    Ftr the feeling of being a smol lost in a massive world which is not designed for you was there for me most in Dark Souls 1 and Hollow Knight. I’ve not had that feeling of survival based exploration since because the later FROM games made the player much stronger and gave a bunch of QOL boosts like tons of bonfires, teleports etc. The later games each have their own strengths but I wish we got a game from FROMSOFT again which gave the player less mechanically so they could experience more stressed out exploration like that. I highly doubt it will happen because it will be panned by critics for ‘going a decade backwards mechanically’ especially after ER (which I love for other reasons), unfortunately

I didn't bother with the DLC even though i heard they condensed the map so you can find something to do, since my tolerance ran out on the game. Black myth Wukong and other titles like it are boring because they're trying to copy souls, and if you try to copy souls, the game will be boring. 🤷‍♂ Just make a fun videogame instead of copying souls. I can't be sure what he meant about enemies and players not getting hit when they should, but my mind went to grab attacks and crit lag, not ducking. I got my brother and best friend to try the game, and we're co-oping everything. I explain whatever they want to know about gameplay as we go, since the games are so cryptic about everything. They are not fans of the summoning system. I explain that, yeah, I don't care for the clunk myself but it gets the job done all the same. And it's the way it is because everything is supposed to be diagetic. Why can't we just party up like borderlands? Because that's not how the magic works. And then we knock an ulcerated tree spirit flat with a crit, and they start trying to spam attack it. No damage. Wtf? Realism? Well, it's invulnerable while it resets so we don't just dogpile it to death with one stagger. So, in this case, no realism. Sometimes, the games are dedicated to feeling real in their own right. And sometimes, gameplay comes first. And there's no guarantee that your wants will match From's design choices, even when it feels like they're ignoring common sense.

      @@Ontos99 my point was that they didn't balance it or do anything intentionality it just happened accidently in design they are hacks. you are basically defending exploits the developers didn't patch out, they didn't intend for it to be a difficulty option. I expect quality well polished well designed content out of from software not just slop they didn't even bother to play test at all. You are just constantly lying and saying everything is a part of miyazaki's master plan, totally didn't just pump out some cheap lazy slop and move on. "they didn't want to pigeon hole their player base while they design the entire game around stagger breaking bosses. and specifci strats." ok I believe you. abosolutely pigeon holed us into specific strats and builds. abosolutely forced to play specific cheese methods on bosses the majority of players fought bosses these ways. might as well just return to not even having any action combat if the players are skipping it. My problem with this argument is "if you don't like the dificulty you should cheat and break use game breaking glitches the developers never intended." I want the standard experience to be good, and well designed at a moderate difficulty, I don't want to use game breaking glitches and builds tnat shouldn't even be in the game to make it tolerable to play, the original demon's souls and dark souls 1 weren't this BS and people weren't using game breaking cheese methods as much then they just played the games. totally want to consult a guide constantly instead of just playing the game organically like I did for over a decade before elden ring. These aren't intentional developer creations these are things the players did to bypass developer intentions, and exploit game mechanics, these are not play tested and fun methods of playing the game. I want the intended method of playing the game to be fun and not lame fargot energy, which is all I got ou of the standard difficulty of playin the game upset from software wasted my time with slop.

I don't think your first run should be challenge run level, you should be setting the skill floor higher with restrictions like sl1 etc not making it easier with cheese that basically bypasses content. I don't feel the slightly bit of joy playing anything past sekiro I just lose more and more good will for from software. I didn't even buy shadow of the erd tree I pirated it and still it made me mad with how bad it was compared to the base game and earlier souls games that I've played for over a decade now. I feel the exact opposite on this gameplay I liked the earlier games way more. After beating the base game I didn't feel satisfied, after beating the dlc I didn't think I wanted more content I thought I was completely done with from software's nonsense. talking with people about it online and having my critcism be discounted by tourists has debased my faith in from even more. seems the majority of people either accept this slop and the series will just keep getting worse. @@Ontos99Dude, what skill? What enjoyment from the combat? Hitboxes are all over the place, visuals are often not matching hitboxes and there are plenty proof of that. Combat is barely improved DS3, jumping and AoWs are not some genius inventions but something that should have been there since DS1. All in all, ER is no skill game, all you have to have is functional brain, guess why peeps beat DS with guitar hero controller: because this "skill" revolves around getting to know your enemy so all you need is having patience and being able to analyse action and consequence. Basic cognitive functions are not "skill", this is something every healthy human being has. How do I know that? 1000hrs in DS and ER + lore hunting. What did it teach me? What skills did I acquire? I am able to tell shit from gold and I'm not afraid to tell: I enjoyed my time with those games but I can see them for what they are, bad games within an interesting setting. And DS3 had deeper meaning while ER, it's just convoluted for the sake of being cryptic. So, it would be wonderful if people were not afraid of saying: I like this crap. Instead of: this is not crap, this is great design because I like it. (It pains me greatly but if they don't improve qol and shite combat I'm not moving from MH: Wilds and KCD2 to any new FS game)

    Honestly...I want to see some quest-related secret bosses. Like "if you won't save a character in certain moment of the game, he will become corrupted/consumed by the darkness and you will have to fight him like a powerful boss". With one reward. And if you manage to save him then you get another reward and maybe this dude will help you later. They tried to do something similar with Miquella's followers, but it's just NPC fights. Good idea, but it needs to evolve. And I dream that someday we will get a souls-like with advanced combat, more mechanics and BG3 level of quests and story. Though realisticly the sun will go out sooner then something like this will be released...

