Matt, I knew you would get it done because you are a thorough person. Your equipment is set up properly , your distances are known and I like the fact you are an ethical hunter by passing up the fawns.👍👍👍🇺🇸✌🏻🙏🏽😎
Thanks! I always try and do what is best for the deer and the herd. Glad you enjoyed!
Got to love slugs, straight drop, no chasing in the woods
Yep, it definitely got the job done
Nice. Now let's see some buckshot for the next hunt.
Ditto,with yardages!😅
That's something I'd definitely like to film, so we'll see what happens as the season goes on
Congratulations brother, just like that..... Meat in the freezer, amazing blessing!
Yep, she's definitely gonna put some food on the table
Ol' girl almost busted you when you clicked off that safety 💥🦌
Yeah, it kinda looked like that, but the camera was only a couple inches away from the shotgun which made it seem a lot louder than it really was. She would have never heard it at that range. I don't know what she was kinda skittish about to be honest
You are 5 star when it comes to ethics and hunting , clean kill, and not getting too axious. Great job I bet that one will be tasty. I did notice the one deer was really frale and I could see the ribs showing.. Animals like people sometimes have issues , it looked like a small doe one of the first ones you had come out on the bean field. I have the 870 you have but with a smooth bore and tru glo sights , have the scope mount also and hope to get that on this winter. , good job. great filming.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! I have always tried to do what is best for the deer and the herd. You can't always be as selective with your opportunities, but I try and make the best decisions I can and not force a shot that isn't really there
I think the button buck had some growths on him, nice hunt that will make for some great tablefare, congratulations Matt !!
Yeah, he definitely had something strange going on. She will absolutely make some great steaks!
Great Video and She went down like a sack of rocks.
Yep! Glad you enjoyed
Great hunt Matt, I appreciate the time you take to put these together.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Hunting in Virginia it's a labor of love win or lose!
Yep, you could literally run into almost any kind of situation here! You just never know what's gonna happen
I enjoyed that Hunt Matt good shootin!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Good eatin' there.
Yep, for sure!
I really appreciate the yardage infos ! Congrats! Rick of Orange
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Good job. You did it congratulations.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Nice work especially with the 18.5” barrel she didn’t move one inch.
Yep, it definitely got the job done alright!
The fawns hang with the doe until she is ready to drop her next batch of fawns. My personal cut off is if the fawns still has spots. Which in the SE, is a VERY real possibility.
Typically in my area, the fawns separate by Halloween. They would definitely have been fine, it's just something I've always done
I javent even been able to hunt yet its been way to hot and work is pilling up right now cause of the hurricane here in western north Carolina
I've been pretty busy so far this season as well. I've had to take whatever opportunity I can get
I've never hunted with a slug gun before. I just picked up a rifled slug barrel for my Mossberg 935. I want to drill and tap the receiver so I can mount a scope
Yeah, it can definitely be pretty fun!
And the "wounds" on that young buck are not wounds. Look up "deer cutaneous fibroma".
That definitely could be the case. It was just in the perfect place to make it look like he could have had an arrow go through him or something. Just kinda strange that they would be perfectly lined up like that
What county are you huntin in?
