That’s astonishing really. Looking very good and respect the dedication. Metal butt plates were a thing in the 70s and would like to get one for my 629. I say go with the butt plate. It’s rare for a YT channel to get a lot of subs quickly. Many channels are on for years before they get traction unless they do something viral.

Thanks appreciate your comments. I didn’t know that about the 70s. Very interesting. I will do the plate and then see how it all turns out with and without and go from there. More bloody work! 😂 but I do enjoy it. Just wish I had more tools to make it easier. I’m working with hand tools and a pillar drill.

Thanks for this trial & error video series. After wathing and learning, I'm going to send my plastic grips to someone who masters graining. That's the easiest route to get 'em look real walnut I think?

Hi again!! I am sooo happy that you came up so fast with this video. It was so ggot to watch it. Meanwhile, I bought the ASG chromed 6inc Dan Wesson, and I am so damn afraid that it could break like the blued M29😮😢😢!! I emptied only one C02, so far... And I would prefer to change it grips to wood ones, like you are Bravery doing to yours M29s... Keep showing us your moves, please!! At least I get know-how, and courage!!

Hi. The Dan Wesson is a good looking replica. Well made to I believe. Does your shells load from the front or back? I know the earlier ones loaded from the front by unscrewing the fake bullet. The later loaded from the back. If they load from the back it’s a newer model with increased fps. Would be good to see what you have and what grips you want to fit. You should upload a video

@@Waxmax Hi again!! My DW l's she'll load from the front. The gun itself looks strong, but now that I got it here, all it's making is not different from your M29s. I have WhatsApp and I can show it with all the details. I am disappointed with the construction and afraid it breaks. And even before I bought it, I watched many good videos about it. So it was not a complete surprise. We should talk through other means... ( At this very moment I am watching again that video where you show your broken blued M29...)

You can buy the rear loading shells if you wanted them. I have seen and held the Dan Wesson and it looked really nice. I wouldn’t worry about cracking the frame. The only reason this happened with me is because the co2 seal retaining nut wasn’t fitted properly so when tightening the co2 it just leaked. To try and stop the leaks I overtightened it way too much. I mean a lot, and that caused the crack in frame. If your seals are ok you will only need to lightly tighten the co2 in place.

@@Waxmax 1000 Thanks for your explanation about the reasons that lead to your frame M29's crack. You had told that before. About the loading shells as I told you they are load from the front, but there is no need to unscrew the fake projectil. It is made of a rubberish soft plastic that allows it to be done this way. My BBs are on a table, and I press the ''ammo'' upside down agais it, and it goes in... I got here some live real .357Mags, and soon I will check if they fit in the cylinder. Of course the only reason is to check the realism of the replica, on this ''chapter''... I like to own the most realistic replicas I can afford. And if they work close to the real thing, it is even better. If I could afford japanese replicas, and find a way to bring them here, 70% of my fears and problems with replicas, would go away maybe forever!! I am going now watch the 2 videos from you I have not yet seen!!

Hello, thank you very much for your work and effort. I found a page on the Internet who is called „Woodgripsandmore“ because I myself have also the idea of adjusting wooden Handgrips for my M29 Smith&Wesson Revolver. Unfortunately, the fishbone skin is missing from these wooden Grips, but you could pushing in the Fishbone Skin, and you could take the original emblems from the original Grips and insert them into the wooden handles. You only have to incorporate the fish skin and emblems, but as skilled in craftsmanship as you are, this should not be a problem for you.
But your result still looks very good.
    Cheers and thank‘s again

Thanks for your message. I’m not sure what fishbone skin is? I googled it and seen images but those don’t represent the grips that I am fitting and replicate the gun from live and let die??

@@WaxmaxHi, i mean the pattern of the wooden grips Like this Originals do you have from Thailand because the woodgrips from the Woodgripsandmore unfortunately haven‘ the pattern and emblems. Here, only the pattern has to be incorporated into the wood
The advantage of these handles is that you don't have to work the frame too much. But yes, I understand that you would look the revolver as authentic as possible as in Live And Let Die.

Hi again, I understand what you mean now thanks. Not sure where in the world you are but does Thailand not post to you? I like the smooth grips. I believe they are called “presentation grips” in fact, these grips were fitted to a couple of the Dirty Harry guns featured in the films. If you search Dirty Harry gun on TH-cam you will find a guy who looks over an original Dirty Harry gun and that has the smooth grips fitted. They are also missing the emblem. Look nice! I certainly would attempt to create that stippled/fish skin look without the correct tooling. I believe it was all done by machine.

@@johnnygrumble5142 I did consider getting a gunsmith to do the chequering ("Fishbone skin") on the woodengripsandmore examples... for the moment though, I've just kept the original plastic grips on.
