      @@niksgee3538 The Kampa Brean 3 Air / TC is simply one of the best tents ever made. I own air tents from Outwell, Vango, Kampa and poled tents from REI. Having said that the older Brean threes like our 3 TC - which is the best material made - has an inflatable canopy with large windows. It's hard to get the canopies on the Kampas anymore. The outdoor revolution look like good tents I just have had any experience with them yet.

    I’m trying to get a 8man out of Europe. I have. I idea why we can’t get the larger ones here in the US. Maybe you have an idea ?

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe, why we don't have/see/buy a lot of inflatable tents in the states.
      First the Europeans have pretty much locked up the technology and have been improving it for over a decade
      Second, Americans average camping two days and one night so they won't spend $500+ on up to invest in a high quality 6000 HH tent with windows and zones. We are just the opposite where we will camp for 7-9 days and when I take the whole family we go glamping to make it really great.
      Third, I believe there is a threshold for the cost of an inflatable large tent because instead of using cheap poles and cheap materials you need a certain level of quality for structure. I hope we don't see cheap inflatables in the future. Thx

      Michael, it sounds like it would and I would recommend using an electric pump. Make sure to get the electric pump that comes with who made the tent as there are no standards and the adapter plugs that fit our Vango don't fit our Kampa or Outwells.

    Do they contain heat or vent out well?

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      TexCyn - great question. The air tube/inflatable tents in almost all our videos have mesh panels/doors/windows etc that can be close or sealed up. Make sure to look for venting AND the flow. We have a large REI tent kingdome 6 that has almost all front end mesh but doesn't air flow well. When it is hot we use a large Ryobi fan on a lithium ion battery or watch the video Your Wife Is Hot where I actually use a portable AC/Heater unit - kept it 68 degrees for six days. These tents are awesome when it is cold because you can seal them up and use a heater or not. Thx

    • @intentsglamping

      This model - and they change them a little each year- does really well in the heat because it has mesh panel side, mesh above side window and mesh in the back. And a small mesh opening above door. Every mesh area can be closed except for the one above door - you always want a little air flow - watch my video Your Wife Is Hot where I use an AC to cool it.

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tony, yes that would be smart. So far, with over 60 glamping days - multiple trips - using only air tents we have never even had to add air. If there is a puncture, you can easily find it - soapy water or take the tube through a bucket of water and patch it just like a puncture on a bicycle tube. The high end tents come with a patch kit but never had to use one. In addition, the tents I show you can only manually pump in about 9PSI - full inflation is 7.5 PSI - however, the tubes are tested to handle 22PSI which is crazy strong. The air tubes coming from the high end manufacturers are beyond industrial strength. I am sure that some tent companies in the future will start using cheap tubes just like so many use cheap metal poles today. Thx for your comments - please share, subscribe and let us know what else you want to know/learn about.

It's a 2020 model which I feel is better than the 2021 and 2022 where they replaced the side door with a window and took out the ventilation above the window on the left. Enjoy.

    Amazing video.. do you recommend for hot tropical areas ?

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick, that's a great question. If you mean hot tropical where it rains a lot that really depends. The air tube tents coming out of the UK that I show on my channels don't have a lot of mesh like my big REI"s do that are almost 40% mesh. At the same time, I cannot AC cool/heat American tents because of the mesh (see all my other videos). However if it rains a lot you have to shroud the American tents in the rain fly so if feels cocooned. Also, where it rains a lot, most American tents under a few hundred dollars are not actually rain proof, but water resistant (like most Coleman tents). Water resistance is measured by Hydrostatic Head (HH) and most coleman tents are below 750 (water resistant), Most REIs are between 1000-1500 (water proof). This particular Kampa is 6000HH. This tent can be in continuous rain for weeks and no problems. If you have a generator or electricity and can run a small AC (5K Btu) then the air tents on my channel are superior. One last thing, there are some new air tube tents coming out with a lot of closable mesh and should have some on my channel later this year. Also, make sure to get "no see um" mesh as that is the only mesh that keeps out the real small nasty bugs.

      Regarding rain - we've camped about 300 days in inflatable tents that are shown on our channel. No need for rain fly. Never had a single issue with water, leaks, rain getting in. These tents are far superior to most tents sold in America. Snow loading - all the tents shown in our videos are three season. Four season tents - are designed to hold specific amounts of weight such as snow. I have had one of the tents similar to the one in the video be coated with heavy ice and did not have any problems - but these are not designed for heavy loads.

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian, I have in other videos but the information - pricing, features, add-ons, packages change even during the year that the video content would go stale and then people get upset about that. What I can tell you is the range. This Kampa Air Brean 3 is about $500 on up and is a steal. You can add on extended canopy (poled up to 2019 then air till 2020 versions - see what I mean) and carpet and footprint. This Kampa also comes in poled version - a couple hundred cheaper - and a technical cotton a few hundred more.
      The Kampa brean air 3 is really the starting point for high quality inflatable tents. I'm seeing new manufactures using cheaper and cheaper materials and it is bothersome. There is so much cheap camping gear that people buy, use, it breaks and then people don't enjoy camping or they stop camping. Thx for commenting and let us know what else we can share with you.

