🌱Fall balcony garden and backyard garden are slowly closing down as we inch toward winter. It is time to harvest fall vegetables and clean up some garden beds. As I grow vegetables in urban small space gardens, it's always a struggle to find a space to compost all the garden & kitchen waste. There's just not enough space. This fall, I'm trying trench composting in place, and a little bit of chop and drop composting.

Why do you purchase your seeds and not use seeds from plants you grew? I find it more satisfying and quite simple to do. Seeds are typically very over priced.
Thank you for the video. Never knew it could be propagated by cuttings! Nice to have another method besides collecting seed at the end of the season to get more plants. 👍

Sure, here we go! 3 TBS Kewpie mayo, 2 TBS soy sauce, 1 TBS water, 1 TBS rice vinegar, 1 TBS sugar, 2 TBS sesame, 1 TSP sesame oil. Mix all well. The mayo has to be Kewpie ;)
Is it sweet?
Can u please show us how to prtect plants from bird eating?
I actually invite birds to my garden in hopes to have them eat unwanted insects. They don’t bother anything except peas and corn seeds. I changed to start seeds inside for those. For strawberries, I cover them with netting. I hope it helps☺️ Thank you so much for watching!

Nitrogen encourages leaf development at the expense of roots so if you want big roots it can help to keep nitrogen low.
Thank you so much for your great input. I also read high nitrogen could cause infestation of pests, so I tried not to add too much this year😊
Where do you procure that ratio?
I read many sources when I was researching and there’s not a particular one. Would you want me to recommend you one?
@@OishiiGarden its all good, i was just curious. Ive seen many different vids on cinammon and i too am just putting together my own use for it. Like one vid said Ceylon Cinnamon only would give results...
Oh I didn’t know that! It would be interesting to try Ceylon and Cassia, and see if that makes a difference. I’ve been using the most affordable one out there😁

アメリカに数年前に入ってきた外来種のシタベニハゴロモが、今年に入ってこの辺りでも爆発的に増えています🥲 来年から本格的に鳥達の助けが必要になりそうです。オージープランツはまだチェックしていませんでした！

鳥に来てもらおうとセッティングしたら、例の庭猫達が狙ってました😅 でも今年は害虫がすごく減った気がします。野ウサギに食べられるのは庭猫達が来てからゼロです👏🏻✨
虫も食わぬ、化学薬品のたっぷりのった食材を選ぶか？ 多少見てくれの悪い、無農薬の食材を選ぶか？ 姫さまは自然をお選びになるじゃろう。ワシもそうする。
私も虫がかじった跡があるぐらいがいいです🙋🏻♀️ 家庭菜園を始めて、オーガニック農家さんのご苦労がどれだけのものか痛感しています。最近少しずつ見た目が完璧ではない野菜も見直されているようですね。

I subscribed to your channel for a while, I like your channel very much, I am also a gardening enthusiast, I also like the filter color of your video, may i ask what camera filter do you use? Or post-editing software filters，it made your garden more beautiful
Thank you so much! I am truly flattered. I take all of my videos with Sony a6000 with vintage Nikon 50mm 1.8f manual lens. Because a6000 doesn’t have flat picture profile setting, I set contrast and saturation lower when I film. I do not use filters when I edit. I use free software, Davinci Resolve for editing videos and free version of Lightroom for photos used for thumbnails. I hope this helps😊

Hello! Wow, thank you so much for asking. Yes, I am well😊 I’ve been out of states working on a tiny cabin renovations. I hope to come back to my gardens full time and start making videos again soon! My vegs in gardens this year are on auto pilot defending themselves from all sorts of elements. They are doing pretty well surprisingly. I hope your garden is thriving🌱✨

Thank you so much. I am so very happy to hear that you like this video😊 Shiso is annual in northeast US, but if they establish well, they self seed and come back every year. In your zone, they are annual, too. I plant a new Shiso in spring indoors every year. I also have red Shiso that self seeded and popped up this past Spring in my balcony garden🌱 I hope it helps!
If it grows well during the season, and I don't till too deep, it's been re-seeding pretty reliably for me in upstate New York. I regret tilling deeply this year and mulching after, as this really reduced the growth by re-seeding. 😢
Looks amazing! No need to wait until next season though just a tip, and as the mulch dries out through the growing season you'll need to apply more as needed. Good growin!

Very busy and sometimes overwhelming, but I’m well and learning a new skill or two😊 I managed to get my seedlings started and they are already in the gardens. Even without me baby sitting them, they are thriving better than ever🌱✨ I hope you are well, too, Ida. I can’t wait to get back to video making once the cabin reno is done. Seems pretty labor intensive. I plant mine directly into soil once soil temps are in 60 to 70 degree range.
I know right? I just have no luck with planting soybeans any other way. I’ve tried and tried and failed so many of them😅

I've been trying to grow veggies but no such luck, since the start of the pandemic T_T. I'm not giving up, currently trying to grow some of the seed I still have. But also, I can't stand worms and other bugs, maybe this is why I keep failing in gardening haha
I’m ok with earthworms, but many other bugs still scares me, too🥶 My plants tend to thrive when I step back and let them just do their things. I hope you grow beautiful vegetables this season. I’m wishing you all the best🌱☺️
