Not familiar with the Katana, but IMHO and experience tube amps are always louder than solid state amps. Hope that helps.

Hey @TheRumbles13, my ADA cab had two 16 ohm speakers, so when I ordered a 16 ohm V30 as a replacement. I went with a 16 ohm so that it would match. IMHO it depends on what you are looking for out of your cab and that your amp will match it. To ensure there is no damage to your amp I would recommend testing it with a volt meter, at the speaker cable end going into the amp, before plugging your amp in to verify that your cab is either 4, 8, or 16 ohms and have your amp set the matching ohm setting to match the ohms of the cab. Hope that helps

@@X9Eric luckily the amp was brand new and under warranty still with the store. They checked the seven preamp tubes and power tubes in a tube checker, both power tubes were busted, 3 preamp tubes were showing Worn / bad. Re-tube the entire amp... Seems to be working okay now but my only concern is why so many tubes went bad, only a week and a half old!

Hey @PK22-b7v, please check out my channel and compare videos from both models. I love both amps but I sold the 50w for the 100w. I LOVE the 100w. The 100 is voiced more modern and is more versatile IMHO. Hope that helps!

I love it! I was told by my luthier that they are different from the originals which were pretty bad. I did have to have mine re-fretted. A level would not repair how bad the guitar was. It would not stay in tune and developed dead frets. I was going to make a video on it, still might. But a re-fret later the guitar sounds great, stays in tune. Be careful of QC on these guitars would be my only caution, hope that helps and you find a good one!

@roybenavidez6098 What I found makes all the difference is the 6L6 power tubes. I bought the Ironball SE first, and it had EL84 tubes. It sounded great but small on palm mutes. Then I bought the FB25, and you hear the results!

@X9Eric yes, I've been hearing about the 6l6 tubes have more thump. I'm still learning about tube amps.

@@roybenavidez6098 IMHO and experience I have learned that I prefer EL34 or 6L6 power tubes as they provide the a sound!
