Thanks! I will have a look! Keep up the good work! I am like you: just have to change and modify all technical things 😂
What about the Coke Bottle grips, Hogue, or other Target or Roper style N-Frame grips? Will those grips fit the Umarex M29?
I’m no expert but I believe the ones I fitted are referred to as coke bottle grips. I’m sure other n frame grips can be fitted with modifications.
@@Waxmax The grips you fitted on are not coke bottle grips, those are target grips, Cokes have a more oval profile and are actually smaller than the Target grips that replaced them. Another giveaway in telling the difference between N frame diamond targets and N frame diamond 'cokes' is the larger checkered area of the cokes. The overall size is essentially the same. The amount of extra palm swell varies.
Have you polished or sprayed over the grips with lacquer ? I’ve got the old one and the grips are too dull I reckon…cheers.
I thanks for your message. I replaced the grips for wooden ones and then stained and used tru oil to finish.
Sorry I just realised the video you watched and commented on still had the original grips fitted, so I’m assuming you refering to the ones shown in this video. My fault sorry. Yes I actually painted them and blended different colours to try and give a grain effect. The paint was very thin though as I wanted to still see some of the original colour and texture. I then used the birchwood Casey tru oil on them. Don’t think it came out too bad and I preferred the look when compared to the original finish. Then I changed the grips to the wooden ones as shown in later videos. Apologies for confusion
@ Cheers,I thought they looked different, yeah, wood texturing is called scumbling, did a door once to look like walnut…tricky on a small piece though.Im thinking of lacquering mine with a gloss spray clearcoat of some description…I don’t like the dullness of the stock ones.
Mi sono iscritto 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for this trial & error video series. After wathing and learning, I'm going to send my plastic grips to someone who masters graining. That's the easiest route to get 'em look real walnut I think?
Nice ! Looks very good 😊 I just purchased one of these MP40 BB guns. First thing I did was put the sling bar on the right side added a repo sling then blacked out the manufacturers writings on the right side. Yours looks Very close in finish to my original 41 dated model I bought legally in 1990 😁 Good Job 👍
Thank you. I’ve swapped the sling point back and fourth both ways as I never seem happy lol. I do have a couple of videos planned for the mp40 so stay tuned!!
I have adopted magazine from Cybergun AK74 to this one and had no changes in the chrono! Also I tried to change the valves as you have shone in this video. I've done 3 shoots and noticed no increase, but then the shooting stopped. The valve is not suitable for this mag, or it needs some serious adjustment. So I put back the original one! In Belorussia there is one guy making the kit for the valve and for the rear part of the barrel that really gives an increase of power. He is making for the Russian Yunker, which is the same as Chinese AK47 from Cybergun. I have ordered one from him, so in some time I will get result.
Interesting. Maybe there are different versions as it has made a difference on my one. I will do another video on it showing shooting through chrono so you can see
My M29 6” was modified with a full length steel rifled barrel and drilled valve stem. Using Econ II 7.4grn pellets it give an average of 340 fps over a capsule.
The co2 exiting the muzzle is faster than the bb causing inconsistency readings over the Chrono.
Interesting comment thank you. If that is the case, do you know why, with no ammunition inserted, the chrono does not register any readings when fired with just the co2?
is bad there is not one solid revolver on the market airgun or airsoft for normal money. Only the Robin Hood Tactical made them from steel but the price is over 2000$, so it doesn't even count.
Years ago there was something called a Skober kit available for the Makarov. This consisted of a modified valve exactly as you have done and also a new valve " throat" to increase the capacity of the available gas , similar to how you have increased the capacity with the brass plug and the drilling out the ports, so everything you've done should have a good effect on upping the power
How does it affekt the shooting with this space open? Other fire rate? More rekoil? Diffrent sound? Video when you shooting?😊
Thanks for your message. It makes no difference in any way. All exactly the same.
did both of your guns have the spring for the ejector rod lockup missing? The spring on mine was missing so I had to buy some on Amazon for 8€. At first I sent in a spare parts request to Umarex... they simply ignored it.
