  • A dreamy song from a truly magical lady - Olivia Newton-John. John Farrar wrote some fantastic songs for her, and this one featured a duet with Cliff Richard.

    This is flawless.
Great use of the multi-voice channels.
Was this done with a click track?

Thank you! Good question. This was one song I did without a click track. About half of the other songs I did with a click track, especially multitrack performances like "Yah Mo B There."

What a great cover! The opening and closing pad on the original haunted me ever since it came out. It just didn't sound like a regular synth. I just found out from the guy who did it (Michael Boddicker) that he used a Roland VC-330 run through a Roland Space Echo and some other filters.

Thank you so much for sharing your interesting comment! Yes, that sound definitely had an eerie, dreamlike quality to it. I often say that the recording technology that we have today is truly awesome, but the engineers, producers, and musicians of the 60s, 70s, and 80s were the real pioneers.
