I think this peppy version is very appropriate for the album. I’ve always thought this song destined to be a classic, as it sounds timeless ,antique Appalachian. It hits home both in metaphor, that life is so short, looking in a mirror we’re all ghosts essentially. It also hits in a literal sense as the most intimidated, hell, chicken sh;te scared I’ve ever been was interacting with the apparition in the woods of the young lady in a white dress I’d been looking for. The rumors were true. Decades ago, an atheist/bhuddistish at the time, changed my whole world view and behavior. This song always brings me back to that converted camper/hospital bus broke down halfway up a mountain and me speed walking out there with my tail betwix me legs😂.

it's always difficult to listen to such a sad song when it's performed so well and with such emotion--i listen compulsively while feeling quite sad indeed. the setting adds to the mood; there's something so lonesome about the railroad tracks. it naturally cultivates the wanderlust in me, and i'm reminded of dear old stobe the hobo. maybe old stobie rode by this very spot on the back of a canadian national loaded with grain? you never know. thanks so much for sharing this with us.

I thought your unpluggged videos in nature were very good....but this has also a very strong impact on me. the excellent studio production brings your personal spirit so near. that banjo sounds spot on, you can hear literally each fingertip striking the string...and so does your voice sound excellent with that silky background harmonies....