Doesn’t surprise me tbh. Umarex customer care is terrible! Missing on the black one but at least the locating notch was there albeit wedged inside. The chrome one had nothing. It has the hole for the spring and notch but no hole in the side where the locking pin needs to go.
Very nice work , credit where credit's due .I have a comprehensive hobby workshop and have made full length barrels for all my revolvers,( my M29 is now a full length .22 barrel) also made a silenced Nagant Revolver but I know how difficult this can be.Details on how you managed to do it would be interesting .
Hi, many thanks for your nice comments. Very much appreciated. I have done a few other valve assembly mods which increased the power. There are videos on my channel about this including one where I drill out the valve itself. I’m still searching for a suitable 177 full length rifled barrel that I can put in the m29. In the uk, shops won’t sell you just a barrel!. So I’m hoping to find a suitable donor airgun that I can use the barrel from. Your mods sound fantastic. Have you or are you going to upload any videos on them and what you have done? Thanks 👍
Hi, you can buy barrels but they are subject to needing to send to your local RFD with all the charges that entails but if you know somebody who can turn it down for you it's pretty easy. I've recently bought a 177 HW45 barrel and a 177 bsa rifle barrel from local RFDs. Posting on YT is way beyond my skills level lol. Working on making an oversize valve to fit in the M29 valve housing . Watched all your vids on the valve mods, excellent work I've got to say! given me a few ideas. I prefer the Nagant over the 629/M29 ( half the weight/Size , 7 shots and slightly more powerful but a lot louder...has 3 ports in a bigger valve) but there are zero spares avaliable for that pistol, mess up and it could be a write off so I'll stick with working on a spare M29 valve I bought
@@Waxmax If you find what you search in CANADA i can ship to you. Quick question Did you have ever been able to raise the FPS on a KWC 1911 style gun ? (KWC/GLETCHER/CYBERGUN'ELITE FORCE they are the same model)
Love it !
Thank you 👍
Great tutorial. I did this yesterday... starting with the easiser side. I would say iook me around 5 hours all in, but not in one straight hit !! I used fountain pen ink to see the high sp[ots... because that is what i had to hand. and its super eay to clean off. id already finished the outser side with fiddes hard wax oil... so no issue with getting ink into the wood.... (ie be careful if you use ink !!) I didi't have any issue. But then I've been making furniture for years and have all the tools i needed. I did it almost entrirely by hand as it goes. chisels and knives (SHARP) slowly and carfully. As Waxmax says. Don't rush it. its not possible to get it 100% perfect as the grips are not 100% identical to shape of teh black plasting ones.... but you can get it 99.5% which is wayyyyy beter than the plasttic. The wood is hard, but prones ot schips and slinters so super shard tools are to my mind the most important part of this. I saved a lot of time by watching this video. Cheers fella ! yuo inspired me to give it a go and i'm super happy with the end result.
Hi, thank you for your comment. Really pleased to hear that you tried and succeeded in doing the same thing. Would be great to see some photos if you’re able to upload them to TH-cam.
sorry bro, one question to ask, it seem like you have cut the screw, is it because that can't go through the capsule right? now it has no problem to put the capsule to use ? but something gets me, like if there is no screw going through the grip, how can the gun hold the grip in right position?? doesnt it fall off?
Hi thanks for your question. I’m guessing you didn’t watch the whole video? The fixed side is secured with x4 screws the the original Umarex one. The removable grip secured with x2 magnets in the grips which meet with x2 magnets on the gun and frame. There are also x2 locating pins which keep the grips solids and secure. Thanks again 👍
@@Waxmax oh yeh i was checkin out in mute in company office , haha wow it seem like more procedure than i've expected. magnets look like main tough part to follow.
