Aren’t UPS employees able to buy stock in UPS. Poor argument. Here’s the real question. Why are union memberships plummeting? Because it’s a trap and word is out that people can earn more as an owner than an employee. If Unions had such a great business model they would start they’re own companies.
A Fed Ex route owner has to buy 3 routes to earn what we do, so you are wrong. They also have to pay some Schlub to do the work, pay for vehicle insurance, gas, and maintenance. Now that is a corporate trap, meant only to benefit the corporation.
The average UPS driver makes $45 an hr or $93,800 per yr. You only get that $50k number when you figure in all workers . Unions always use pay that isn't part of the collective bargaining agreement to claim poverty. $50K for unskilled labor when national avg is $38K? So UPS pays above avg on that as well.
Part timers make up 60% of UPS workers, and they have been neglected far too long. UPS likes to bring up how well drivers are paid but ignore the ones who load and unload those trucks and trailers. I’m going on 5 years and making $16.65 per hr. I have another job but for the tough physical job we do we deserve a piece of the pie. I’m glad drivers are doing well but don’t ignore the rest of us.

So pay the raise in stocks then? I mean dividends aren't going to help workers with long term money.
