There are some monsters living in this deep hole in the Meramec River, and I've got the bloody bait that's gonna draw them out! I'm using cut gizzard shad for bait. Gizzard shad are a staple food source for catfish, bass, gar, and many other predatory fish living in rivers and lakes. Once cut into pieces, shad provide a lovely blood catfish and other fish can't resist. I'm counting on that happening on this trip, and let me tell you it does in the way of two new personal bests!
