Teamsters for a Democratic Union
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 30 มี.ค. 2023
Teamsters for a Democratic Union is a grassroots organization of thousands of members across North America, working together to rebuild Teamster Power. For more than 30 years, TDU has been uniting Teamsters to put our union to work for the members. We’re truck drivers, UPS workers, clerical workers, warehouse and delivery workers, public sector Teamsters-every kind of Teamster, and retirees and spouses too.
We helped elect new International Union leadership, and now we're backing the IBT's contract campaign at UPS. TDU helps rank-and-file Teamsters stand up to employers, win good contracts, develop as union activists, and build stronger local unions, including by running for local union office.

I see sups working to help out often.
What propaganda world is this. Why bring up the scary Hoffa just to reassure everyone that the “junior partner” and OZ administration are getting the work done. Lets not talk about the concession filled UPS contract
Stop it. You sold teamsters out for automation.

Wake up America! We have two candidates. * djt is a wanna be dictator circling the drain and if you don't kneel down and kiss his *** he'll send Hannibal Lector to your door. I've yet to hear anything positive for America fall out of his mouth. His platform is the perpetration of hate and fear. * Kamala wants to ensure our freedom, democracy and the building of the American dream. She wants our laws to mean something. A Democratic Congress would allow them to get something done so America can move ahead. You don't have to agree with her just decide which way you want America to go. djt...Hateful cruel dictatorship or Harris...democratic freedom and a path for the American dream. A refusal to vote is a vote for djt.

I WORK UPS , IM A UNION WORKER FOR TEAMSTERS AND IM SAYING IT...IF YOUR WORRIED ABOUT A SUP DOING 10 SECS OF WORK TO FILE A GRIEVIENCE...YOUR DOGSHIT BROKE AND HAVE NO MONEY AND WANT TO FILE IT FOR MONEY BECAUSE YOUR BROKE AS SHIT...not for contract protection
When are we going to start seeing package cars with Air conditioning in FL?