Hi every body , thank for this video ..! I' m just to buy a Walther PPK/S co2 bbs umarex this sunday , on web-shop , so it must be recept in 2 days , I wish ..! I' ve got a great replica CO2 bbs 4,5mm too from Makarov Baïkal , model MP654K in Inox satin finish , and this gun is made 100% iron ( except the grips , in plastic or wood , very nice I've got the both ) .. And this mp654k has 3 joules , after modif power come 5 joules ( speed 175 m/sec average .! ) , with this power and true contruction from " Makarov Pistol " , this gun come with or without BlowBack ..!! the blow back version is new from recents lasts years ..
Like you, but over two years ago, after extensive online searches I found no actual photo examples of real Luger grips having been modified to fit the Umarex P08 or similar air gun. I figured it's only twenty bucks, I'll give it a go. I worked only with files and sandpaper, having no Dremel at the time, which did cause me issues when it got to some of the touchier areas that you found, like around the safety, the attachment screws, and edges. Like your first attempt, I also ended up taking too much material off a front edge, and especially around the bottom screws. Some areas I repaired, carefully re-scribing with an x-acto to reproduce the face cross-hatching after my repairs added back some strength and material with a cyanoacrylate & baking soda mix to those spots. You def have better fit to the edges of the frame, mine ended up being a bit "small" here and there. To keep the grips attached, I ended up adding plastic tabs and an even a metal hook to duplicate the plastic grip's original method of attachment. In the end, the wood was nice but it still ended up feeling somewhat flimsy, because it was not well attached in my opinion. Especially because I stripped the big screw holes somehow, making any attachment relying on them rather less secure. Ended up having to use some super thin & clear 3M double-sided automotive tape to attach them more securely. While they looked pretty good, they still felt hollow, much like the plastic grips it came with. I'm a perfectionist, I'll admit, so I wasn't happy with how on both yours and mine they didn't look quite right when viewed from some angles, even when fitted correctly. Yours, extending to the frame edge better, looks better I think. I just recently removed mine for the original plastic ones again which stay on rather more securely especially after I used a somewhat "permanent" thread lock to remedy the stripped screw holes. I think both the wood and plastic grips would benefit from some attached weight behind them to reduce the "hollow" feel which is the main thing that brings down this air gun reproduction, in my opinion. You know, people do pay extra for the real "Black Widow" Lugers with black bakelite grips, so I'd be happy if they just "felt more real", not hollow, maybe by finding/adding some sort of lead tape to the inside of the grip? Is there such a thing? I'm going to post some photos I just now took as proof that I actually did this, unlike all those claimed examples you and I read about before attempting. However none show them attached because I don't want to deal with the stripped screw holes unless I really have to, for example if someone wants to take these off my hands. At some point I am going to try this again, because, $twenty dolla, right? drive.google.com/file/d/1E_7lS_CspCjYqkZWSw0ZcOevFO5Muhbm/view?usp=share_link drive.google.com/file/d/1eeDh3Jy3Z8VJnTOzZnPoAdUus50xoWml/view?usp=share_link drive.google.com/file/d/1Sfv_6WEu0CfeIyEO4CXDl_ZRbsNi6HD0/view?usp=share_link drive.google.com/file/d/1779lC_rbB5cIxrLFXxYy6On8Fbh_2YUR/view?usp=share_link drive.google.com/file/d/10lBBMk4qWg3WG-zv8G3Y-u4NcbSjPhc2/view?usp=share_link drive.google.com/file/d/1Px3uIc6TQfSsxWokfIv6z3wwMx7XBeaU/view?usp=share_link drive.google.com/file/d/1822RL9i4y0ymN7qOggHr1JuotXp0Y27l/view?usp=share_link
Hi, thanks for your message. It’s nice to know someone else has also tried this. I didn’t have the issue with the grips being very thin fortunately. After my first attempt I was cautious not to remove more material than needed. I know what you mean about the black widow but it’s just too much of a black look for me. I like the wood. Would be great to see what your grips look like on the Luger
Should pick up the wooden grips that I’m having made in U.K. for the M29, I will then post pics of those plus the SAA,grips from Germany that I attached a few weeks ago, A question, does the M29 come in different finishes? My one seems a lot darker than yours , I’m going to get the 3” version but hopefully with the chrome like finish, unless it’s a trick of the camera.
