Yep - answered a few times but that's okay. Using an extension cord from the RV hookup about 50 yards away. In other videos we use generators. Solar does not work for this size AC unit. I own many inflatables and have camped over 300 days with them. Never had a single problem of any kind and have never had to add air. Btw, they are simply inner tubes just like what you have in your bike, so if you get a puncture just seal it. I have bought spare tubes with my first inflatable - Vango Capris 600XL but never used them. @@ttblue86 The Hayling 4 is arguably the best 4 berth tent on the marketplace and my family's favorite. If you can get it with the optional mesh and also pvc interchangeable fronts you are set for summer and winter! I really like Kampa as they rarely change their tent designs. Btw, let me know what you like best about the book as there is a third of it dedicated to inflatable tent camping/glamping!

If you look closely in the video at 2:09 you can see an orange extension cord - that is 15 amps running off the 30amp outlet on the RV hookup.

are you talking about the tent or the AC unit? @@maximsamodurov3282 Less than 1% of tents sold in US are inflatables - over 50% in Europe. Now you know why I started this channel and have written books on the subject. The tents that are sold in America are inferior in over 1 dozen areas. Btw, I own the best REI tents made and from other manufacturers - great for ultralights and backpacking - but terrible for long term family luxury tent camping as I explain in the book. You always want to be concerned about cot, table, chair legs poking through tent bottom. Three things - 1) make sure you have rubber feet, 2) make sure to buy a high end tent - the floor on this tent is 10000HH, and 3) use a tent floor carpet. In over 300 days of camping with air beam tents never had a problem with air or inflation - never had to add any in sweltering heat or super cold. Also, been in 50-60 mile an hour winds (about 100km) and our Outwell Clarkston 6a was amazingly strong. I don't think there is any better tent in the world than the Kampa Brean 3. I own it in polycotton and also I have it in technical cotton (wow!). Each year Kampa (owned by Dometic) changes things on the model like doors and windows so see which one you want (mine both have two doors). Also, are you able to get my new book Camping, Glamping, & Bushcraft 101 from Amazon where you are? I discuss Kampas, Vangos, and Outwells in it. The wet area was never enclosed on the Hayling 4 air. I believe the reason is there was two options on how to enclose it. There is a mesh version and a clear panel version. I happen to own both and use the mesh in the summer (see Your Wife Is Hot Camping) and then use the clear panel version in the fall or when it's cold. I understand and you should be concerned as water conducts electricity - and so does the ground. Make sure to be smart like don't run the electricity when its raining or the ground is wet. what does that mean?

I have bought a lot of tents from two European distributors which are Camping World UK (not USA) and Outdoorxl. They each carry some different lines so pick the tent you like best and then see if they distribute it. The shipping time can be fast if you pay for expedited shipping and now there is a tax (didn't used to be). this is the best way to get these tents as there are no distributors in the US.

David, I own Technical Cotton tents. And have used them in the summer and winter. The breathability and the temperature difference between TC and taffeta (poly) is negligible. It might be f-10 degrees. What is interesting is that tents with TC are usually high end tents which means you can pick up many more features. Like more panels or air venting, more windows/doors with mesh, etc. I will have a video coming out soon showing our Kampa Brean 3 TC with the extended inflatable two massive window canopy. Regarding rain - we've camped about 300 days in inflatable tents that are shown on our channel. No need for rain fly. Never had a single issue with water, leaks, rain getting in. These tents are far superior to most tents sold in America. Snow loading - all the tents shown in our videos are three season. Four season tents - are designed to hold specific amounts of weight such as snow. I have had one of the tents similar to the one in the video be coated with heavy ice and did not have any problems - but these are not designed for heavy loads.

You're a perfect example of getting started in camping and then adding more things or changing your camping into glamping. Thx for watching the channel and please share. Let us know what other things you would like to learn about camping or glamping.

