I would love to see the bloodline system come back!! 4:04 edit: or something like it
1:22 crusader kings pets dlc leak??
A button in allies wars that allows you to command (IA follows you) in exchange of prestige or piety
2024 has been a great year for CK3. Give yourselves a pat on the back! A few things on my wishlist: -Religious schemes, such as secret conversions for lords, vassals etc as well as a more involved way to convert masses. Also a way to get more involved at accusing people of blasphamy etc -Indian flavour packs -Trading routes
It is urgent to add horde/nomad dynamics, tributary system and West African and Indian focused expansions. A big part of the map now is kinda shallow and unattractive to play in.
Is "bespoke" your favourite word?
I love you ck3 dev team
We love you too, we're just not "in" love with you
@ : (
Nomads, want the ability to erase settlements again. More culture options, and more ease for hybridising and researching fascinations as adventurers. More camp options!
Could we have options about having children? In the blink of an eye my characters have eleven children and one without land and without primogeniture. It is very costly to disinherit. And not to mention choosing a good son or daughter to govern the few lands that one manages to possess.
Wonderful summary for a mostly great year. As you mentioned more than once your transparency and dialog with the community really paid off, and the way you responded so soon to Merchants being in Chapter 5 (probably) and not 4 is a great evidence of that - Im a bit disappointed but your explanation makes sense and I can't wait to see what you planned for us next Chapter instead (as many here guessed Nomads+Silk road makes a lot of sense, but who knows). On the other hand I love that you have your own vision and don't immediately give away to every random fan service which can be damaging as well. About Legends that's amazing, I was really hoping you'd do that but honesty was quite skeptic. Legends have a lot of potential, but need some major changes to be a cohesive fun story driven mechanism. About working with modders that's awesome! I'd love to see event and culture packs like the amazing RICE being added to the game! All of this really shows you guys care about your game and community, happy holidays!
As a mostly role-playing player, the #1 thing that I'm looking for in 2025 is content (events, activites, decisions...) for the non European cultures out there. It's understandable why Western Europe, Byzantium and maybe the Islamic world get the big piece of cake, but now would be a great time in my opinion for Africa and Asia to feel unique
Please stop with the family friendly game of thrones thing you're going for, just fully commit to the medieval simulator please, it's so silly having like half the "bring me (his/her) head" contracts be like 40/50% female, it'd be cool and more memorable if it was once in a while as i'm sure that happened in History but you're taking away all weight it could have from it by making them so common. Or at least make it dependant on one of the many different game rules covering gender stuff. Also stop making roleplayers pay the price for power gamer complaints about difficulty, especially if your balance changes just consist in making the game more tedious as a stand in for challenge. Also i'm begging you fix the allied AI, right now it's just not satisfying to do a mercenary company run unless you already have enough MAA to win the war on your own, since the allied AI is completely braindead and will ditch you when the enemy approaches even if they're one county away. It's insanely unreliable. War in general needs a dedicated DLC to make it more engaging than play whack a mole by stacking army movement speed. This was a really good year DLC wise overall though, i'm definitely screaming into the void anyway but it needs to be pointed out.
We are definitely getting dogs and cats modeled 🗣️
Warfare update and nomads we want
I would like to see the implementation of a knighting ceremony with the accolades system. An activity where we gain favor and prestige knighting or giving an accolade to one of our knights.
My wishlist: * Make the wasteland from Russia to Mongolia playable or you can colonize it. Or when you conqeur that area the map fill the void of the wasteland. * A form for playable republic system. * Horde/nomads, system that was pretty nice from ck2 * The societies and cults from CK2 * Religion focused dlc * Maybe extend the map a bit feels pretty small compared to eu4 or vic 3 * The fog system that is in Eu4 so you have to explore to find other countries. * More indepth HRE from eu4. * Coranation in the Catholic world, where the kings and emperors have to get them self corinated. * More buildings, special buildings. * More innovations after late medival era * More timelines, 769, 969, 1337. * Traits can change over time when your character gets older or get a stress event. Or other events like a kid dies in battle and you become vengful for the person who took his life * Combat overhaul, ai become smarter more aggresive, maybe they can manage their maa better. * More indepth economy like from Vic 3 and eu4. * Trade routes from eu4, and have more powerfull baronies where trade nodes go through. * Glitterhoof Pretty great game, put on 2,1 k hours in a year can't wait for more updates.
