I’m tired of the easiest catches being dropped in game changing scenarios just because I’m not playing as a devs favorite team. Every time I play against a top ten favorite or bandwagon team I could be up by 38 at the half then all of a sudden I can’t complete any pass and my runs get stuffed behind the line while the other team can beak 4-5 tackles and 1 wr can make a miraculous catch with 4 defenders swatting at it. Again I’ll say if your not a crowd favorite team and play on a manly difficulty not some dogshit easy pro difficulty it’s fucking impossible

For me, the Gen 6 madden timeline is: 2001: This blew people away as an upgrade from the PS1, but is very flawed 2002: This was the first on the game cube and original xbox, but wasn't special. It was still very flawed. 2003: This was the first good Madden on the gen 6 consoles. A lot of the flaws of 01 and 02 were fixed. I have a video from 2023 comparing the 2002 to 2003. 2004: This was the first great madden. Not the best, but if 03 was the first good one, this was the first great one. 2005: Very good, but overrated and overshadowed by the elephant in the room - 2k5. It is really good, but I felt 07 and 08 became peek gen 6 titles. 2006: A solid game, but overshadowed by the Sizzle trailer and jump to gen 7 consoles. Also forgotten by the release of 07 and 08. 2007: This was my favorite for a long time and the first time I put more time back into Madden over 2k5. Franchise got an overhaul. 2008: This is the most popular one because it is very good and has a deep modding community on the PC. 2009-2012: I have never really played them. I am told they are similar to 08, but they don't have PC mod support and the gen 7 games were getting better at this point - especially Madden 10 and 12 on the 360 and PS3.

Reply 3: On the Xbox, the NCAA 04 import draft classes are corrupted. EA knew about this and supposedly would replace your disc if you sent it in. So, there are some copies out there without the problem, but the roms you can download and your typical used copy in the wild is likely to be part of the bugged mass produced batches. If you have a version that doesn't see corrupt imported classes, please look into ripping the game and hosting it for the archives, as that is a rare disc.

Reply 2. A lot [not all] of the game play complaints are a combination of individual player skill and slider settings. I haven't finished tuning simulation sliders on my channel yet [because I have been side tracked], but I ran a tournament last year [2023] that had solid sliders/settings that still need some tweaks.

Reply 1: Pat and John never had banter in the game. I have a Madden 2002 series on my channel, the last game Pat and John worked together in and what you claim is demonstrably untrue. In real life? Sure. In the game? No.

You totally overexagerated how bad the graphics are for this game. Pretty much what the graphics were like back then. Saying they were late PS2 level is ridiculous. 🤦‍♂️

It really sucks that the controls weren't working for you, I played this game as a kid and loved it! I beat nearly every mission, and I'm fairly certain it spawned my borderline autistic-obsession with aircraft🤣

I loved Vanquish back in the day when it came out, I picked it up & beat it on day one with one sitting. While it's on the short side there's a ton of replay value in the different difficulty modes as they introduce new enemies & if I remember correctly give some enemies new attacks as well. There's also the ability to make Sam smoke a cigarette & then toss it from behind cover to use as a distraction, it comes in handy on higher difficulties for sure. I just wish we'd get a PS5 remaster that rusmbs at 120fps for this game, cuz the pc version has issues if you unlock the frame rate (it increases damage received).

I would buy it for a Dollar!, right now is extra cheap since it's going to be soon delisted so I am curious to try it out and experience the frustrating controls by myself since I've never played the 360 version.

I actually enjoyed this game, but it’s stupidly hard. I enjoyed the controls but sometimes I would accidentally do the wrong thing, it’s really a dumpster fire 😅

I love this game I currently got it from a PS2 and honestly I love it. But however there's some stuff that is really gets under my skin with this game. I don't know if you guys have the same issue but if you have more than a 2-minute game your game can sometimes phrases for a couple seconds or just could be completely Frozen.

