    Darn it. It gets pretty complicated and I am quite stuck. So, long story short - I'm a teacher and a journalist and I need a camera for both jobs. Something that will suffice for 5-6 hours per day of online conferences as well as occassional interview recordings. But that overheating problem seems to rule out Canon V10 for me entirely as I am going to, very likely, fry that poor device very fast. On that note, do you have anything that you could recommend me?

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It is challenging for any camera to operate for 5-6 hours per day. Additionally, if you need a camera of a similar size, finding the right one becomes even more difficult. In any case, I would recommend going for a standard mirrorless camera, buying multiple batteries for when you're on the go, and a compatible dummy battery for continuous power. That said, the most affordable option is the Sony ZV-E10. A mini pocketable tripod, like the Joby HandyPod, could also be useful. There’s a video about this camera shutting off due to low battery (not overheating) after 1 hour and 30 minutes of recording at 4K, both outdoors and at room temperature. In 4K, the camera is more prone to overheating, and the battery drains faster, whereas in full HD, the camera handles better. I hope this helps! Extra info: the camera can be used as a webcam with no additional software required - just an usb-c cable is needed. Hope this helped!

      @@cameraexplorations Aye! I really appreciate your generous response. It's a tremendous help. Btw. I've noticed it is a strain on the camera to go for that long as my previous not-so-great Razer Kiyo simply died on me in the middle of the lesson while also buzzing ominously as if there was a short circuit.

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      What you plan to use this camera for is important too. For example, if I needed a camera for streaming, I would honestly avoid both. The V10 can be unreliable, and the Logitech LTZ PRO 2 is a large camera designed for conference calls in corporate settings, with less-than-great image quality. For live streaming, I would choose a reliable camera with a large sensor, like the Sony ZV-E10, and use a dummy battery. That would be a much better setup.

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      These types of cameras with interchangeable lenses, don't have a digital zoom - everything is optical, done by the type of lens you put in front of it. There are fixed (or prime) lenses and zoom lenses; so you just need a camera with interchangeable lenses that has a zoom lens attached or one of those compact cameras (like the Canon G7x).

    Do you think Nikon d5000 is still good now ❓

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Nikon D5000 is a 15-year-old camera, with technology from that time, as it was released in 2009. It still performs well in photography, thanks to its large APS-C sensor. A beginner can learn photography with it, and it could also be a good camera for vacation photos. However, its video capabilities are limited, as it can only record in 720p.

    • @cameraexplorations

      Both cameras don't have good AF on video. In fact, only the newer MFT cameras have reliable a reliable AF on video. If you want reliable AF, go for a Canon recent mirrorless camera. If you still want a MFT one, In the same budget, I would pick the G80 (or G85), since it comes with IBIS and has 4K video quality same as the G7. All the best!

    If it was about 150 bucks with a lens, I'd buy it. But for $300 on ebay with no lens... without IBIS... that missing feature is kind of a deal killer. I'm like come on camera industry, how hard is it to make a 1080p 30fps camera with stabilization at a low price that every YT content creator wants? That's literally all it has to do, but do it well, at dirt cheap street price.

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It is a camera from 2016 that has held its price over the years (unfortunately). There weren’t too many cameras with IBIS back then; nonetheless, a cheap Canon camera with IBIS would be great, I understand your needs. I guess we’ll have to wait for that good-inexpensive camera, as the Canon R7 is way too expensive. Until then, we’ll have to make the best of what we’ve got.

Sony has more third-party lens and equipment opinions. They newer ones seem to have a better dynamic range for post-processing than the canon. I could be wrong, and I'm spiraling. I'll just end up getting frustrated with my information gathering and pick one based on something stupid in the end or the price

      I would also like a G9 or a GH5. I was constantly checking prices for these two cameras on the used market. Then I noticed that I don't actually need 4K video, thanks to my video editing software, DaVinci Resolve, which can nicely upscale Full HD videos to 4K. So, for me at least, the good and sharp Full HD video of the G90 is sufficient. I only switch to 4K video recording from time to time.

    I liked my M50 a lot, it was my light camera next to my 5Ds and R5 but sold it because 1. They never made an M5II (viewfinder), 2. I think 32Mpix on APS-C is a waste of data and it renders most great full frame lenses average, 3. I couldn't justify having so many lenses with different mounts (and adapters). So I got an R10 and sold my beloved tiny lenses (23 f2!). The R10 might be a better overall camera but not much better for photography at all and I miss the form factor (and the 23mm lens!!). The M6II didn't fit the bill either but with a viewfinder and 2 dials I would have bought it to replace my M50 in the blink of an eye.

