The Best Bang For Your Buck? Canon 6D (PROs and CONs)
This is a review of the Canon 6D, evaluating whether it is still a good option to buy today, considering it features a Full Frame sensor.
The Canon 6D is one of those cameras I consider legendary for its time because, with its capabilities, it helped photographers capture more shots, making photography less frustrating and more enjoyable.

Some Cameras are Anti-Photography - I`m back to Olympus
I'm a professional Nikon photographer. I like Nikon lenses and cameras are the best. The Nikon D3 is probably the best camera. It's a sports camera but it takes really good photos. I'm just taking photos on my Motorola G5 phone my camera phone. . Once I master my phone camera I'll go back taking photos on my camera.
Good for you! Congrats and enjoy your Motorola G5!
@cameraexplorations thank you
After this video prices on eBay have skyrocketed for this camera!!!
If so, I believe there are other factors besides this video from a small TH-cam channel, which doesn’t even have 2,000 subscribers at the moment.
great video, you explained everything great
Thank you!
I hope I could get a GFX for 300usd 😂
Yeah, that would great! 😁
I have a D5600 I bought it new and it came with 2 lenses. I like it and it takes beautiful photos is lightweight in comparison to the older more professional models. It is great for astrophotography and is a great little learner camera.
Totally agree!
What Nikon camera do you recommend a beginner to buy for videos?
For video, I recommend considering one of Nikon's recent mirrorless cameras from the Z series. Nikon has significantly improved the autofocus capabilities for video on these newer models.
Everything sucks here in the us. Market is crazy
If so, I’m sorry to hear that. I haven’t been keeping up with US prices for used products lately.
Good, useful information on the X-H1, thanks. I keep thinking about buying that camera but I'm now worried if you say there are focusing issues with it. I don't do video and I'm not really interested in firing in bursts for multiple photos either. Is the focusing really an issue for single shot photos. The battery aspect is not too much of a problem, as I usually recharge overnight and probably only get about 100 pics a day. I'm an old amateur but with very steady hands. Do you think the X-T3 is a better bet for single shot still photos, or maybe the X-T4 better still. I won't be able to afford the X-T5 and it would probably be wasted on me and my ageing computer anyway. Thanks again and regards.
It's nice to hear that my video was helpful! Thanks for sharing this! Regarding autofocus, Fujifilm has significantly improved their autofocus on newer models. The X-H1 and X-T3 were both released in 2018, and there's not much of a difference between the two in this aspect. However, the X-T4, released in 2020, is definitely the best of the three.
I have this camera, it got wet in rain, i cleaned ASAP and was able to salvage it. Regarding the lense issue there are some excellent third party lenses from Artisans, Sigma, Viltrox etc..
Thank you mirrorless Now i can bought semipro DSLRs with rarely used condition for under $50❤
It’s so when you hand the camera to your partner or kids, they can just hit the red button and it will start filming in default usable settings. Not some crazy formulas you were playing with that morning. You need to switch to video on the dial to get all your saved customization. ツ
That's a good scenario where the camera's default video settings really come in handy. :)
But wich one to Buy with 100$ 😂
It can be challenging to find a DSLR camera for $100, but if you visit a website like MPB, you will find quite a few options. A Canon 50D, 60D, or 7D would be great choices if you're looking to get into photography.
I transfered the D5600 to a Infrared. Super IR camer . .
Nice!
if your activity only indoor no weather sealed no problem. if your activity is outdoor, weathersealed is important, because dust, water splashes and air humidity can affect the camera
Thanks for your input!
What lens is best for a beginner wanting to use this camera and wanting to get into photography and possibly filmmaking for about £200 / $250
Fujifilm offers a versatile lens suitable for both photography and filmmaking: the Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS. If you check the MPB website, you can find a few options priced around $250 USD.
@ Thanks for the advice
How many pictures do you think you could take before you drain out the battery
Approx. 290 is mentioned on one of Canon's official websites (Canon Cyprus).
The Canon PowerShot V10 is a special camera with its 6.6mm lens and f 2.8 aperture. I also have them myself: the Canon Eos r100, r10 and the r8. She has a very special place with me. just like the Canon eos 50d too. Best regands from Nürnberg Germany.
My first camera i learn everything was canon 7d also i learn sharp lenses make u take better pictures not only camera it self
Just ordered one, cant wait! watched this before, thank you!