Hi, I look forward to seeing your grips. I have the chrome one and black one. It’s probably the camera lighting. I’m half way through doing the grips one my black one. Just very busy with work hence no videos recently
@@Waxmax , thanks, I’d forgotten that your chrome M29 is of course the “Trust Me” gun.
@@greatunwashed1856 it was yes. So glad to have got rid of those horrific white plastic grips! I know I’ve said it before but Umarex are really missing a market place by not selling with proper wood grips. Totally transforms the gun. They could just sell them as optional extras and people would buy them. I’m so pleased with how my grips turned out. Just a pain in the backside making them fit!
@@Waxmax , Totally agree about Umarex missing a trick with the grips, and if this chap in Devon does a good job I suspect he could be busy.

in usa factory m29 are shotting 415fps out the box is it only uk model has less power?
They are the same as the uk. Thanks for confirming what the USA power is. I did wonder
isnt factory stated 410fps out the box? or in uk is much lower spec gun?
Nice job done, have you tried any power upgrade mods for this bb gun?
Thank you. I have indeed and I will be doing a video on it soon 😀

Thanks for your question. That is exactly what I did. Check out my channel and other videos and you will see 👍
👍🏻 Hey, you did a great job on this gun. Do you know where to order the original mag to make the rework?
Thank you my friend. I got my one from a place called d&b militaria based in lingfield. Usually got loads of bits and pieces listed in their website.
Ohh yes,, can it be don to umarex peacemaker to. THANKS
Yes it can 👍
Hello again. How are the things going? I did not do my change on my Webley replica. I work on a public secondary school, and classes are starting. I'd love to send you some pictures of the valves, with the measures, so maybe you could see if the valves of other replicas could end this matter. But I do not have anywhere to send. Some time ago, you said that I should make my own videos. You are right, and some months ago, that thought came across my mind, but I do not know if I can do it all by my self. It would be great for me in many ways. Meanwhile I hope I can watch new videos from you.
Hi there, I’m well thanks. Hope you are too. Just upload your photos to your TH-cam account under where it says community
@@Waxmax Hi! Many thanks!! I did not know that! It will take time, but I will do it!! Thanks for all the help you have been giving!!
They could just have a magazine that would go underneath with co2 capsule rather than nasty plastic grips
That they could
Just like you I have done this numerous times for various different guns but I'd like to point out a couple of things that might help you in the future. #1 - I've found (through my own error) that enlarging the ports (making them oval rather than round) is both easier and is just as beneficial. #2 - adding extra ports reduces the actual strength of the valve stem considerably as you are removing far too much 'meat' from the valve stem. When you consider that for CO2 to be a liquid it has to be at -80C and in the normal course of action half of the valve stem is subjected to that sub zero temperature until the valve is forced open (by the hammer) and the gas is allowed to pass through the ports and out of the stem (to propel the pellet) hence why the valve stem is made from steel rather than anything else. The problem lies with the valve stem opening and allowing the cooler gas to pass through and chill both the ports and (more importantly) the 'web' between the ports, this causes a chill/cool/heat cycle that can very often lead to a fine crack appearing across the web between the ports which unfortunately (again from experience) can lead to a part failure. The easiest solution to this is to use diamond tipped micro drill bits (like for a dremmel tool) which are very cheap (a small set of about 20 will cost you about £4 from the bay) and enlarge the already existing ports to double their size which happily allows a lot more of the web to remain (whereas your method effectively cuts the web down to less than half of it's original size) which will increase the life span of the valve stem tremendously. I'm not trying to be a smart arse just trying to help a fellow airgun enthusiast out when they are travelling down a path that I've already been down. As for the internal barrel replacement, well I've done that to two of my M29s and both of my M629s (plus 3x Umarex Colt Pythons, a DW715 6" and an 1895 Nagant revolver), it's not hard to get hold of the barrel blanks (luckily I have a friend on the best replica airgun forum, coincidentally called the 'Replica Airgun Forum', that has a lathe and even makes the forcing cones for the new barrels too) and then you can fit them yourself. You might find that it's a case of not what you know but who you know that might just help you get through the next step. Anyway keep up the good work and keep chucking out the videos buddy.