      Since the Canon M6 Mark II came out, I’ve said to myself 'What more could I need from a camera?' - It is excellent now and will be good enough many years from now, so I completely understand why this camera is your choice for as long as it lasts. You also chose some nice lenses. All the best to you! Enjoy your gear!

    Does it over heat? Ive been doing some research and im seeing everyone cant record more than a couple minutes without it overheating. But everyone reviewing seems to be able to do videos/vlogs on them without that issue

      I made a new clip about the V10 on this channel, where I conduct an overheating test. You can find the link to it in the first pinned comment of this video.

    Please tell me a good old camera for product videos and photography. Of course video quality, auto focus and fps is important, but I don't have big budget that's why I'm asking for an old cameras but with good video performance. Thank u.

      I guess we all want an inexpensive camera with great features, but this can be difficult since great features usually come with a higher price tag. However, I think a good job can be done with a used Canon 80D. If you can raise your budget a bit, consider the Canon R50-an excellent little camera with great features. Just get the EF to EOS R adapter for it, which gives access to all Canon DSLR lenses and that's it. This last option comes with no compromises for its price.

      @@cameraexplorations I'm going for R50. That's the best camera in this price range. It has almost everything I want in a camera. Thank you so much for the guidance 👍. You really helped me to make a decision.

    I am primarily an Olympus/OM System shooter. I picked up the G7 a few months ago because I wanted another Micro 4/3 body that was relatively cheap and lightweight. I was able to buy the G7 new for $500. I am pleasantly surprised by this camera's handling and image quality, particularly for video.

    For exclusive photography is 80d better than 90d ? I'm undecided between the two

      There are better performances on the 90D, it is a newer model, that is also more expensive.

    Thank you for the review. You got some nice shots. How did you focus for the photo of the long street with the car? Are the samples jpegs or raws and did you do much editing? Your comments when photographing yourself in the mirror window were very funny 😄

      Thank you! Glad you liked my video! I do minor adjustments to each photo: a small crop/straightening, if needed, and slightly more saturation and brightness, that's it. Cheers!

    continuous auto-focus turned me off from fuji, i started my fuji's fanboy path with XH1, then quickly switched to XPro3 (then i bought and sell both multiple time with all the X100 and XE series in between), i loved XPro3 a lot, and it was okay while i shoot in single AF or in manual modes, but once i become a father of toddler it showed it flaws... unfortunately... so i tried leica SL2S and even it was almost destroyed by every single photographer because its AF - i switched to it, because even this' camera AF was waaaaaaay ahead of any fuji's camera i used prior, but i miss fuji's SOOC jpegs a lot

      Thanks for the comment! Maybe the new Fuji models will get better continuous AF. Even if it remains 2 years behind Sony's and Canon's AF, it will still be good.

    I have had many Fuji cameras and from the X series I have owned (or still own) Xe1, XT100, XT1, XT2, XT20 and now use two XH1s. I don't seem to have experienced any focussing issues, but I never have the need to use tracking. I also have two battery grips, so if battery life will be an issue I fix one on the camera. Made in Japan, the cameras in 2024 are still giving amazing results at less cost than the XH2 etc. Both bodies cost me less than one secondhand X100V. For sure there will be better, more modern cameras, with more bells and whistles - but not at the price of a good XH1

    I'm considering buying a used X-H1 at the moment and I did wondered about battery life, so guess it's a spare battery. I generally only use single shot not continuous so that shouldn't be a problem I guess. The other pros' make it seem worth going ahead.

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its main downsides are its large size (if you want high portability), slow focusing (not good for tracking/sports photography), and high energy consumption (you definitely need at least three batteries for a four-hour photowalk). Other than these issues, it is a great camera.

    Is OM Systems going to upgrade this camera and give it the OM1 and OM5 treatment or phase it out?

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations หลายเดือนก่อน

      OM System has the answer to that, probably. The E-M10 Mark IV has some upgrades, when compared to the Mark III, but we must remember that all camera manufacturers implement "intentional limitations" on their lower-end models - a practice known as market segmentation. Nonetheless, even entry-level models are becoming quite potent over time. For example, look at Canon with their R50, which is a significant step up from the M50. Most likely, OM System will release a great E-M10 Mark V, but "intentional limitations" due to market segmentation will always be present across all camera brands.
