VERTICAL GARDENING summer vegetables | Save space in small urban garden | Lower & Lean cucumbers

- 🌱Vertical gardening with summer vegetables is a great way to save space in small urban backyard garden. In this slow living silent vlog, I share how I am growing summer vegetables such as lower and lean cucumbers, honeynut squash, bitter melons, zucchinis, watermelons and long beans vertically using garden structures and bamboo poles as trellises to maximize garden space. Also, I share my first ever successful cabbage harvest.

It’s my first year growing some of the zucchini vertically and I’m loving it. Easy harvesting and save a lot of space. Your garden is looking beautiful 🥰

Oh this was so wonderful watching sen go down and get the cabbage literally and then the basket that was awesome! And her eating a cucumber -sweet! I always thought cosmos are autumn flowers, so it is surprising to see them flowering through spring and going into summer. Sounds like so many flowers are coming in soon🥰🌻 Haha, cabbage is one of Sen’s favorite vegetables. She was so ready for the harvest. More than me😂 Sen crunching a cucumber or Willa crunching a carrot would make the best ASMR for sure! I hope your vertical garden goes well, too. Thank you so much as always🌱💕

Cosmos flowers will come soon before you know it☺️ I hope you had time to plant cucumbers. I sowed a few cucumber seeds over the weekend, too!🥒💕
@@OishiiGarden I haven’t had a chance to plant the cucumbers yet but I did plant a bunch of my sunflower seeds that I got from last year‘s flowers in the greenhouse and they’re coming up so I’m gonna make a spot in the garden for a bunch of them and stagger the planting so I’ll have blooms all the way until we have a frost I hope but yes I need to plant the cucumbers I’ve been working a lot on the next video and today I’m recording but I got some fun stuff in the garden done :-) oh and I found out storing potatoes needs to be about 60° so I am going to look into digging up a little root cellar that’s just big enough for boxes of butternut squash potatoes and hopefully carrots

I've been wanting to try this method for cucumbers! Definitely saving this for next year. Also, that head of cabbage is gorgeous! Congratulations on the first cabbage harvest :)
Oh, thank you very much! Who knew 1 cabbage could make me this happy. I tried “lower & lean” cucumbers last year, too, and it went so well. Some gardeners use string, and it seems much easier and less hassle to lower plants. I might try that next year😊

Yes, I have indoor plants, but only a few. 2 small lemon trees and 1 big fiddle leaf fig. Of course! I’m planning to get more indoor plants when I have nothing much growing outdoor in winter this year. I should be able to make a video then😊🪴💕 Thank you so much for writing me such a sweet comment. A garden tour? Oh, that’s a great idea! I always enjoy other gardeners’ garden tours so much. As for indoor plants, I have small lemon trees and fiddle leaf fig tree. I’m thinking about adding more indoor plants this winter when outdoor garden is quiet and slow😊🪴 Thank you so very much for watching and always leaving such a kind comment🙏🏻