@@ShaunShearman hi, really appreciate your message and advice/input. Would love to see more videos you have done in relation to this. I’ve checked out your others and they are great. Need more please 😀. I’ve not had any issue yet with the valve and I did the original one after it came out (before I did TH-cam) thankfully it’s still ok and not cracked. I have a spare valve so might try your method out. Unfortunately in the UK there are laws relating to buying rifled barrels in their own. You need a license or need to send back original like for like barrel I order to buy a new one! Crazy! I will most likely buy the new cheap Umarex break barrel pistol with rifled barrel and use that part. The gun is about £45 uk price which is cheaper than just buying a barrel on its own. I would love to have a lathe and make own barrels but over here I would imagine that would result in a life sentence at his majesty’s pleasure! With the way the government is now I can imagine it’s only a matter of time until airguns are outlawed and probably sneezing in public! 🤣
Nice job. Yes its a pain to keep the drillbit steaddy so it will bite into the steel. I drilled the holes for the airsoft version yesterday and got a good rise in power. Maybe you have seen the video?
Thank you my friend. A bit long and boring and not very close up video but I thought why not. I did yes, and thanks again as always. I’m guessing the airsoft valve assembly was the same as the bb one? The mods can be a bit tricky but you nailed it and also got great results. Although the shot count per co2 goes down as expected, it’s still more than you get with a blowback model with lower power and because of having to reload after six shots, makes it feel even higher. I heard back from handicraft grips and they have finished making my order and will be shipping them tomorrow for me. Then I can make them fit on the 8 inch version. Looking forward to seeing that one finished as well. I have a couple of other ideas planned with the m29 which I will be doing videos on. Later this week I am hoping to do a video on testing some new pellets. I had a quick test yesterday with very impressive results!! I look forward to more of your videos as always 😀
@@Waxmax Thanks my friend. Yes the valves are the same. No difference at all. I dont mind fewer shots since I get good power from it now. I have been thinking about drilling the valves and valvestems for many years but didnt think it was possible, until I watched your videos. When I could see you did it then I thought I must have a go. Very glad I did😃. so thanks for showing us. Iam looking forward to your videos. Wood grips on the 8 inch version sounds supper cool. Keep up the good work my friend😃
Good evening Rune. Reading your message really made me happy knowing that you gained the confidence to do the valve mod by watching one of my videos. Massive thanks!!! The irony is that without me watching you and other videos, I wouldn’t have started doing my videos. What a strange paradox 😂. Like with all these things, there are risks involved as you know. It comes down to money at the end of the day. I’ve made mistakes like drilling through that m29 valve body. But without making these mistakes, I would not learn how to push the boundaries of what is possible. Onwards and upwards. I look forward to seeing more of your videos on replicas and mods. Perhaps a similar mod on that Dan Wesson??
@@Waxmax Good evening my friend. We like to tinker😃. Before I watched your drilling videos all I did was to change the valvespring or shim the hammer spring. Now I feel its possible to tune most of these CO2 guns. Guess a similar mod can be made on the Dan Wesson 😃👍
Would opening up the two existing holes work? Could you elongate them to get the same effect? Anyway well done they look factory
Thank you, my video was a bit crap but iPad just got in the way when it was closer. Was keen to show the full video of the hole drilling though. Yes, if you can do that I imagine it would be the same. I did actually try this once on a different model. It just took so long to do hence the extra holes which I found to be quicker and less painful.
