Going to try perlite . Thanks for sharing
You have such a soothing voice, a joy to listen to you talking.
I love your day to shots, so enjoyable.
Mine was doing pretty well for a while and recently dropped all of its leaves. Going to give it a change from soil to moss and see how it does. Thank you for the info!
thanks for this video! I am fairly new to anthurium propagation and had NO idea what the new leave looks like when its starting to push out of the growth point. in fact I even picked one off because i didnt know what it was UGH. Now I see 2 more on my Forgettii chonk and imma leave it alone and let em do the do! P.s. hope you start posting again! I love your progress videos
Choco leaves get stuck without high humidity for me, maybe because it's an Equagenara import
Thank you so much, You're brilliant!
You are more than welcome. Glad it was helpful. :)
Very helpful. Thank you for all of the info!
You are welcome. :)
Just discovered your video. Would you mind sharing what your soil mixture is comprised of? I feel silly saying this but I’m having difficulty understanding some of your dialect.

Nice Alocasia collection….thank you for sharing. Cheers from Canada
Thank you
Hi, i tryed 3 times on différent alo and it always rot :( Idk what i do wrong, maybe it's colder at my place ?
Hello, what mediums did you use and where is the bulb positioned in your place?
Ughhh I’m watching this hoping to save my caramel marble. ItIt had 2 good sized leaves and a few inches of roots. I pulled it out of the moss to inspect the roots and had to cut most of them off. Should I cut the leaves off completely and treat it as a chonk???
Heya, if the leaves are perfectly fine then leave them on as they will be key in getting your plant to recover as quickly as possible. I'd just put it in perlite with water to the level of a quarter of the pot so the roots are not sitting in water and let them adapt and grow towards the water though the perlite will provide moister around them but won't soak them. Have it in medium to bright light or whatever the leaves are happy in. Wishing you all the best but let me know how you get on!
I am currently trying to propagate mine- it's gotten so large so I decided to chop it. I have only propagated in water. But my el choco does not seem to like the water.. the roots are tiny stubs still and it's been almost a month. Would you suggest I try the moss/perlite instead or does the root system always grow so slowly?
Hello, sorry for the delay i've been away for a bit! I'd say put it in a moss and perlite mixture. Therefore when you dampen the moss (water but don't drench) the perlite helps to keep additional air flow instead of the moss compacting when wet, so water lightly. Or you can just put it in pure moss or pure perlite and water. I am starting a fresh with some of my El Choc so could do an update video at some point. Also if the roots are in a warmer environment i find the grow a little quicker but it usually takes a couple of months.
@ thank you! I ended up rooting it!
Thank you much for showing how it’s done ❤
You're welcome. :)
Thank u so much for that video literally the best 😍💞 hugs and kisses
Heya RandomPerson :) You are more than welcome.
I'd love to have a variegated frydek!
Yea, they've not been easy to get hold of from my experience. Hope you find one if not already.
You should ALWAYS rinse your perlite BEFORE using it, as the dust can gum up your plants roots.
Hi Niches, have you been successful with water propagation? Just throwing the cutting in water?
Hello, I've not done water propagation alone with an EL Choco but I could as one of mine maybe chopped so I could do a few and do a little diary of their progress.
What a great video! Appreciated the timeline updates. Thinking of getting a Jacklyn bulb. It would be my first Alocasia so good to see your method
You're welcome, I'm glad the video was helpful. Hope you got your bulb and all is going well.
Thanks for this.. I’m wondering what temperature you keep these in while getting the corm going .
You're welcome, the temperature is about 26 degrees on average. No lower than 22 but highest 33 in the summer but it's not often at that.
@ I really appreciate this - my bulbs(3) have finally popped out, tiny little green growth, couldn’t call it a leaf yet.! So excited but growth is so slow as I have no way of controlling the temperature. I have a grow light on it but no idea of temperature and nights are cold. Any recommendations re how to keep it at better temperature without spending a fortune or moving house 😉? It’s my only tropical type plant. I’m dying to look for roots and now feel confident of doing that, seeing how you handled it . Thanks again Hedy S
Looking forward for your next Video🪴
Heya, It's coming... I know it's been a while! Hope all is well.
Very informative care guide. Thanks a mill its greatly appreciated!
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome. :)
Love you queen
What a lovely anthurium!
Thank you!
This is variegated?! So exciting! I’m in love with my regular frydek, I got it on sale a few months ago because it was damaged and it’s recovered beautifully, I’d kill for a variegated one
I'm sure you'd be just fine with the variegated version. :)
Hope it grows well!!
Thank you.
Total wishlist plant... Just found one myself today after a long time search ☺️
aww congratulations 🤗🤗
What is the name of the place in California? I can’t seem to find it
Those are two good ones! Curious to see how that Ficus gets along care wise. I just a a small starter Sheveriana.
