Well, we did try them in a rifled barrel, rifled choke, and a smooth bore in this video and they still were terrible. There's no way that the "sabot" they were using would ever hold up and consistently withstand being fired through a rifled barrel, that's why they just flat out suck

Ebay would probably be your best bet. You may be able to find one on Gunbroker or in a parts bin at your local small gun shop, but I would have a look on Ebay

I haven't tried any of the newer Tascos, but this one is probably 30 or more years old and it has always done just fine for me. It's definitely a very bare bones scope, but it works just fine for what it's used for

That's kinda been what I've heard about them too. They are ok, but nothing great for most people

If you're looking for slugs, Brenneke is usually a pretty good bet. You can get good results from Federal and Remington and others, but Brenneke generally does well through most setups with a good majority of their slugs

Yeah, that could have made a little bit of a difference at the longer ranges, but I think the sights were much more of a limiting factor in this case

Yeah, I definitely want to test some some those as well, so we'll see what I can get out of them whenever I find some

@@matttyreeoutdoors Rio also made the same combination. They are 9 pellet 1 buck while 12 gauge is 9 pellet 00 buck.My question is would there still be a ninth pellet flyer?

Yes. They are not the cheapest shells by a long shot, but their performance is worth the price if you needed a shell like this to hunt with

The Hornady shells didn't do great in my test. I expected to see a lower velocity than what the box claims due to our barrel length, and the chrono is working fine. It can just get a little tricky to get accurate velocity readings sometimes when you're firing slugs across it

Yeah, it definitely would not feel very good, but overpenetration would be a real factor there. The recoil is noticeable, but not unbearable. It just kinda feels like a Longbeard turkey shell

Yep, that just goes to show how much better TSS is than lead or steel, not to discredit their capabilities, but TSS is in a different world. I guarantee you that a lead T pellet would have never made it past 2, maybe 3 jugs max at 50 yards. The density that these big TSS pellets have it really the ticket

@@antonelloromeo2118 it's just your standard steel oil drum, nothing super special. It went completely through the barrel, so in the front side and out the back

Yep, they are definitely super impressive. From what I've heard, I think there is somebody out there that makes larger TSS pellets, but I don't know where you would get them. With how these performed, those would be pretty ridiculous I'm sure

Well, that's not really how it works, especially with shells like this. Yes, if you over constrict them, you will have issues. But that's kinda the reason why I made this video is to show that less constriction isn't gonna help these shells like some people think. We've seen better performance through tighter chokes in our other tests, so these just seem to be a pretty disappointing load more than anything