Well damn Waxmax. You made it look easy. I am going to use this video as reference for my screw ups 😂 Thanks for posting.
🤣 it’s not easy. I’ve just done it a few times already on the m29 and others I’m yet to do videos on. My video was not as clear as I wanted it to be. I couldn’t get the iPad close enough without getting in the way. Interestingly, the power difference is greater on the 6inch version. But that has a full length 4.5mm barrel. The 8 inch only has about half that in 4.5mm. The rest is 6mm! Wtf??!! I will be working on that! Now, here is the interesting part. You can’t buy an actual rifled barrel in the uk without a licence or you have to return the original like for like barrel in order to be sent a new one. However, you can buy a gun which obviously has a rifled barrel! Go and figure that one out!! So, I will be buying the cheap Umarex pistol, forget its name, but it’s a new model. It’s a break barrel with a non shrouded barrel in 177. They do it as a 6 inch and a longer version. Only £45 for the whole thing. That less than just a barrel!! I tell you, the uk has such “unique” laws! It’s utter madness. I look forward to seeing your attempts. It seems that you and rune are in competition as to who will be first to get those figures up. I wonder if a small spray of ptfe silicone inside the barrel would reduce friction and increase the fps??
@@Waxmaxthere is always some friendly competition of course or it wouldn’t be fun 😁
@@lesslethalfordummies true that!! 😀
Hello Waxmax. I got an issue to workout and as i need to talk to you, and as I do not have another way, I am doing it through here. This is my question. I own a Webley revolver replica in 6mms. (WEBLEY FULL METAL REVOLVER G293A (CO2 POWERED)). The ''needle''that pierces the CO2 canister, leaks all the gas, when I I put the canister in, and try to put it the gun. I believe that such part, may not be much different from your M29s. Do you know why has this for sell?? 1000 thanks in advance! Good Sunday!!
Hi there, hope you are well. I’m guessing your model is made by Umarex? If so I believe the co2 seal is the same green one. You can buy these online like eBay. If you do replace the seal, remove the valve assembly from the gun first though. Otherwise, get a used co2. Heat it up with hairdryer. Get it very hot. Also heat the green seal the same way with it still in the gun. Then put a thin layer of silicone grease on top of the co2 and put in the gun and tighten up. The heating of co2 and seal softens them. So when you tighten up it helps create a better seal. Leave until it’s cooled down and remove the empty co2 and try a new one. Hopefully that works. Otherwise try a small piece of ptfe tape over the co2. Then put in gun. This will only be temporary for that one co2 and you would need to do it again with further co2 replacements. I would do the heat trick first. It has worked countless times for me in the past. Just gut the co2 and seal hot!! Then tighten. Let me know how you get on
@@Waxmax Hello again! Sorry to bother you, again too. I found a video here on TH-cam, and the author shows to take apart the Wingun Webley ( mine is the Well one as I've said before ) ''Vintage Airsoft'' is the fellow and the video is: Webley Mark VI disassembly video. The painting was going away before this new mater, just by passing my finger finger nail, but that is another battle!!
So after all the mods how much fps was gained and is it worth it? They are tin can bashers after all.
Out of 48 shots it maxed at 568fps and lowest was 328fps. After adding up all 48 shots fps figures it gave average of 480fps. It’s very accurate as it is but I will be putting a riffled barrel in and using it for more accurate target fun. Are there higher power air pistols, yes. Are they replicas of real steel models, no. That’s why I like it so much. Thanks for your questions 👍
@@Waxmax 😊 I just bought one myself, pellpax were selling them for half price.