Local AFGE #131...Thank you for this training video 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Remember you don't get 100% pay, it's usually 85% , for example you get 20 hrs, you won't get paid for the whole 20hrs, maybe 15 or less.
Great video question on how do we handle workers that are being inappropriate with other union workers, how do represent that situation or report.
That should be in your contract book...
The threat to strike has to be credible on are part we have to be ready to shut it down for reals and hold the line
For 2028 we asking for a 4 hour minimum daily guarantee hours for part timers full time is 8 part time should be 4 we need to build stronger contract for part time employees which make most the workforce
Teamsters have been fighting for labor rights for 121 years its are turn are duty to continue the fight and teach the next generation
Article 3 section 7 is one of the easiest to enforce witnesses around every corner if you see a supervisor working say something you could be owed money
Ive been on a major contract enforment kick since they had the last webinar about it we going to continue the fight even if it cost uf the job
So is the union going to do something? If so when im dying here holding onto this job im laid off for a month and 2 weeks alrwady and they day they dont even have a time frame for when ill be recalled
People along with locals aren’t enforcing because they are complacent or fraternizing. My local wants to take a vote to stop all meetings through the summer. Then maybe they should cut our dues if they want to take the summer off. Fight the rail, fight the drop ship. And when are the books on the new contract being sent out? Talk about members not being informed, it sucks not having a physical book to use. We need to be able to transfer with out quitting. The union needs to stop helping UPS, help its members get work!
Any chance I could get in touch with someone who takes the contract seriously with some experience? I've got a question about article 3 in the Central Supplement. Our newly elected BA, albeit has been a teamster for 40 years, gave me an answer that makes no sense. I try to keep an open mind about "just getting an answer I don't want to hear" but this dilemma regarding layoffs doesn't make any sense.
Down the ups teamsters app, once that's handle, go to the section "my contract" from there you can download the master agreement and supplement agreement to your pdf file. You will have both books in the palm of your hand 👍🏿
Company put in camera facing driver. How do we get them taking out during negociation. We dont want them
Talk to other drivers get everyone to agree that those cameras are a violation of your contract and ask for them to be removed you should be able to get something done
I wish I had representative like you guys. My BA and Stewart are dirty I am from local 804
I know the problem you face
You can learn the contract and be your own steward
@@AlexLopez-jt5zc this is what I had to do. Union was doing favors for their friends. They still are in other buildings. Now, teamsters from other centers are calling and texting me asking what to do. I am not a Stewart but I know the contact and the Union is definitely doing favors. Of course I get the cold shoulder from them, I would rather have that and stick to the contract. We are all equal, just because the local president is your buddy doesn't mean you get special treatment.
Informative ✊🏿
Fuck yeah I’m gonna start preaching from the hills about the part timers who keep being voluntold to stay home.
I just put my name in to run for shop steward. I am new to the union, I came here to learn about what a shop steward does.
Thanks everyone! I recently had an ojs ride. One supervisor on two days and a different one on the third day. They helped me immensely. Holding doors. Picking what stops to go to next. Held an elevator. I love that elevator because it has a very distinct alarm when someone stops the door from closing. Then when I filed the grievance, it is article 37 section 2 btw, they claim holding doors is a courtesy! hahaha Throw you heat ride in the garbage!
Thanks for this
I’m not trying to be a jerk but the lip smacking did not help me listen well
Ya just gotta understand some people click more than others.
New steward here. My supervisor harasses me , records me unloading van and wont allow me to be present. Also has different rules for me as opppose to non union workers
Talk to your business agent and file a grievance and escalate it immediately
Contact TDU
You have a lot of options but the easiest would be to harass them right back as a steward you are able to give management a really hard time just find a worker who is interested
as a union steward, my supervisor films me and searches my delivery vehicle but doesnt non union drivers
If you have sufficient evidence of this. And there is a zero tolerance policy in place...file a grievance and turn in your form to your local Steward or Vice President or President to get this information in the hands of your local...and you have a contract with the employer for proper and inappropriate behavior! If you feel that your claim is falling on deaf ears...go to your computer and file with EEOC to get the ball going about harassment in the work place. Most importantly, rest assured that union brothers and sisters will be there to rally around you and others to be your support...take care
Great Information, thanks guys
What the hell is UPS doing 27 year employees that work whenever they wanted and now moving them around to night shifts, was always of UPS but this has changed my opinion 🫢
File article 37 over supervision Say no to monthly ride along
I had four last year.
@@billydee1879 Four in the same year sounds more like harassment to me than over supervision.
Encouraging information!
Unions ruin everything.
My first thought was "this is a joke right?" lol. Second thought "fired for taking pictures in the building"...(thumbnail for video). I could tell my union rep until my face is blue and I pass out that sups work through out the day. He says nothing...I tell our BA when I see him how much sups work on preload and he says give me the dates, times & who. I'm at the end of the belt, I can't see it all... Hell, they have a part time sup that goes in on Monday around 3-4am to add-cuts before the drivers get there. Our preload works Tues-Sat. Preloaders and drivers have brought this up at union meetings and they say well, if you catch them working, write down the time, who & what they were doing. Who is going to go in at 3-4am probably to a locked building & catch him working? P.S. I fought this battle for years alone. Nobody wanted to help...A couple weeks after I gave up, the sups were working again, someone came up and said "Aren't you going to say anything?" My response was "nope, I'm done. They can do whatever." That person got mad and walked away talking shyt...Everyone is too scared...Our last union rep that actually had some balls got fired for some BS...
Hold on.... you've seen your BA???
@@Kenwood.. lol ya every once in a blue moon he comes down from the big city to see us peons. Maybe once every two or three months. Union meetings are maybe two a year...
Become a steward, then you can go around and check for supervisors working on your off hours. If they won’t let you because you are working I believe there is language about needing to keep enough staff for stewards to do union stuff like contract enforcement. It sucks having no back up though, im in the same boat to a degree. Theres alot of support among the employees, but the union itself does not want to rock the boat.
Sounds like my building..I'm in mass
Have you contacted TDU? I’m one of the steward on the webinar
Can you add the IBT pension plan for Kroger employees. Nobody understands it!!!!

😁. $54 an hour and brand new trucks for delivery drivers is outrages no business can afford that, ups is going to raise shipping prices causing many business to drop them equalling lower package volume, a lot of you over paid union mofo's gonna get laid off and the rest left is going to have their work load doubled 😂😂😂😂
If you say so .