11:52 someone is having a secret Todd religious practice huh? That is a valid Casus Belli
CK3 needs economy! I play Victoria 3 more because of that reason alone. I still love this game, but a working economy would make it amazing.
My guess for 2025-The Silk Road (hence, something that will help the merchants) and subsequently the nomads around it.
Wouldn't silk road need china to make sense?
@@HandyDandy6 In CK2 they made it work.
@artursartemjevs6097 fair i haven't played much of ck2 unfortunately
Warfare needs to get scrapped and entirely remade. It’s pitifully boring yet happens constantly. It’s a clicking simulator and we’re tired of it. I want something completely new.
All I want is East Asia map expansion! There are many mods that do it already and that makes one think the developers can make it much better.
I'm actually opposed to this for now. I think they need to add more flavor the areas we already have on the map before adding more.
I think QoL improvements are necessary. I spend so much time on repetitive tasks in the game, especially late game. Examples: - Managing the education of children: Send to University is confusing. If I want to send a child to university, I have to tick a box when guardianship is offered. If I want to the decision later, I have to remove the guardian and appoint them again It is also not clear if a child is even going to a university when looking at their profile. Just let's have a Tutelage/Ward panel where we can appoint Guardians to eligible children, see the education qualities, universities, etc. So much room for interconnectedness you mention in this diary. - Mass releasing prisoners: for example, I want to convert any prisoner that will accept and ransom the others - the only way to do this right now is spending 2 clicks just to check if a prisoner would accept, multiplied by the number of prisoners, it adds up) - Mass converting vassals: similar to before, if I have a bunch of vassals that I want to convert, I have to Find A Character, filter by vassal relation and by faith difference, and check every single vassal there, Demand Conversion and then see if they are willing. Clicking this interaction closes the Find A Character window, so I have to immediately open it up again and rinse and repeat. This is insanely time consuming and hurts the flow of gameplay. -Managing armies so they don't starve: when controlling large armies, one has to constantly click through the stack and send the individual armies to nearby counties, manually checking each county and its supply limit. Moving stacks is thus incredibly annoying, as only one destination can be selected. A system that would automatically distribute armies so they don't starve themselves to death, including a possibility for staggered movement so the army doesn't die off before reaching the destination. Rreally, this is highly unsatisfying gameplay if it could be called that. While absolute control of army movement is crucial at times, I think that choice should be secondary to a more general solution. -Managing characters that I am able to pardon or imprison, and other recommended actions: a crucial part of the gameplay sits in the recommended action pop up (the little thing that lights up?) for me. But navigating through it is annoying, ass rows keep jumping up and down while doing the actions. A panel for Prison would be nice too, there the player would see all the characters that are imprisonable and THE REASON FOR THEIR CRIME. "Fornicator" isn't enough! If I have a reason to imprison someone, I want to know why. Who did they try to murder? I don't know, should I care? Generally, imprisonment could be an interesting gameplay dimension. Also, why can't I wage a war against someone when they imprison my kin unlawfully? I can wage a war for the Pilgrim's Guide... These all have in common that they force an unengaging gameplay that, at least to me, breaks the flow of the game. I don't think I should be inclined to play a duke instead of an emperor just because I don't want to deal with all the tedium. It's immersion breaking. Besides those, some things are plain annoying, like unskippable tournaments cinematics that make me less inclined to engage with tournaments at all, and various bugs - mainly in event choice effects, that take me out of the game completely and I am left with the choice that is the least bugged out. Then there are Accolades that are still a bit confusing to me (especially succession) and time consuming. I have returned to the game after playing a bit of CK2 and then CK3 after it launched. The game is glorious, I am having SO much fun! The various new additions really made the game sing. And while I don't have all the DLCs yet and I do not know many things (maybe the annoyances I have are solvable already, but still, the game didn't tell me that), the difference is remarkable. I am really engaging in the RPG aspect of it all. And I feel really strongly that anything that takes focus on the characters and that makes their connections and the places they occupy shine brighter, the better. It makes me more likely to remember them and create stories with them. The kind of visual updates you have teased are great for this. I haven't played landless yet but from what I'm seeing it's the next thing on my list. Overall, I'm just really pumped for what's to come. But I also wish you would polish some areas more, in general. In my opinion it would make this A game A+.
