No Tell Lover - Chicago (keyboard cover)
The late 70s was a really rough period for the band Chicago. Their original guitarist, Terry Kath, died tragically in a gun-related accident, and the band had a hard time bouncing back after vowing to continue without him. "No Tell Lover" is one of the greatest songs from the post-Kath era written by golden-voiced Peter Cetera, trumpeter Lee Loughnane, and drummer Danny Seraphine. It was produced by Phil Ramone and the band. Peter Cetera's bass work on the song was outstanding (so much so that I really didn't even attempt it). This song would be their last hit before they hit a slump and stayed there for more than three years.

Love Shoulda Brought You Home - Toni Braxton (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 1Kปีที่แล้ว
... and now a song for chord lovers. "Love Shoulda Brought You Home" was written by Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Daryl Simmons, and Bo Watson (of the band Midnight Star). It was produced by Babyface, LA Reid and Daryl Simmons. If you think this song sounds like Anita Baker, you aren't too far off. It was inspired by the movie Boomerang and was originally pitched to Anita with her in mind, but she ...
Just Be Good to Pink - mashup (instrumental)
มุมมอง 621ปีที่แล้ว
No, this is not a reference to The Pink Panther, but a reference to Pink Floyd, whose 1987 song "Sorrow" comprises half of this instrumental mashup. The other half is "Just Be Good to Me" by the S.O.S. Band, who had a hit with their song in 1983. Given that these two songs are so similar, is it possible that David Gilmour was "feeling the funk" on his houseboat when he wrote "Sorrow" a few year...
Saturday Love - Cherrelle (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Just a brief jam... a classic song written and produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis that is 36 years old and counting. It features a duet with Alexander O'Neal. This song is always a lot of fun to hear or play. It's also fun to sing as long as you don't run out of breath (good luck). I do not own rights to this composition.

Yah Mo B There - James Ingram & Michael McDonald (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 10K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A song that was popular in the 80s performed by James Ingram and Michael McDonald. One of the best record producers in the world (if not THE best), Quincy Jones always worked with a very talented team of individuals. Rod Temperton and Bruce Swedien are just two of those people involved in the creation of this song. Not just a Quincy Jones production... a Quincy Jones dream team. Oh yeah, anothe...
Who's Holding Donna Now - DeBarge (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 36K3 ปีที่แล้ว
One of DeBarge's biggest hits from the summer of 1985, written by David Foster, Jay Graydon, and Randy Goodrum. Jay Graydon's production was always spot-on, and this single was no exception. I always loved the harmonies during the chorus on this one. The Transformers Theme (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In the mid 1980s, one of the most popular cartoons and toy lines was The Transformers. Out of this came a somewhat melancholy theme with interesting time signature variations. I believe it was written by Ford Kinder and Anne Bryant who composed other themes for Hasbro as well. And I have to say that Orson Welles being cast as Unicron for the 1986 movie was truly epic. What a way to bookend his ...
The Finest - S.O.S. Band (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
One of the late hits for the S.O.S. Band in 1986. It was written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, two dudes who started out working for Prince but went on to write and produce many hit songs for Janet Jackson, The Human League, and Boyz II Men among others. They also popularized the sound of the Roland TR-808 drum machine. What would have happened if Prince didn't fire Jimmy Jam and T...

Separate Ways - Journey (keyboard cover)

In early 1983, Journey released this classic rocker. Sometimes when you play it, you can't help but think of the video the group shot for the single and you have to laugh. Admit it! Run to You - Whitney Houston (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 11K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Surprise, because this one is from the 90s! A song performed by Whitney Houston from The Bodyguard soundtrack. It was written by Jud Friedman and Alan Rich. In the studio, Whitney worked hard and would often throw in improvisations that would astound producers and force them to examine what may have been scripted for the arrangement (many times, producers would have to throw away their own voca...
Hard Habit to Break - Chicago (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 18K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In late summer/early fall 1984, this song was hitting its stride in popularity. It was also my introduction to Bill Champlin's soulful voice - paired with the distinctive voice of Peter Cetera: an inconceivably powerful combination. Unfortunately, Bill Champlin was not nominated for his perfect, incomparable wails toward the end of the song, though the song was nominated for Best Vocal Arrangem...
Everlasting Love - Howard Jones (keyboard cover)
มุมมอง 2.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This was a catchy pop hit for Howard Jones in the spring and early summer of 1989. This song was such a big hit (at least here in the states) that his follow-up single, "The Prisoner," did not get the recognition or airplay it so deserved. 1989 may have been the end of the 80s, but it was definitely a great year for music! Ian Stanley, formerly of Tears for Fears, produced this song. There's so...

Al jarreau ❤
MAGIC ❤
Genial parabéns 👏
I love it ❤❤❤❤❤
Right on! Very cool
Wow!!!!!!! What sound for the piano are using??
An acoustic grand piano sound is layered with a DX7 Electric Piano on the GEM Promega 3. Via MIDI, a Rhodes sound is triggered on the Yamaha Reface CP which adds another layer. The lead voicing is a "Rock With You" (Michael Jackson) sound that I programmed on the Yamaha Reface DX.
❤❤❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Great Sound Man 🎸