@@JohnMcintosh-dm1gn yeh they have good sales on at Pellpax. It’s where I got the 8 inch one from recently in same sale as you. I’ve already done the valve mod to that one too. Just waiting for the wood grips to arrive 😀
@@Waxmax I tried to find some wood grips online but with no success, is there a specific site?
I can’t remember the website but there is a place in Germany that makes direct replacements. Someone left a comment on one of my m29 videos saying the name of site. They look ok but are only smooth finish. They would be oversized like the Umarex ones. I bought mine from handicraft grips in Thailand. They need a lot of remodelling to make them fit and you need to cut gun game down. I’ve uploaded a load of videos on here showing the process
I ported the valve stem on mine (opened the twin holes up quite a bit) and fitted a fully rifled inner barrel into all of my 29s & 629s (I've got them all) and it has definitely helped to increase the overall FPS performance and obviously the new inner barrels have increased the accuracy too. The washer that you've removed from the valve assembly is a 'crush' washer, made from a softer material (probably aluminium) that's designed to deform under pressure to allow a far better (notably stronger) seal between the valve seat and the rest of the valve assembly, these are disposable parts that you normally get in the Umarex valve service kit for the gun. The valve stem spring can be lightened to allow longer valve opening times but you've got to remember that the pellet will take a certain length of time to move from the cartridge, along the barrel and out of the gun, any gas being released after this time is just being vented rather than being used as a projection force. Porting the valve stem (or adding extra holes) is a more practical way to get the CO2 through the valve in the quickest possible way and increasing the valve opening time (by reducing the spring pressure in the valve stem return spring) is just wasteful when it comes to the propellant. If I was you I would concentrate on getting the inner barrel replaced before doing anymore 'adjustments' to the valve assembly as there is quite a bit of extra FPS to be gained from the gun by fitting a full length inner rifled barrel to it.
Great tips thank you. Where did you get your rifled barrels from or what gun are they off? I’m struggling to find one
Congratulations on the work done to increase power, excellent. Just attached the wooden grips to Colt SAA, that I ordered from Germany, they make my favourite revolver (brought up on westerns) just that bit more perfect, went to see the wood artist with my M29 he is going to make wooden grips for that including the chequered pattern, American Walnut, he has done grips for an “Antique “ American gun so not new to it, £100, which I think is very reasonable. I will let you know the results.
Amazing!! Would love to see photos. Are you able to upload any?
@@Waxmax , I know it sounds pathetic but don’t know how, neither of us would want our emails out there but I had the thought that you probably use the same gun shop if you cleared it with them I could send pics to them and obviously they would pass them on,what do you think ?
@@greatunwashed1856 you can upload pics in the community section on your TH-cam profile. Or just do a short video and post on here?
@@Waxmax I certainly have a go at that, and if I run into problems I’ll get my son to do it,
🤣 that’s what you do when you know your getting old. I know the feeling all too well!!! Yet when it comes to anything practical most kids don’t have a clue. That makes me feel better 😆
Maybe dont drink all the beer first 😂
But what a waste it would be 🤣
👍
Wow! Nice power now. Keep up the good work my friend. Will you do all the mods on the 8 inch version also?