I really wanna see future docs keep multiplayer in mind a bit, the best part in my opinion with multiplayer is interacting with other players. Maybe a dlc on personal schemes?
Two small things I’d like to see the team consider: 1: considering most of the default characters have randomized traits, you should add a randomizer to the selection screen so we do not have to repeatedly back out of the new game character selection menu until we get the roll we want. 2. Genius should be like Possessed/Lunatic/Melancholic etc in that it takes a few years for it to emerge. I feel like it would be both more realistic and offer a little more weight to succession when you don’t know which child is the genius.
Wait that’s actually a Genius idea…lol. That would make the mini game of choosing a player heir more interesting
Rework the legitimacy system Wars for imprisoned family members or hostages. And add the knights manager continued mod to the base game, make the family coat of arms and motto save able sick of starting from scratch all the time.
Western Rome could use much love. Pope gameplay and Vatican lifestyle. Traveling merchants and Silk Road (China events?!). Commoners occupations(I personally want sailor content). [As for fixing plagues its a bit tricky. Currently its annoying as all hell for an empire. and for small counts there is nothing to be done on your towns. It needs both more options if you desire to care(more doctors, contentment and isolation) and if its just one of hundreds during your rule it needs to be less tedious]. You guys are making peak ck content lets keep it up!
God dang it, automate education of children FFS!!!!!!!!
2 things I would like: Charlemange start date. Leif Eriksson Exploring, I want to see both greenland and Vinland.
The big feature I've wanted for a long time is a designated landed title for my heir that doesnt ruin him being an heir. For example in England the 'Prince of Wales" being given wales as a temporary holding which helps him get certain skills/experience but doesnt remove him from my 'control' as actually landing your heir does. (Or in France the Dauphine, etc) - being able to designate a duchy that belongs to the heir and maybe is an extra duchy that passes along during inheritance to their heir once they have one. If they have no heir then that duchy's administration is maybe given to the current ruler but they get no gold from it until they have an heir. I think everything was great this year excitement wise, barring legends. My worry is that I love the game as a casual player, but... as a casual player I find it to be a very difficult game in that there are a lot of things you have to track and remember to do while if you check the forums they complain that the game is too easy. Also each expansion seems to add more potential complexity without necessarily feeling rewarding. Take the throne room for example. I have to pay currency to enter and can come out worse than how I went in after being given a number of no win scenarios, or leaving the only good choices options I can't currently afford. Furthermore, most of these choices seem to have any significant impact on my realm which ruins the immersion. Beyond that many events fire over and over and over with the exact same events. Also at this point the options screen at game start needs tabs to group similar options instead of becoming an endless scroll-athon to try and find the one setting you may want to tweak.
NAVAL COMBAT AND EAST ASIAN MAP EXPANSION PLEASE 🙏 Love CK3 but the map feels so incomplete and makes late game feel like you're playing in a vacuum. And those are literally the two things you need for an economic expansion. i,e Silk Road and trade companies.
My wishlist: Republic playable, Horde/nomads, Religion-focused dlc, Something like the societies in CK2
I am waiting for steppe rework. We know that the Turks were a very active cultural group in the Middle Ages. Cultures with a Turkic heritage should be stronger and more active. There should be a nomadic government for the steppe nations. There should be an electoral system for the Turks and Mongols. We need Silk Road and Spice Road. For the starting date of 1066, the Seljuk invasion of Anatolia could be like the Hungarian Invasion.
Put merchant republics and horse lords back in
voice
Thank you for your amazing work this year! Chapter 3' expansions made the game so much more fun and deeper. And please give some love to the Catholic Church and the Pope in Chapter 4. Make us lobby and advance our own cardinal, only for that cardinal to turn on us the moment he becomes Pope. Make it possible to play as the Pope, to declare our own Antipopes, and to intrigue the hell out of it every step of the way. Force the Holy Roman Emperor crawl on his knees to you, asking for your forgiveness of his sins, while you roleplay as the most decadent, hedonist, harem-wielding Pope known to man... not that I would want to play that, solely posting this for a shy friend.
Please come Turkish language support
Please come Turkish language support
Thank you all for your hard work, and I wish you good luck in next year. I love this game, and I know it would not be like this without good developers, modders and fandom. Thank you❤
Cool. Now, after those tons of cosmetics, give us something REAL to play with. Trade, governments, alliances, resources, coins, wars that feels like wars, actual state to rule over,.. 'Roads to Power' was much-needed step in right direction, but game still feels bland compared to CK2. This is historical strategy game, not court's hunchback simulator.
