    This NOT camping but glamping set up has everything - use our ideas from the kitchen layout, restroom (toilet) ready, wet zone with full set ups, living zone with bears everywhere to entertain eight, to sleep zone with full queen mattress and comfy faux fur throw, including rack for wardrobe. Of course this isn't camping, but to show how to truly glamp out a luxury air tent for maximum enjoyment and comfort long family tent glamping trips. During the week more than 30 other campers (and park rangers) stopped by to check this setup out and to share how excited they were about seeing new ways to turn good camping into great glamping. This is how and why those in other countries can camp for 4-6 weeks instead of the American 2 days and one night.

    I love your videos and the idea of inflatable, air beam tents but can't locate any in the US. I checked your web page as you had mentioned that you could assist or that links would be available to source these tents but I must have missed the info. Are inflatable tents readily available in the US and from whom?.. we are planning a multi-week trip very soon and I'd like to explore a purchase. Thanks :-)

      Teck, thx for the compliments! Covid has changed everything about shipping and distribution including what camping companies are surviving. Every once in a while you can get an air tent through Amazon US but they ship from the UK. We buy most of our tents from Camping world UK (NOT USA) and outdoorxl.com. Many people have asked about shipping costs and time and it is constantly changing so make sure to ask the distributors.

    Great tent/gear and great campsite! You sir have inspired me to purchase similar gear and take my family camping. Looking forward to visit Inks Lake in a couple of weeks. Curious, was this trip recent? If so how did you deal with the summer heat?. I saw your other video where you hooked up the portable AC, did you use it this time?. I also live in Texas and June is pretty hot. Many thanks!

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jay, ok that is my favorite comment of the week! And the fact that it inspired you to take your family glamping is exactly why I have spent almost five year and tens of thousands of dollars of my own money buying and testing tents and gear to encourage and inspire guys and gals to take camping to another level to really enjoy the outdoors!
      We've done Inks Lake twice but always for Thanksgiving so we could stay there up to 7-8 days. The last time we went we stayed where there was only water and we took our generator (watch the video on Must Have generator and you will see the lake). We had planned for cold and had electric heaters to run by the generator but never needed them.
      This video with all tricked out is Bonham state park in East Texas. The AC in the tent video is Cooper Lake South Sulphur part.
      Let me know what else you want to see or know about camping to glamping as we do that up to 30 days a year. Next up is Colorado Springs, CO for basic camping for seven days. Please share, like and subscribe!

      Roxi, yes I spent months and years finding the best tents in the world and then buying them and then setting them up to go glamping. Here are my secrets but please don't share with any else! :-) Right now I buy all my air tube tents from Camping world UK (not USA) oroutdoorxl.com. That will be changing as there are some amazing tents coming from some other countries and I'm trying to get them into the USA.
      Which tent do you like the best of all the videos? I will be showcasing an air shelter by Vango pretty soon. You see shots of it in some of the videos.
      Almost everything else we buy from Amazon. I have links to all the exact gear in the description which will save you hundreds of hours and make sure you get the right versions.

      Tupelo, the tent is about 13' by 21' with vestibule (17' long without vestibule). What I am referring to as about 6' is the distance from the sleeping zone to the wet zone or the width of the Living zone. I can't remember exactly as its over 5' by 13 feet for just the center section. I hope that helps.
      You can go to kampa's website and check (it might be in cm). Also, the models change so what might be the footage on this one can be different in the newest or older models. Thx.

      Tupelo, I just go into a web browser and type cm to feet and it does the calculation for me. I was incorrect its about 10 1/2 feet not 13. I own so many tents I can't keep them straight! And when you can add on porches, vestibules and garages (on the REI tents) that changes all the footage. Btw, the Hayling 4 is just one of the finest tents air or pole anywhere in the world and I own tents from many manufacturers. Enjoy!

