    @everyone Do you have any recommendations of good things to read to improve your General English reading? @aligaeni requested suggestions! Ali, to read long articles that are similarly difficult to PTE, try: National Geographic, the Economist, New Scientist and BBC News. Or IELTS reading test materials! But... these are hard. If they are too hard, try: breakingnewsenglish.com/mini_lessons.html.

    The answer (for my quiz on facebook.com/NEOEnglishwithPam) is: 2, 1, 4, 3.
    Nitrogen−based fertilisers were introduced in the early twentieth century. This led to an increase in crop yields. Prior to this, farmers struggled with depleted soil. As a result, many countries experienced significant agricultural growth.

    Overall technique or methodology given to tackle tough task of RO P, is good. But one thing in the second example, you mentioned in the independent sentence .... Which also contains( it)....
    In some countries, it is the government 😅, ( it )
    While in the 2nd liked sentence was starting from from ; But Scotish bank....
    While in 3rd... sentence there was, The fisrt Scotish bank...
    Here's issue in first three sentences...

    • @NEOEnglishwithPam
      @NEOEnglishwithPam  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Yes, it is annoying that the first sentence contains 'it'. But here, 'it' is only for emphasis. The subject of the first sentence is 'the government'. Does that make sense?