Great video - content-wise and length-wise. I notice you used the Madden NFL 2002 menu music for your background, that is my favorite. I liked the tracks that started with 2003, but the in-house tracks for Madden NFL 2002 made it unique. I do want to bring up a couple points regarding quibbles with the game. The passing system can be adjusted. In Settings, you can change it from "Normal" to "quick", and you don't have to hit "X" on the PS2 to bring up the passing icons; they appear when you snap the ball. Makes a big difference when you get a high snap in the shotgun and the defense happens to be blitzing. Another quibble I have is, in Franchise mode, you can't change your players' jersey numbers (this was an oversight in Madden NFL 2002 also). Not a game-breaker, but it annoys me when I draft or sign a player with a unique number that was legal in the NFL at the time and he gets stuck with something like 88 as a WR or TE or 47 as a CB.

Great review dude! 🤙🏻 This is one that I have been curious about for a long time. The weapon selection wheel looks nice and simple. The bullet time mode looks awesome too. As a cover shooter I think every game is compared to Gears. I think an 8 hour game is a nice change up. Especially with all the lengthy RPG’s and Open world games. I will be looking for a copy of this one. 🍻

Nice 360 grabs. I couldn’t get into LA Noire. It seemed like alot of care was put into the game by Rockstar but it just wasn’t my speed. Watch the Ghostbusters movies first because it will make you appreciate the game even more. It’s one of my favorite games of all time. Such a gem. 🤙🏻 Wow on those Saturn grabs!!😮

The way you opened those wrappers is giving me flashbacks to trying to open MREs. I haven't had Warheads except maybe a couple times about a decade ago when I was 13 but is it really that hard? Also did you end up having Mario Party Wars Episode II?

Update on my video I think I'm about halfway done and it's now too dark to keep recording (makes me wish I was still in Alaska) so I'm gonna start tomorrow morning as soon as I see the sun and see if I can crunch it out by the end of the day tomorrow. It took me 45 minutes just in messed up footage to get a usable take for my 1 minute intro though so I don't know if I'll be able to do that.

Nice review! It's strange that nobody seems to be talking about this game anymore as it seems yo be the perfect premise for a sequel! I have the PS4 version but haven't played it yet. My backlog is brutal lol! But I will get to it as it looks like a fun one! Great video and keep up the good work!

Easily the most underrated gem of the 7th gen, Vanquish is a phenomenal experience from start to finish. I will say, while the PS4 remaster looks nice, this game was a true testament of what the 7th gen hardware could do in the right hands. Great review man, and really glad you got to play through this one!

I bought Vanquish for PC a while ago but haven't played it yet. I'll check it out if I ever figure out how to fix my computer.

Nice Saturn Pickups. I beat RE for the first time a couple years ago. I played the Saturn version because you don't hear much about it. Some great 360 pickups. Great to see the system get some attention.

I really enjoyed sliding all over the place. I haven't beat it yet but it is on my list for this year.

Glad you reviewed another one from the box. I like the length of this too, 8 hours is great in today's gaming space and I like that it's very linear. I'm not much for open worlds. Too bad the bosses repeat though, I'm not a fan of that. Great review, LD.

It would have been awesome to have made it to MGC to not only meet you but see you in action and hosting with TC! Lady Laci approves of the toy pickup, and Terminator related too no less! I don't TRY to go after steelbooks but I do enjoy getting them; they're had to pass up. Kameo is one I'd really like to carve out some time for. Man, this haul keeps going and you're not even to the grail--so freaking many great games. Ah, that Star Trek game; that's one Laci and I mean to try and give the full co-op play to. Yeah, no surprise (sadly) that vendors up-charge at conventions. And I get it; they want to make sure they cover their table fee and they also purposefully make wiggle room for haggling, but still, it's just as easy to hop online for a better deal and have the means to return a game that may not work. Great find on Nights though. And Saturn RE to boot, dude, that's so cool!!