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amelinkp yes, the new Kampa's have fewer features and function. Kampa was bought be Dometic and I believe they are trying to create a "Toyota and Lexus" type categories of tents. The dometic tents start about $1000 and go way up. The new Brean 3 - our favorite 3 berth tent - no longer has a side door but just a mesh door on the front. The good news is these tents and models have been around for a long time so there will be parts as needed and they won't go out of style for a long time. I like your videos! Good job bringing word of the air beam tents to the US market! Hopefully they will catch on more.
    I do have a couple questions for you. I'm looking at purchasing a zempire when they come to REI in mid November (per an email from Zempire.) I was wondering how hard it is to find large enough campsites to fit the large airbeam tents on. I'm looking at either a 5 berth (11.5'x21') or 6 berth (15'x21'). Do you think the 6 berth would limit me on campsites more than the 5 berth?
    I have camped with a 8x10 tent in a lot of state parks in Texas and national parks in the Midwest so I know some may not have the open space for a large tent, especially if they have a tent pad.

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sloshays, you are welcome. I've been waiting for the Zempire tents to hit the states and for them to get us one to test. I believe it will just be there EVO line for now at REI.
      So far - and knock on wood - we have never had a problem with sites yet. More and more state parks are moving to "tent pads". The tent in this video is our medium size where there are other videos where we have tents that are 13' X 26' - six person Outwell and Vango tents.
      What I suggest is to call the park and ask them. They should know their sites and even the size of their pads. Also, there was one time where we were going to split the tent over the edge of the pad by having the sleeping zone on the pad and the wet zone on the ground.
      Please share, subscribe and ask more great question. Let us know if you get a zempire. Thx

    • @sloshays
      @sloshays 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@intentsglamping thanks for the reply. I was wondering if you could just put the "porch" over the edge, sounds like you can in certain situations! On the Zempire Evo, I think the floor area is 17 feet long, so I would think I would need at least that length to peg it out properly. The 6 man vs 5 man shouldn't make much difference, I would think, if most tent pads are square.

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sloshays depending on the air tent, most have detachable "wet zone" sections for the foot print (ground sheet) so that is the part I recommend splitting the tent over the end of the pad. If you notice in this video you can see the tent pad in front of the tent. Also, if worse comes to worse you can always pitch over the gravel/asphalt where you park the car. Most Texas state parks have room for two cars. good luck.

    Awesome setup! I saw another video where you placed an AC unit inside a tent like that at a powered site. How does this style of tent fare is hot humid weather with no AC? Do the solid windows create a greenhouse effect or is there enough airflow to cool things off by bedtime? Our last camping experience with our Browning Big Horn was challenging because the sun beat on the tent all day and it was still hot by the time we went to bed. I plan to experiment with solar blankets next time, but your AC unit in a tent video has me thinking seriously about these Hayling tents. I guess the challenge is just making sure to get a site with a power hookup. Cheers.

      s3trio - great question. And thanks for the comps on the AC in a Tent Your Wife Is Hot video! It's close to 400,000 views!
      This tent is as well ventilated as any of the Air tents coming out of Europe at this point. The UK manufacturers are adding more and more "sealable mesh" and there are some new tents coming out later this fall that will have even more ventilation.
      This tent on this video has the mesh vestibule up front, has a two panel mesh door in the center and then a full three panel mesh door on the side . In addition, there is a mesh panel just above the center door that you can't seal off and there are mesh panels in the back.
      Other than between the swimming holidays - Memorial to Labor Day in Texas - this tent is awesome. It has curtains inside (and we added curtains in the wet area) to help block out the sun.
      In the summer when we go glamping/camping and need ac we take the generator in this video - th-cam.com/video/g77h0qYqW6Q/w-d-xo.html
      That generator will power up everything - AC, heaters, ceramic burners, etc. for weeks on a few propane tanks.
      Another thing, we use the Ryobi big cannon hybrid fan and the small Ryobi's lithium battery fans If you place a fan right next to the mesh but aimed to the outside, it will pull the air through the tent and make it 10-20 degrees cooler.
      Also, You can buy a reflective inexpensive tarp and put it on top of your tent, like a rain fly, but don't let it touch the tent and it can really keep the heat out.
      Hope those ideas/hacks work. Please share, like and ask more great questions.

      Melinda, I have looked into power stations but not ones that are charged by solar. I did just purchase the Ryobi Power Station (brand new for 2021) which holds about 1800 watts and peak at about 3000 and based on their 40V platform. I have tested that unit running a small ac and will have something on video in a month or two (I'm way behind because of Covid). With the little research I did I found that the panels are quite expensive and they take for ever to charge anything up. I know when we go glamping/camping I will take the power station and charge the batteries up while driving to sites or in to towns for things.