Yea I love them. Both doing well. Will keep you updated.
How exciting!! That red crystallinum is absolutely stunning, congrats on your new babies 🥳🌱💕
Thank you very much! 🤗
I just got my el choco yesterday, so this video was so helpful. Recently found (and subscribed) your channel and I have been binge watching your videos. Absolutely love your channel, thank you. ❤️
Heya Laurie, congrats on your El Choco!! I'm glad the video was helpful. Welcome and thanks for subscribing, it's really appreciated. Do let me know if there's anything you'd like to see! :)
I feel silly asking this, but what kind of moss? I’ve never worked with moss and I’m new to propagating, but this is amazing!! Like, can I order moss on Amazon? How does it stay wet? Do I water it in the bag? Thank you…
Heya, don't feel silly as there is a lot of different types of moss out there! I use New Zealand Spagh. Moss. However any moss that has a soft/ fluffy texture once the excess water is squeezed out should be good. You can also use perlite if you haven't got any moss yet and water that like you would a normal plant but if you have a bulb in a bag (with moss) then yes, water it in the bag enough so that it's damp but not too wet. Any excess water drain off. Hope that helps :)
Thank you for the video! I got sold a cutting with dead roots and I think the seller should’ve been more honest about it. I thought they were ok until I saw the roots should be red and not dark brown and dried up 😅. I’m hoping it will reroot!
Heya, aww I am sorry to hear this. I'd say if you haven't already cut the roots back to the base and any soft part of the stem (if any). Then put it in damp moss in an area of high humidity. Make sure the moss is damp and not dripping wet. Then leave it be and just keep the moss damp. I'd also place it in medium light so it can focus on root without too harsh a light. Hopefully in a few weeks you'll start to see some root growth. Don't be surprised if your leaves droop a little after cutting, that's expected.
@ perfect! Thank you! I watched your vid when I noticed the roots and ended up putting it in perlite. Is moss better?
You're welcome. I find moss better for philo's but perlite is also fine. Just water until about a third of the container it's in so the perlite soaks it all up.
“Give Away”. Love your Videos. Love Philodendron El Choco Red!🪴🌿🍃
Thank you very much. Yea the El Choco is still one of my favs! :)
Nice collection
Thank you
Sis you are not using the right names. Slivery ann is a exotica scindapsus, your neon pothos is a neon philodendron.
Hiya, yes you are right, thanks.
Nice to see you back! Hope you had a great time in Jamaica! Would definitely recommend PON for the Thai, I have mine in self watering with PON and they are all loving life!
Thank you! I honestly wasn't sure if I would be back. Jamaica was amazing thank you, one of my best hols yet. Okay noted on the Thai in PON, I'll make the transition. That makes me excited, thanks! ☺
Your recording volume is too low. Other than that I love your videos. Happy Planting!
😍😍
Can you please add the charcoal you use as well? thank youx
Hello, I use charcoal for terrariums. The one i often use is linked below. amzn.to/3E1vIWf
Hey sis what did you opt for with regards to the fans on timer? I use tp link plugs and now also have an extension with 4 outlets and 4 USB ports, set up via Google home... brilliant stuff. Still loving the channel, keep shining x
Heya Hun, I've not even done that yet. I need to research it and decide which plants I want to keep in the cabinet, what I'll take out and what i'll sell! It would be good to have a somewhat self sufficient set up though. I will check out google home! Thanks babe, appreciate the encouragement. It's been a little up and down for a while.
Looks like your hoya compacta's need water. I have found that they need a little bit more water than my other hoyas and they do very very well like that and produce plenty of new leaves and flowers. Just FYI...
For a while I was nervous about overwatering it but yes they can take a bit more water than other hoyas. Thanks
Your plants are so beautiful!
Thank you very much.
Cool video! I think I would have separated those other two plants and put them in individual pots and cut the fried deck about an inch above the original soil line. Then I would have put the top cutting in water to root and put the bottom cutting with no leaves under a good grow light. You could end up with six plants! Good luck though! I hope your method works!
Heya, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yea I was considering the chop for a while but it was all good in the end. Always good to experiment though.
Algae is the word you were looking for, I believe.
lol thanks 😊
Bee hives in the palm blew my mind
I know. Nature’s amazing! 😊
Thank you for the reminder of a fraction of the beautiful foliage. Jamaica truly is a great place for lovers of nature of all types, housing some unique specimens. Great video and glad you had a nice time ❤
You are welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it. xx
This is a great list, I can see why you'd want all of these
🤗 thank you.
Yay finally the video I’ve been wishing for. I hope you enjoy the vacation incl sun, sea, sand and food 🇯🇲 This garden is everything 🥰🙌🏾 thank you Nicey x
I know it's been a little while. I had a really lovely time thanks, JA is beautiful and I could always spend longer lol. I know the garden is literally a mini jungle so many varieties and surprises. 😊