I'm hoping you pay a little attention to the romance system. It's really ridiculous when my 2 prowess queen has to save her 36 Martial giant herculean husband from a wolf.
My greatest wish is a HRE expansion (but not a struggle, please...) 🦅👑⚔️ Here are some ideas: -2-step coronation: Right after inheritance, you travel to Cologne/Aachen to get crowned by one of the prince-bishops. But to become a true emperor (and maybe unlock some extra mechanics), you gotta travel down to Italy to see the pope. For this, he needs to have a positive opinion of you. -Travelling court: We got camps and estates in the new DLC, so why not adjust the HRE ruler to meet historical accuracy and have the imperial court move once in a while, maybe every 1-2 years. You could still own domains and profit from them, but you're not gonna have a permanent capital. The latter could be unlocked via an innovation or decision. Rulers near your current location or those who you recently visited will have a higher opinion of you, those in remote / barely visited corners of the realm a lower opinion. -The investiture conflict should definitely be implemented, giving you the eventual option to succeed and appoint your own bishop (and more religion related decisions). But PLEASE DON'T add another struggle mechanic that will alter the entire realm and force you to make unimmersive and counter-intuitive decisions in order to check random stat boxes. Please, Paradox, find something smarter! -The events that truly defined the HRE were the Imperial Diets (Reichstag), they were pretty unique, lasted weeks or months and could shake up the entire realm dynamics. How about a Reichtstag event (5 years cool down) not unlike a grand wedding or tax tour where you could sway your vassals, reform your succession laws or convince vassals to join you in a holy war! -The new character interactions to leverage political influence, esp. in the ERE, are pretty cool and so much better than repetitive scripted events or clunky struggle mechanics. I think they could play a great role to make the HRE more fleshed out as a complex entity with factions etc. without turning it into an admin realm (which it wasn't). -The emperor's role as guardian of christianity should be implemented somehow. They could initiate or lead crusades, support foreign christian rulers in a holy war, and defend the pope when he's under attack.
Congrats on a successful turnaround in the 2nd half of this year. Roads to Power really improved the game on a profound level and gave me back my hope for (and joy with) CK3. And this vid is promising more. The announcement to focus on more dynamic, in-the-moment types of events instead of long event chains is a sign that you've in fact started to listen to the community. Finally! Apart from the labyrinthic and repetitive event chains, I think this amazing, fantastic, beautiful game is suffering from a lot of bugs, implementation issues and sometimes an absence of love for detail. For example: How can it be that 9 months after the release of Legends of the Dead, my finished legend text sounds worse than something ChatGTP could have coughed out in 30 seconds. And often the text is incomplete or not readable. How come none of this gets fixed? You now have made me curious about the quality of life update in q1. If you can accomplish what this vid is promising, this would restore a lot of faith on all sides. And as you're asking for input and wishes, here's a list of bugs and grievances a future CK3 custodian team might wanna take a look at. Keep up the good work! (incomplete list) -the accolades ui is still very opaque and cumbersome -feuds are still very bugged (enemy family never ends the feud after i did on my side) -the faction notifications bug (formed-disbanded-repeat, esp. in the early game) is still going strong -ppl who get a court position from an event immediately getting fired for no reason bug -no auto pause after character death (as it used to be) -the sound is completely broken since LotD and it's hard to understand why -clicking through the list of "ransom prisoner" is very fiddly -incomplete text in event options and missing text parts (german translation) -war goals are often not highlighted in the war declaration interface (as they used to be) -the active war menu will still have a hard tile showing the list of allies -having kids learn languages is buggy as hell -the education trait announcement in the kid's coming of age event ist ALWAYS incorrect -equipping inventar artifacts is a nightmare (you often end up replacing items you wanted to keep and having to find them on a long list)
1. More in depth war 2. More regional flavor 3. More in depth economy
Make Ireland more interesting!
Suggestions: •Add the Coronation event for Counts, Barons, Kings and Emperors. •Add the event to let a woman choose to disguise as a man to enter a tournament (why a random NPC can, but we, the players can't? 😂) Happy Holidays to all CK3 team. ♥
