A Road Paved With Apache Tears?
Embark on an amazing road trip with us as we explore the captivating world of Eastern Oregon and hunt for "A Road Paved with Apache Tears." In this rockhounding expedition, we aim to collect Jasper, Agate, and especially larger Apache tears that are perfect for tumbling. These shiny gems, a unique variety of obsidian, are loved by rock collectors and lapidary artisans alike. Join us as we discover a great location for collecting and also uncover historical artifacts from those who were here before us.

Here is another video from our vacation time back in October, when we were camping in the Warm Springs reservoir area. Amazingly, we were blessed with yet another incredible day of rockhounding on this little treck in south central Oregon.

We go north up over the Cascade Mountains near Crater Lake, west down to Prospect, Lost Creek Lake, and Crowfoot Road and south to Worthington Road in the Rogue Valley, before returning back home on Hwy. 140.

Through this, you can monetize the channel, due to which you can earn money from TH-cam.
Brand new to your videos, and I know this is going to sound weird, but you make me feel less alone in the world. My mom was my only family, and we used to take road trips years ago rockhounding and exploring off the beaten path gathering up geodes, fossils, etc. We visited 32 states and two countries checking out the rocks and other natural sights. Mom died a few years ago and I have no other family, so it's been lonely for me. But watching your videos brings me back to happier times. Definitely subscribing and going to follow along on your future adventures!

I have something id like to say out of kindness. It’s not safe to have a revolver on the dash. if it falls it may strike the hammer and force the hammer to strike the transfer pin and potentially hurt or kill someone. Also on that note.. I had someone report me for having a pistol on my dash back in the day and the police confenscated my pistol “in Oregon” and I had to go through the ringer to get it back. Yes I understand your trying to open carry, but please consider what I am saying for yours and others safety.
Thank you for your concern! I appreciate the advice. Though I do believe that with the Ruger transfer bar system, that doesn’t engage until the hammer is cocked, and my holster, that locks down the hammer, my revolver quite secure, I can’t abide the thought of it falling and tumbling around in my cab. I will seek a way to secure it or better yet, pursue a CWP.

You are correct, we associated them with Priday because this is the same location that we used to go to for Priday Polk-a-Dot Agate and I didn’t remember what the Thunder-eggs are called. Thanks for the clarification.

Hey, follow some of your videos and whatnot. Was wondering if you ever been down in Jenny Creek, Copco area of Southern Oregon? Been thinking of making a trip there once the snow subsides.
@@Zipadelli Yes we tried hunting Jenny creek and a couple of places on the north side of Copco. We first tried to access Jenny Creek from the north, off Hwy 66, but hit locked gates. So we went all the way around to access it from the Copco end, but we had lost a lot of time by then it was quite hot and we found a trail up the creek impassable not far from parking area. There must be another access but we didn’t have time to keep looking and didn’t find any gemstones there nor at the lake pullouts we checked.
@@krawdadandrusty bummer, its an area I do want to check out. Different note, just got back from Worthington today, got quite a big piece of petrified wood.

@@juliarichmond5904 Thank you! We Polish big rocks with a 4” angle grinder that has a built in water feed. We start with course hard diamond discs to get the surface level then work through a series of 50 to 3000 grit diamond/resin discs. It is quite a bit of work and very wet, so it is best in warm weather. I told Ruth that I need to record her doing the whole process. She might go for it…

I just bought a home in Chiloquin .... The old homeowner said they knew you and I was like I know him I watch his videos all the time. Going to sign my wife and I up for the Kalamath rock club. Were members of WAMS. We have a giant work shed I plan on doing cutting and cabbing videos. Would love to meet up with you and go hounding. Could hold the camera for ya.

I know some people that go rockhounding just to get a lot of material or really good pieces and they are not happy if they don't get what they went out to look for. I am happy to just get out and enjoy the day and the beautiful area that I am at. And if I find some good pieces that is a bonus. God gave us this beautiful planet to relax and enjoy it. You were in a beautiful area and had a beautiful day, plus you found some pieces, that is a perfect fossil hunt to me. Great video!

Hello again. My ex-wife and I were there in 2022 and from the power pole and the fence below, we were on the same path way as you were on. We found a spot and dug hard for about 5 hours. We found a total of 2 small partial leaves and 1 piece of a fern about an inch long. But we had a good time doing it. God bless you brother. Mac

These guys are in a premier location I hope that that works to their advantage, the business of owning a rock shop can be a hard one I've been told, but they are in the center hub of obsidian Opal Sunstone agate petrified wood and Jasper hunting zones that people travel from around the nation to go to, I hope I can make it by in the near future and check out what they got going on thanks for sharing!
I waist this town once in 1995 after wrecking vehicle north on the highway, they towed us in, pumped up tires, fed and sheltered us, good folk !!