In highschool I had a smaller tent “2 person” - when we went shopping for camping gear we bought a 10 person ozark trail tent for 100$, two chairs with coolers, cot with air matteress, loads of lights and string lights, and a bunch of extras… some people have already joked about us glamping but whatever. Both of us and both of our pets are as happy as can be when we show up to the lake

Yes they are great tents - but extremely hot in the summer. In addition, they don't have real windows, zones, or paneled mesh. Several of the tents in our videos have been tested up to 90 MPH winds. We have been in 50-60 mph winds and the flexible air tubes bend but don't break.

@@intentsglamping A Karsten tent is cooler than anything synthetic. The starting price is around £4,000 with good reason.

@@anthonystuartjones Karsten seems to have some very nice tents, including air tents. I don't own one or have used one. I will have a video out soon regarding a Kampa Air Brean 3 tent in Technical Cotton. What do you know about Karsten tents and do you have any connections? I would love to get one and test it out. 4K is a ton of money for a tent when you do the conversion - that's over $5K and probably before carpet, ground sheet and any other niceties. That's more than the really expensive Zempires. Let me know. Nelson, thanks for you thoughts. The inflatable tents we buy and use from europe can be sealed so that there is no need for a rain fly or any additional covering.

Great question. I'm not an expert in electricity (I am in camping) but from what I can read/research the answer is even better. It appears a 1500 heater is about 5200 BTU and that B&D unit is 10K which is almost double. The AC unit at 14K is a beast. Make sure to watch the video where I use a propane heater if you don't have access to electricity or grid. Also, the video on using a 5K window AC unit is all you need for the tents I use in my videos. Also, remember that you don't need to get house temperatures. 60 degrees in a tent is quite comfortable for winter and 80 degrees in the summer with the humidity pulled out is also quite comfortable. Yes. I stay in shock after buying my first Vango airbeam almost 6 years ago and now owning about six different inflatables that they are still not sold in the US. We are really slow sometimes - hopefully my new Camping - Glamping - Bushcraft 101 book will change that- should be out july/aug 2023.

@@intentsglamping it's a good choice the kampa Brean. I like that tent. I bought outdoor revolution cruiz 4 they don't sell anymore. Awesome 4 man rent. Has a big canopy at the front outside past the living room and side door with canopy bedroom at the back. My American friends always say oooh when I put my camping photos/videos up.

@@niksgee3538 The Kampa Brean 3 Air / TC is simply one of the best tents ever made. I own air tents from Outwell, Vango, Kampa and poled tents from REI. Having said that the older Brean threes like our 3 TC - which is the best material made - has an inflatable canopy with large windows. It's hard to get the canopies on the Kampas anymore. The outdoor revolution look like good tents I just have had any experience with them yet.

Mike, when you say bed set up what specifically are you talking about - the mattress, covers, arrangement, etc?

If I remember correctly the extendable curtain rod came with the tent. There are grommet based latches I believe on both sides of the sleep area to hang clothes. We use foldable hangars as they're real small folded. A curtain rod might seem silly to some people but if your camping for a week or more and you need to hang up clothes - especially if it has been raining - these things are really nice - making it Intents Glamping! Phil, so glad to hear you were prepared as so many out in East Texas have been scrambling with the power out and the temperatures dangerously above 115 heat index. And depending on which generator the older ones have an alkaline battery which should be trickle charged and the new generators have a lithium ion battery which can hold a charge for ten years. @@KevinMphotography Good luck with the solar kit. I used one for seven days and there are all kinds of issues I write about in my new book - Camping - Glamping - Bushcraft 101. Will be out end of June. Remember renewable is not reliable. I have about $3K in my solar setup and it was quite disappointing (could power 12v to 81% in an hour - took four more hours of blazing sun to get to 90%. Let me know how it goes.

Austin, that's a great question. I have never had to deal with any refrigerant with this unit as I don't use it often - just a couple of weeks year camping.