Thanks Rune. It was an impromptu video I did when home from work. I will be doing all the same mods to the 8 inch one for sure. Also plan some testing with lead pellets and accuracy. I’ve also done some similar mods to the mp40 and Lee Enfield smle. All increased in power. The smle I loaded with a single promethios pullet and it put a hole through an old car door! I have realised that I have to go to the limits to see a difference. Not sure how Umarex can say the 8 inch model gives up to 10fps more than the 6 inch one seeing as the 6 inch bb model has a full length 4.5mm barrel and the 8 inch, like yours, only has about half the barrel as 4.5mm and the rest is 6mm! So the reality is that the 6 inch actually has a longer barrel than the 8! My god this stuff is doing my head in 😂
@@Waxmax Yes its very strange that Umarex didnt put in a full length barrel in the 8 inch version. It only has a 5 inch barrel.... Looking forward to your videos 😃
Hi Rune, hope you are well. I’ve just been doing some more playing with the valve. I borrowed a tap from neighbour and fixed the original valve which is the one I experimented on drilling before doing new valve. If you recall, it was the only valve where I drilled to 4.5mm down the shaft. The other one I did to 4mm as I went drilled through the edge ruining when I tried 4.5mm again. Anyway. I also hollowed out under where the co2 punctures. Not the piercing part itself but the aluminium part allowing a larger gap between the bottom of the valve puncture pin and valve body. I’ve just chronoed a total of 48 shots with new co2. Here are all the numbers in order from first to last; 514, 410, 484, 365, 364, 474, 378, 523, 489, 534, 515, 540, 533, 514, 515, 568, 516, 526, 543, 504, 517, 521, 497, 514, 506, 532, 534, 529, 536, 529, 505, 516, 516, 507, 487, 501, 495, 494, 453, 457, 441, 440, 438, 374, 387, 368, 356, 328. Worked out average of 480fps. Before, on the last valve body, it maxed at 509fps. Thought I would share this with you being a numbers man yourself.
@@Waxmax Hi my friend. Thanks for the info. Very good power. The highest was 568 fps wich is 3,87 fpe or 5,3 joule and that is impressive. Some fluxing in velocity but after the first cylinder it settels down nicely. Great job my friend. Keep up the good work. Take care and have a nice weekend 😃
Wanted to try this, also wanting more custom makers to make upgrades. Or Umarex to rerelease the gun with the right details, like the stampings not painted on. Or the cylinder release not having markings around it. A blued ejector rod, inner barrel painted, a better cylinder without the lines and groves around it, better chambers, valve painted, better trigger (the single action is pretty heavy.), better internals (the cast parts are crap and break. I’ve had a R8 break within 2 months and Umarex and their official U.K. importer “Land Warrior” have refused to replace or fix it. As it’s out of warranty. Well Umarex can’t even get back in touch. So I don’t know if I would even buy another product from them, or recommend them. As they seem to make some crappy stuff, rebranded stuff and some of their stuff is pretty good. But their customer service and warranties are terrible.
Yes I’ve had runnings with Umarex customer care before and they are not helpful. Such a shame. But they do have some good replicas and until another company comes along and does better I don’t have much choice. Northeast do some amazing replicas in airsoft and I have a couple. Shame they don’t do airguns too
Wonderful job I did the same to mine. Also swapped out the hex screws on the side plate to the correct ones. Also did my ejector rod lock up. And last but not least white outline window on rear sight. Bravo my friend
Ahh the white line around rear sight! Yes I’ve seen that and thanks for reminding me. I will get that done. What hex screws? I want to replace the x head screws with flat ones but not sure on the thread size. Do you know? It’s the two large ones and three smaller ones that hold on the plate. Do you have pics of yours to share? Would love to see
Great videos fella thank you for sharing, be really interesting to see how the 8” version performs if you swapped the valve over from the 6”. 👍🇬🇧
Thank you my friend I try. I won’t be swopping the valves over but I will be copying what I did on to the 8 inch valve so stay tuned for that and also the wood grips on same 8 inch model. I need more hours in the day!! 🤣
👍
Every little bit counts 👍🏼
100fps + thats a great improvement. Thanks for the shout out. There are so many content creators that are yet to be discovered. Glad Rune shared your channel with us.
Thanks Shaun, it’s great to see new undiscovered channels pop up from time to time. I look forward to your next glock video
Your attention to detail shows. I can tell how much those little white square bits bother you. Maybe if you intricately cut some little chrome stickers?
I have thought about that too lol. I might try as there is no harm in it. It’s just annoying really. Think it will be easier to do on the black one
@@Waxmaxmy wife just bought some acrylic paint pens for her craft project. They are very reflective and could also resemble chrome.
Ooh really? Do you have any more details on them like brand etc?
