The only good thing about Hyzante is it doesnt encourage its holy warriors to engage in holy martyrdrom. I expected one of the saintly seven to charge at us with a blast crystal screaming "For the Goddess!" /S Satire aside, I do find an interesting point about Hyzante's lack of martyrdom culture despite being based on the caliphates in MENSA is justified. If you encourage martyrs and the Roselle who suffer the most realized their suffering can become a form of martyrdom, it would destroy Hyzante as easily as they will blow themselves up using the aelfric made from their kin to spur up religous fervor.

Thank you for these videos TheHearthGuy, this saga and the Xenoblade one have been perfect to relax a little during my Sunday afternoons. Keep up the good work

When I saw you did a Hyzante video, I KNEW you must've done everything else for Triangle Strategy. I was excited for two reasons: 1. Ooh! Another great analysis video! Cannot wait!!! 2. You're telling me...other people still know about / care about this game?

Hyzante is a bit of a microcosm of Europa from Valkyria Chronicles.

This sounds (ironically, some may say) a bit like a less utilitarian version of the Qun from Dragon Age, and even they believe in some level of separation of church and state

One thing I never truly understand in this game, is why Hyzante is so powerful with their salt, like everyone seems to need it to live. No because unlike the Diofield Chronicles with the jade, it's just something normal from our world. Heck even Drogan diary reveal they're not even using it to salt meat, so all game I wondered why they seems so obsessed with the salt like they can't live without it.

The addition of the pink haired people make them too evil to the point that despit the other country's flaws it's clear that they are the worst. It's already a dictatorship whitout the addition of ethnic oppression, but with this element it's clear that Roland's route is the worst

Would you sacrifice an entire race of people for World Peace?

It was too easy to see Aesfrost as the villains at first when they straight up started a war and were just horrible people to slaughter so many. But then as you explore Hyzante, it really becomes obvious that they are just pure evil. Figures that in a JRPG, the religious nation would be evil and we have to fight and kill "god" to save the world. And the best way to show its evil nature is by showing the absolute hypocrisy of how they pretend to be "holier than thou" and commit the most wretched acts. One of my favorite moments with NPC dialogue choices was when Serenoa had the option to point out how Hyzante's societal power structure was no different from Aesfrost or Glenbrook's, which offends the NPC a lot. Also, learning how Idore sought to use the Aelfric to attain immortality so that he could rule for eternity made me hate Roland's Utility ending even more because that means that now, Idore is unabetted from perfecting the Aelfric to attain immortality. And he has more people to kill to harvest their bodies and souls to empower the Aelfric. Even if Frederica gathers enough followers to retaliate against Hyzante's new regime over the continent, it's unlikely that she will be successful in the long-run, especially against Idore's powers. It just does not look good for her. Yet she still persists and does her best so I can only hope that she manages to succeed somehow. Then again, if Centralia does exist, then the thing that will break Hyzante's control will be when other continents come in. After all, the world is a big place, and foreign lands might not handle their ways too kindly.

Absolutely fantastic series of videos. Triangle Strategy is one of my all-time favorite games and I’m pleased to see it getting some proper recognition.

Something important to mention is that while Hyzante is horrible it is the nation were the common citizien lives the best

Ashe and Yuri: The only good things to ever come out of Western Faerghus. Corentin, Archibald, Medina, Quahog, Decimal: The only good things to ever come out of Hyzante.

Oh, Hyzante. You gave me some of my favorite units to use, but you also made my boy Roland an idiot in your route. This truly is an SRPG experience.

Hyzante keeps using the phrase "equality" to describe themselves, but it couldn't be further from the truth. It's a state built on ideas of herrenvolk and ethnic supremacy, that is as far from what they claim to be as possible. And I'm on the fence as to whether or not the game seems to know this.

You really have a knack for weaving an interesting tale that draws the viewer in. If anything I'd add is a bit more levity in some of your discussions. When you make those cute little jokes it adds a bit of life to your words.

Quick question for you, at 8:09, what did you mean by regna”lying to protect his own people”? I thought it was fairly stupid, changing how the people view aesfrost compared to glenbrook

As a devout Christian if there's one thing I've learned in my life, its never trust organized religion. and I certainly never trusted Hyzante to be anything but evil.

Thank you for covering Triangle Strategy XD, I've been making videos on it, both modding and doing the battles with challenges, it'd be amazing to see more people filter in. The community is slowly burning out XD. (also, I want to add that Gustadolph knew of the salt crystal's potential to exist in an old sensitive text in the archive and planned for this most likely, he amassed troops at the border before all this even occurred, enough to devastate Glenbrook, he most likely already knew that Dragan found salt crystals when he read the letter, and that seeing his chance to lay Hyzante low, he'd kill Dragan and start a war.)

The first time I played this game, I couldn't get the golden ending (my army refused to smuggle salt). So I had to choose a different path. To side with Roland, I'd have to doom the Roselle, and to side with Frederica would mean forsaking Glenbrook. I saw Benedict's path as the one that would give both a chance, albeit a small one. But man, that ending made me feel really bad! Benedict smirking while Serenoa and Frederica sit on the throne, their hope dulled.

Ok if you are interesed in worldbuilding.then check out Witcher thronbreaker( kinda forgotten gem with awesome music ,interesing chara and great story) or Arknights .great music ( just Hear flame shadow or I will touch The sky)awesome but slow starting story, great chara and one of most interesing nations ever

I'm into Nemesis vs. Gael and Rafal vs. Dickson, but I'm especially fond of the Four Hounds vs. the Four Fiends. It's kind of a shame DB prefers sticking to more manageable one-on-one duels because team fights are a wellspring of untapped potential, as we've seen very recently.

A video of high highs (Gangrel vs. Loghain is awesome, I love matchups where the fighters look really different on the outside but have many more similarities than you'd think) and low lows (I saw Validar vs. Astor somewhere else and now it's the first thing I think of when someone mentions boring matchups)

Very good pulls here. I like all of the Tellius matchups to varying degrees and Fortmortiis vs. Diablo sounds absolutely wicked.

I also find Arvis vs. Ozai to be a frustrating matchup because Ozai isn't even Arvis's most interesting opponent from his family tree. Sozin also betrayed and killed a great hero for the sake of his empire only to die a broken, dissatisfied man at the end of his life. Unfortunately, Sozin isn't that much better when it comes to feats; I managed to scrounge up a one-sided "fight" with Roku, a creative use of firebending during a volcano eruption, and one or two training scenes during his youth. I do have one cool idea for the fight where Arvis declares that he's sacrificed too much to back down now, only for Sozin to bitterly remark that he knows nothing of true sacrifice, referencing how he left his own best friend to die just so his conquest would go more smoothly.