Enjoy it!
That is why lumix is better for video and king for stills olympus
i heared about a new update and the camera should be able to record longer in 4k? any news
I haven't heard anything regarding an update that will allow longer 4k video recording. I see that the latest update is version 1.3, launched in October 2024.
I own 6D, It’s a very nice camera and I agree with everything you said except for the silent shutter. It’s silent shutter is louder than the regular shutter sound. Stop misleading people.
I'm glad you agree with every aspects covered in this video, and I'm sorry to hear that one issue - the silent shutter - prevented it from checking all the boxes for you. I wouldn't say I'm misleading people with that PRO. While it's true that this isn't the quietest silent shutter mode out there (many are more discreet), it is slightly quieter than the normal shutter, just not as much as most of us might expect. Thank you for pointing this out!
İ am using pentax k10d + 18-55 kit lens + 80-205 mm bell&howell lens. want to become a professional photographer. Would it be possible with this camera if I also get a 50mm f/1.2 lens? I don’t enjoy taking photos of people; I’m more interested in landscapes, macro photography, etc.
I am not very familiar with Pentax DSLR lenses, but there are definitely prime lenses with wide aperture openings available. While I’m not sure about f/1.2, a 50mm f/1.8 prime lens should be easy to find. Honestly, f/1.8 is sufficient for low-light situations. Such a prime lens comes highly recommended for any camera brand - it provides good bokeh and is very helpful for night photography. Regarding landscapes, the lenses you already have are good and suitable if you close the aperture between f/8 and f/11. For macro photography, if you can find a compatible macro lens, with manual focus, for your camera, that would be great. You don’t really need autofocus for macro shots. Hope this helps!
@cameraexplorationsCan someone become a professional photographer with this camera? It has a maximum ISO of 1600 and 3 fps. Pentax has two lenses with an f/1.2 aperture. One is analog, and the other is digital but has manual focus only, with aperture adjustment available through the camera. How does one become a professional photographer?
With practice and motivation.
That was a very helpful video presentation. Thank you so much. 😊
That was an excellent video review that you gave of the camera. Thank you very much.😊
Glad it was helpful!
After i wateched all your video about rhe camera i just went to buy for my birthday gift 😅
Happy Birthday! Enjoy it! 😀
Thanks for the review. Just ordered a used one and it is a steal at used pricing. I do not plan on using this as my main pro camera. It will do well as a third back up or travel camera.
It's perfect as a backup or travel camera, and it's great that you found it at a good price! Enjoy!
im a beginner, i just want to take pics of my family and maybe video vlog. i want to print them out to put on my wall. im so basic. just want to make sure this is a good camera to use
Yes, absolutely - no doubt about that. And if you can find it in good shape at a good price, that's a bonus.
@ i actually found it for $400 on ebay then lost the bid 😒 i’ll search for another one, unless you have any other suggestions on something similar/better/great for beginners and maybe is a bit older so it doesn’t cost as much
Great video...thank you for highlighting the camera does not draw power from the USB cable when connected to a computer in webcame mode. HUGE con and a deal breaker for me in purchasing this camera. Too bad as I really liked to the camera's form factor and thought it could work for me as a webcam. As a workaround I could connect it via the micro HDMI port to my "Roland Presentor" that would connect directly to the computer that we allow me to connect the USB C port to a power source thus delivering unlimted power to the camera.
Hi! Also watch my other video "The Canon V10 Solution For Charging and Streaming" - the solution for drawing power from the USB cable is to have a cable with two USB-C heads.
2000d?
Canon 2000D is a good camera for beginners, yes.
I'm looking at getting PS V10 to use as a 4K HDMI camera. Does it overheat when used with Clean HDMI external recording?
Yes, it does
@cameraexplorations Does the V10 overheat recording Clean HDMI externally with a USB C to C cable and USB C power supply? Normal USB power supplies provide +5V where a USB C power supply provides +12V, which produces less heat. This also makes it so you can use the Webcam mode without using the battery. I suspect it's the battery overheating.
This is my camera since 6 years ago and I still love using it now. the results are still gorgeous and I am happy with it.
It's nice to hear that!
I'm looking for a 4K HDMI camera for the studio with ultra-wide angle lens; this one seems perfect for me.
