cam. Thank you ❣️
Thank you for all these tips. I have FND and struggle with sleep. My neuro team started me on Remeron recently and I’m getting more sleep than I was getting but I’m still having to get up through the night for the bathroom even though I stop my liquids 2 hours before sleep. I’m signed up for a cognitive behavioral sleep classes to start in June. Thank again I really enjoy all of your videos and the understanding of the brain.
Thank you for so many informative videos. I have 85% blockage in one nasal passage & severe drainage in the other. Added are debilitating neck & back injuries that force me to sleep on the right side. The same pillow for over 10 years {ewhhhh}. Pain wakes me up 5-6 times a nite. I'm so tired when I sit down to eat after work, I'll nod off with a plate in front of me. Upside I'm cutting calories. I miss my 20s when I could sleep until noon.
Your brain series has been so educational and I am so very grateful to you for the time and energy you put into each and every video. There is one thing I would suggest you have your patients with mild sleep apnea try as I personally have had great success with it. There are actual exercises for sleep apnea on TH-cam that target areas of the face, neck and throat that can cause symptoms of sleep apnea. My absolute favorite is one by Adam Fields, DC. 😊 I hope your viewers/listeners will give them a try and I pray everyone gets a great night of sleep. You are not alone in your struggles! ❤
I’m curious what data you’re using when you talk about stage 3-4 sleep. The American academy of sleep medicine has merged stage 3-4 almost 10 years ago.
I have been using a CPAP for over a decade. Last year, I received a new CPAP. My frustration is that I am still exhausted thru out the day. My machine reports I am continually experiencing 6 events an hour. Is there new information available to treat cases like mine? Or are we still blaming pain for all the nightly events?

Please watch the vid. The #1 cause is excess weight. (That's what I'm working on.) She lists others. 🌺
