Join us as we highlight all our experiences whilst travelling the beautiful countries within Africa. We do Vehicle based wildlife explorationa and Overlanding has been in our family for generations.
Martin, Zhanté and their 6-year-old Miané embark on adventures all over the Southern parts of Africa to explore remote wild places. Our focus is to explore wildlife areas and share these experiences with as many people as we can. Hopefully, this encourages others to also embark on these journeys.
We enjoy chasing sunsets in as many distinct locations as possible, but we will always return to our favorite destinations as well.
With this channel, we can share some of the epic places we have travelled to, unique wildlife encounters, and experiences that we have had on our self-drive expeditions and Overlanding trips.
We will share wildlife scenes, travelling videos, and dashcam footage giving a full experience of the adventures that we go on.

Another BOTSWANA Adventure - Limpopo River Lodge - Episode 1
We are back in Botswana, again. We are constantly asked why we keep on visiting the same places over and over again. The truth is that with each visit, the experience is completely different, and we never get to fully explore the vast areas that Botswana has to offer.
This trip was rather different, and it proved to be one of our best-ever trips to the various places that we visited. We started at Limpopo River Lodge in the Tuli area, and this served as a great introduction to what was about to unfold in the following couple of weeks where we went to the Vast open spaces around Kubu Island and had dust creep into every area imaginable. We then stayed at our favorite campsite in the Khwai region, Khwai Safari Grounds. Unfortunately, we had to do a few water crossings here, but nothing too bad. We are not fans of water crossings and try to avoid them as far as possible, in these instances, it was worth the reward, and we found a lot of wildlife waiting for us on the other side.
We then headed to the Khwai Magotho camp where we were welcomed by some dogs through our campsite. Here we also came across an abundance of predators. And Leopard was all over the place.
Our next stop would be Savuti. Here, the predators weren’t shy as well
We had to traverse some really thick sand between Savute Linyanti and Kasane.
But lets start at the beginning - Limpopo River Lodge
The roads, or well, lack thereof approaching the Platjan border made us very excited. Like we always say, “The adventure starts way before you reach your destination.” And reaching the end of the tarred road made us very excited to air down the tires….. but we first had to do all the admin at the border. And crossing the Limpopo. It is almost as exhilarating as hitting the first gravel road in Botswana.
The adventurous roads started immediately after crossing the border. Most probably the worst roads in Botswana
Isn’t this what it is all about? Traveling difficult roads for long distances, and also spending a lot of your hard-earned cash on accessories for your overlanding rig, just to get here… Well, it was time for us to enjoy it….
We noticed quite a lot of crocs swimming about at night
A lot of time was spent at our campsite trying to relax, but the endless calls of the eqyptian goose got the better of us… so we decided to rather go and explore the area.
The campsites are not very far apart, but you do get a wild camp feeling, and the ablutions are some of the bests compared to other rustic campsites
The Campsites are situated on the banks of the Limpopo River in the Tuli Block, providing the perfect getaway, especially for bird lovers. The ideal setting to lose yourself in nature's peace and tranquillity. Limpopo River Lodge offers chalets and rondavels as well as 6 campsites and a bush camp. You get proper ablutions with hot showers and flush toilets. Each site has a braai area and fire pit. It is all very well maintained. The roads are slow going, but fun. You definitely need a vehicle with high clearance to travel these roads.
It was unfortunately time to pack up and adventure towards our next destination. Limpopo River Lodge Campsites will definitely see us again very soon.

In July of 2023, we decided to do something a bit different from our normal bush wild type of camping. So, we visited Dinokeng, Sondela and Mabalingwe Nature Reserve. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision and we still had to pack in the morning, leaving Nelspruit only around 11 and arriving at Tau gate, to enter Dinokeng, just before 4 o clock in the afternoon. This was winter which meant it got...

This video is from a visit to the Kruger National Park in November 2022. We made last-minute bookings and only managed to find a camping spot at the main camp Skukuza. The sand eels of the lizard kingdom
Yup
@@OurLifeInAfrica I love the fact that they actually have a sally-forth feeding style. Not to mention they actually look like sand eels with position of eye and mouth, crazy case of convergent evolution!
Wow what a nice informative video, I just came home from a camping trip and want to go again after checking your video😁
Camping is addictive. Also just returned from the Kruger but already want to go and camp again. Thanks for the comment
Nice video. Broke the same bolt on Companion on the same road! Will be visiting Limpopo River....thanks! Keep it up!
That alignment bolt has become a headache for us on a few trips. I carry a spare with me now. Thanks for watching
Looks like this is going to be an epic adventure. Let the good times roll. Can't wait for the rest of the adventure
Thanks. It was really epic. Can’t wait to share it.
Another great video Martin! Your images, music and narration stirs emotions that can only be quenched with another visit to Africa.
Thanks Kevin. You must come and visit Africa again to quench the adventurous emotions. Thanks again for watching
Great vid, thank you. Limpopo River Lodge is just fantastic. On our last trip we stayed in the chalets and they were epic. Looking forward to E2👍👍

I really enjoyed watching this...please post more episodes
Thanks. Will be uploading soon
You couldn't said it better, I am always asked why I am always going to Kruger National Park every year. Thank you for your well edited videos as always. I have finally bought myself a small comfortable Camp Trailer. I have been missing out. Thank you for the inspiration
The Kruger is such a great place as well. Our next trip is going there actually. The editing does take time, but it is fun to see what we have seen and almost reliving it. Thanks for watching and hope your trailer will bring you a lot of great experiences
Wonderful video. Would be great if you could give more detail for those of us looking to plan a similar trip. Gpx file or nap of route, rough costs, km done fuel cost etc. Thanks for taking us on your trip we hope to do something very similar in 2025
Hi. Thanks for the comment and suggestion. Will keep that in mind for future videos. Good luck with the planning and prep for 2025. It is gonna be epic.