Good to see that this camera fits your needs! Be sure to check out my other video about this camera, 'The Canon V10 Solution for Charging and Streaming,' where I demonstrate that the camera turns off due to overheating after recording in 4K for 15 minutes. If this doesn't bother you, then it's the right camera for you.
@cameraexplorations I don't actually now how well it works an an HDMI camera. Do you know if it runs on battery in HDMI mode? In USB webcam mode it runs on battery and trickle charges, which sucks.
@@CaleMcCollough I haven't used the HDMI mode and don't have the camera anymore to test it, unfortunately; but I'm pretty sure it runs on battery only in HDMI mode.
@cameraexplorations It runs on battery in webcam mode but it does not say about HDMI mode.
Is it possible to transfer photo and video from lumix g7 to android mobile and in how many ways can it be easily transferred to mobile? It is very difficult and difficult to transfer from aap.
LUMIX Sync is the only way I’m aware of to transfer photos and videos directly to an Android device. The only alternative would be to transfer the files to a laptop or PC using a card reader and then move them to the Android device with a cable.
@cameraexplorations Thank you for your advice, I am currently preparing to buy a camera, my first choice is lumix g7, but I don't have a laptop to transfer video photos from android mobile, except that the camera's SD card can be used in mobile. to do
Hi, so you mean you can use it as a webcam and record 4k in live stream mode by usb c without a hdmi video capture card ? I though it was limited to 1080p or limited by your screen size resolution or something like that.
Yes, you don't need a capture card, it is plug and play (like a webcam). It can record in both 4k and Full HD, but I wouldn't advise recording in 4k for extended periods, since it overheats.
love this camera for videography
Why all of your daylight photos are overexposed?
I only see two that are overexposed, and that's when the sky occupies a lot of space in the frame. Either way, these are just quick snaps for fun, taken with a cheap camera to show that you can still have a good time even without expensive gear. That's the goal of the video.
The canon 80D is a wonderful camera today in 2024, I probably miss the IBIS, but you can compensate with good lenses, fast lenses and with IS. Like you said it is build like a tank.
The 80D is one of those legendary cameras. Although the 90D is newer and better (still without IBIS, though), it hasn't stayed in the public's mind like the 80D did. The same goes for the 60D and 70D. While they were good cameras for their time, the 80D has always been the standout star among them.
I had a 80 d and loved it sold it in 2020 I’m going to get another one, loved it !
Nice to hear that you like it so much that you want to get another one! I also miss my Canon 80D. I now have its smaller brother, the 77D, and I’m trying it out, but the 80D is better.
1:03 Incorrect sir. My Galaxy Z Flip 6 flips very well while recording
That's an exception, but indeed, it's a smartphone with a tilting screen. Good for you! Enjoy it!
Great camera. hideous battery life.
I agree.
was considering this as a first camera, this was helpful btw nice voice
Glad I could help and thank you!
protect your investment
Yeah my first camera is the canon 60d a camera from 2010 and it's great although the AF isn't the best it does most things well would recommend
Yes, I also owned a Canon 60D and completely agree with everything you've described here.
So which Canon would you recommend for beginners with great AF?
@@nami20622 tbh in still on the 60d but most newer than the 60d should be better sense as they all have dual AF unlike the 60d
Yes, newer Canon cameras with Dual Pixel AF technology offer better autofocus. The Canon 80D and 90D perform well, but for great autofocus, Canon's mirrorless cameras like the R50, R10, and R7 are excellent choices.
Pen F
Can you tell me what is the best camera for beginners who wish to use it primarily for simple photography and occasionally for videography?
There are many good options depending on the budget. At the moment, for me, the best one for photos and videos at a reasonable price is the Canon R10. If the price is too high, then a second-hand Canon 800D, 77D, or 80D is also a good choice.
I don't agree with this guy, a good camera not need to be a dslr or mirrorless
Of course not there are other good options, I was just talking about the best options, which are dslr and mirrorless cameras.
Uhm U look like Klaus Michelson 😅
Yes, it seems like I do look a bit like him. Thank you for the comment! :D
I wish they would update the firmware…..I feel they know this camera is great and they are refusing to update it
Yes, that's a disappointment, and they're not the only ones who do this. I've experienced it with other brands too... market segmentation.
Great point Photography influencers always flaunt thier leicas and Sony alphas etc and beginners watching this are thinking “I have to have that” They also go extra length to mention thier expensive kit to show credibility.
Well said! Thanks for sharing this!
