I cannot say I believe a lot of what was said in this interview. The knowledge of heaven and hell is seriously lacking. The 2X2s have zero knowledge of the history and culture of biblical times. I think your beliefs change significantly when you understand more of what was happening during the time of Jesus Christ. I left the cult at the age of 16 years. I've been studying God and the bible and religion for the past 50+ years and my perspectives are very different than what is being discussed here.

Actually the "Santa we know today" goes way back to 1823 and The Night Before Christmas poem. That's long before the culture of No Christmas Celebrating Allowed came about! What has amazed me greatly over the years is the realization that 2x2s around the world go anywhere from full on decorated trees and Christmas dinners to making sure there is no hint of a snowman or holly motif in the house in case, heaven forbid, you should be caught "celebrating" ! How did this huge discrepancy with Christmas observance come about anyway?

I'll never understand restrictions on labor saving devices, as long as you use the free time for other labor, or possibly for religious study and charity.

God is the all forgiving being in all religions yet if you break any rules you are shunned which is unchristian. So modern day religious leaders are dictators?

Why do you not look at the people you are talking to? Is that a amish thing not to?

I was shunned by our local church. I am not Amish. I disagreed with the pastor on how he spoke about other people (he was criticizing other congregants in front of other people and being quite vicious about it). He insisted he had the "right" to criticize them and things went from there. After I went to the pastor, he rallied his cronies and they came out to my house to "rid me of the devil." Same with the rest of my so-called friends. One lady would not even accept a gift from me. It was crazy. It is a horrible feeling. I almost had a breakdown over it. Now, years later, I pray for all those who shunned me, but I am moving forward-no bitterness. I feel for this young man and his family. I really do. He is articulate and has chosen Jesus over the "rules" of society. May God bless him and keep him. God is good.

There's so many ways they can make money they could do like a tiny house Air bnb Amish experience where people can rent for a week and learn to cook like his wife or learn from him. Just sell to the public from his store. They are lovely people and sometimes what seems like a curse is a blessing in disguse

Growing up for me was so difficult because being abused at 12 and not being believed I always felt shunned by the friends. When I left at 21 I was always and still am at 70 find it hard to make friends and even trust what people tell me.

It sounds like they were in a cult more than anything. The bible is our map to heaven, not mans words! Im so glad they got out of that and was able to see the truth.

Good stuff Guys... Here is something that has helped me concerning sin in my life, ongoing sin etc.( yes, i still sin, darn it... as long as I am in this fleshly temple i am prone to sin), but when the Angel of Death went out to kill all the first born in Egypt - the last of the plagues that God performed with Moses - The angel was told to pass by the homes where the blood of a lamb was on the door posts... everyone in that home was safe- spared passed over, hence the term any holiday The Passover... You don't read anywhere where the Angel of death opened the door and looked inside to see if everyone was behaving themselves ! The Angel was not concerned with what the people were doing or not doing inside. I see a paraell in that the Blood of Jesus covers us, once we are born again. Sin had been delt with once and for all. The price was paid, signed, sealed amnd delivered. The sins of the WHOLE world had been pardoned for whomsoever believed...