    My reason for playing Elden Ring and souls in general is because my friends were constantly saying "play Elden Ring, it's great" for the half of the year. I knew it is good, but I was almost sure that I wouldn't like this sub-genre because I prefer more fast-paced games (like Ghostrunner, Ultrakill, DMC etc.). I thought it would be too slow. But in the end I enjoyed playing this game, because if there's one thing that never gets boring is beating the shit out of everyone. I dislike this open world for it's 70% emptyness, I dislike overwhelming boss repeats, I dislike the "10 cookbooks out of 10" stuff, but fighting things is mostly fun, so I don't mind too much. If I can fight strong and cool bosses, I don't need anything else (space marine 2 proves this 100% btw, there's nothing besides carnage there but I don't give a shit at all). Is ER and souls sub-genre hard? No. A game with such slow pace that demands to press 2,5 buttons with only main mechanic being memorising movesets can't be hard by defalt. Putting sticks in own wheels calling it a "challenge" and basic understanding of "hardness" in a game are 2 entirely different things. If you won't rage on every death and open your eyes, you will learn any boss within 30 minutes at max. And I don't even start to talk about how much broken ass weapons this game has...

    When an elden ring video devolves into a totk hate session I just can’t take it seriously anymore. It just sums up to ‘I’m not willing to evaluate what totk is trying to do because of personal bias so I will assign elden ring the status of superior game’. It would be like saying a short hike is a better game than elden ring because it gives you a lot more movement freedom with the gliding and climbing mechanics lol

      @@56ty_ "personal bias"? Do you mean to suggest there are objective reasons to conclude TOTK is more enjoyable than Elden ring? I hope you realize it is all personal and subjective. I find TOTK to be an uninspired game as a sequel to BOTW (which I enjoyed a lot). It is a sequel hiding in its shadow even if I see the new additions Nintendo attempted to sprinkle to make it feel unique. Ultimately it is too "samey" and repetitive not justifying the price tag for me. Elden ring is not comparable to TOTK in my eyes on many levels. But again, it is all subjective

They just tried to connect it back to botw for marketing reasons. And I hate it. But what I usually see is the complete dismissal of everything good that the game does in order to claim it’s objectively bad. In the Zeldatubers community elden ring is only used to “prove” that. There is no actual critique of totk. I’ve watched hours of this type of video and I haven’t found one good argument. So now my gut reaction is to just zone out lol

      @Ontos99 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@56ty_ Well, personally "the good" that TOTK does well is short lasting and it losed its charm for me fairly quickly. The idea of connecting objects slowed down the pacing of the game too much and it felt clunky to constantly stop and do it. The map design is the exact same of breath of the wild. The foundation I mean. And the enemy variety is pretty much the same with a few small changes not even counting how the combat mechanics (which was too simple to begin with) is here in full force with no tangible improvements. Elden ring doesnt fall into these traps even if it "appears"to be dark souls 3 with an open world. Thats why you are seeing all of these TOTK is not that good reviews and there are legit arguments against it for many players. I say this as a BOTW enjoyer.

It was built on top of one of the best series yet, Dark Souls, which already had this attention to detail and enemy variety, already outclassing any other game imo, not just open worlds. Of course there is still room for improvement, Elden Ring is not perfect in any sense, but the steps will be steeper for developers, especially those who still cling to the easy money grab philosophy.

      You really think that highly of this? Peak FS is Sekiro. DS and ER are wonky slogs with interesting world and some great dungeons. But hot damn, as games, they are a mix of good, wonky and ugly. They are curious games but not good "games". And also, ER is ugly, just plain ugly, real downgrade compared to DS series, also lore is far worse. PvP is bad, balancing is nonexistent, online features and hitboxes (yes, they are shit) are wonky. And the game is not even hard, it just needs to be learned unlike sekiro where you need to actually get good. It baffles me why they made such a bad game after Sekiro. Miyazaki should never be responsible for anything more than lore and dungeon design. And don't get me wrong, I enjoyed ER but amount of BS, man, FS just doesn't learn.

    I wasn't part of any gaming community when I started playing ER. A coworker told me about it and it's true he said "it's hard", but man, enemies in Fromsoft games are not what hit hardest. They are truly unique and I'm immensely grateful I have got the chance to know about them 💜 (and endlessly playing them 😂)

    Hey there! Funny enough, this is the first time someone has reacted to one of my videos that isn’t a montage! I was a bit nervous to hear someone discussing my opinions, haha. Also, I don’t think I know anyone else who covers both Xenoblade and Elden Ring on the same channel, despite the similarities between the series. I’m glad to see we agree on most points! :) I watched the entire reaction and really enjoyed it. Cheers!

      @@SparksOpus Hey SparksOpus. No need to feel nervous. I really enjoyed your commentary and the way you compared Elden Ring and Xenoblade. I'm happy to find people who enjoy both series. Next week, I'll release my Amalthus, Zanza and Moebius analysis. It is kind of a "part 2" to my recent release "Understanding Moebius" where I laid the foundation and went as deep as I possibly could on XC3. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it if you give it a look sometime when you can. Much love,

      Where can I see the clip of an enemy sending an NPC falling to his death? I didn’t see it in your shorts. Your video was great by the way.
