Great info here, thank you TDU! I will say, contract enforcement is often communicated as a rank & file issues first, but in my experience it’s more of an issue with BA’s and The Union unwilling to support the membership. That is extremely frustrating and demoralizing to the membership. I would recommend TDU hold a webinar about what a member can do to enforce the contract despite the proper support from their BA/Union. This is the REAL issue that needs to be addressed
455 did not win on the 8 hr situation. Just changed the wording of the message sent. It was definitely a loss. We now have stewards trying to block filing supervisor working grievances. It's not going to happen. The members have a right to file grievances on contract violations. We also have stewards who ultimately harm the members with their antics. Thankfully, members notice and don't allow it. I will continue to help the many members who come to me for guidance, as we all should.
Hell we have sups working daily on preload and we have the most peak preloaders I've seen in my 16yrs with ups. We run 28-29 routes out of our building and we have like 19-20 preloaders for peak and the sups are still working... I'm the only one that cares...I try to get the other teamsters to stand up and say something but, they do nothing...Sups are taking packages from docks & platforms and moving them to skids for pvd's. Doing add-cuts for certain preloaders. Pulling for roller lines (because it's a safety issue), they say...I tell them it's their job to tell us about the issue and our job to clean it up. We have a (floater) position that dumps bags, helps in feeder, help with trucks and cover someone when they need to use the bathroom. Sometimes the sups cover for bathroom breaks and I won't let them cover for me. I make them get another union member to cover me! Our union steward is to scared to file grievances and our BA just says write down the times and who was working...I can't see the whole building or do it alone...It sucks!
Supervisors work nonstop in Austin, Texas. Grievances are met with retaliation and disrespect. Management has started to circumvent the contract by shopping out settlements to higher seniority employees who are willing to make settlements for a fraction of the grievances' true value. $3500.00 settled for $300.00 it's obvious, and managers couldn't care less.
Hell, we can't even file grievances...Our steward is to scared and our BA just tells us we have to write down the times they were working & who was working...it sucks!
I wonder what political beliefs O’Brien holds. I know it’s a lofty dream but I’d like to see the teamsters and brown trucks blocking the southern border. If our own fucking president won’t do it let the teamsters do it

Results for Yellow/YRC was ineffective, so I’m not surprised if Cach (local 710) will do the same.

I'm so unsatisfied with The "R"eamsters of local 657.