      Anne, if you see a leak, perfect then you can patch it :-) Air tubes - if there is ever a leak are quite simple and easy to repair like a puncture in a bicycle tire.
      Ever seen a bent or broken tent pole in the rain or not? Almost impossible to repair even with a "sleeve". We have been camping dozens of times 20-30 days a year for five years with five different types of air/inflatable tents and never had a problem. Air tube tents are now outselling all metal pole tents in Europe.

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Carrie, I really like your question. No I'm not a paid spokesperson. I pay out of my own pocket for every tent and piece of equipment you see in my videos to date. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on tents and gear - buying, testing, breaking, wearing out, etc. I grew up without a lot of money but my brothers and myself all made Eagle Scout rank and we loved camping. I do this - and it takes a ton of time away from the three companies I run - as a hobby to teach others about the best tents and gear in the world. I am trying to guide my son through Scouts and teaching him about the outdoors and stewardship of the environment - and getting away from tech.
      Regarding the price of the tents - Camping gear is one area where you really get what you pay for. I'm a big fan of REI tents and gear for certain types of camping. However, for tent glamping the tents coming out of the UK are far superior with features, functions, quality, windows, zones, materials than anything that is sold in the States and it's not even close. That is why I formed this company, do these videos and share with others. If price is an issue this tent and several I show can be purchased in the classic metal pole form and that is about 40% (for now) less than air tube based tents. Hope that helps.

    Idk I'd be more than willing to do a side by side setup comparison with almost any quality eureka or Cabela's cabin tent setup. With that many ropes someone is sure to get cought up in them in the middle of the night. And then after speaking poorly of shock corded poles you still had to use them. Color me dubious.

    • @intentsglamping
      @intentsglamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chris, totally understand. And yes, guy lines, storm bands, and rope tie downs are all optional. Don't need to use all or any. Most tents - pole to air can stand structurally with no guy lines. However, the more lines and the type (e.g. storm bands) allow greater stability and resistance in bad storms. I will have a video out later this year where we are in 50+ MPH winds and how our largest air tent handled it so well. One other point is that the higher quality tents are using glow in the dark materials for their tie lines which make visibility really easy at night - the old and cheaper tents don't. Also, our business is not selling camping/glamping things - our business is education, information and resources about turning camping into glamping. Regarding prices, I did that on the video regarding the Kampa Air Brean 3 all set up. The problem with putting prices in a video is they change. That video is a tent from 2019 and although the tent is almost the same as 2021 the prices, features, add-on's have all changed. We are trying to create videos that last for years and years.
      The most accurate pricing we have (because the links to the tent manufactures goes through third parties) is the links in the description below the videos for things in the videos that are linked to Amazon. Those prices are changed electronically.
      The good news is for the first time ever a major air/inflatable tent manufacturer has just licensed a distributor for the US. We will have videos coming soon about this line of tents as it is one of the best lines from anywhere in the world. Hint these tents aren't coming out of the UK. Thx for your comments. Maybe a tiny bit quicker as you don't have to feed the poles through the canvas, but how much time does that save overall? One minute? Who cares about one minute saved when you're on holiday? Plus you need to carry the pump around.

      CT, I understand. I didn't really get it until I bought our first air tent about five years ago. Since then I've bought about five more (and we also buy regular pole tents for backpacking and ultralights for kayaking.)
      This Kampa Brean 3 is a simple tent to put up, and it does come in a "poled" version. But if you watch our video "Tent Mahal" which is about 13' by 26' and comes in two parts with three zones and eleven (yes 11) windows that would take two people 1-2 hours in a pole version, when we can pitch it in 15 minutes (even faster with the electric pump). We own large REI poled tens like the Kingdome 6.
      One last thing - the manufacturers talk about having to send new parts (poles, shock cords, etc) out every day and rarely send anything out for tube tents. That is another reason over 50% of tents in Europe are now "air tubes" and that number is climbing as economies of production are driving down costs.

      Mark, you got it. The air tube/inflatable tents now being made are awesome. Please let me know any questions you have or what other videos you want to know about. Thx

    My pole style tent goes up quicker without needing everything staked out to the ground.
    A pole end in each corner, and eight plastic clips to the poles, (30 seconds maybe), and it is done.

      Danny, yes without ground sheet, without staking, without guying a tent, any tent can go up really really fast. That was not the point of the video.
      The point I am trying to get across is one person (not a man) but a lady or even a kid can put up this amazing tent - two zones, inner tent, three windows, two doors, no need for rain fly, and have i up in about five minutes. I have been on many campouts where the family or lady in the site next to use couldn't get their poled tent up after struggling for an hour and I had to come over and help them. People see the tents we use - and this is the smallest one - and their first question is how many hours does it take to pitch? Btw, just so you know our family uses poled tents too for ultralight backpacking to REI kingdome packing to the back woods. But for glamping with family and friends this is the best.
      One last point - they make this tent and most others in a poled version - have your choice.

      I bought the poles version and had to return it as It took about 2 hours to put up on my own. If your on your own, I'd go for the air version.

    Gazelle tent much easier.

      Brian, as far as an "instant pop up" camping tent I understand your comparison. From a "speed to pitch" probably comparable however, in the states where we camp you have to put up the rain fly as that is a must in Texas (and surrounding states) with passing rogue showers. The Hydrostatic head of Gazelles is pretty good at 2000MM, however the flooring at 3000 is a weak. Most high end tents are about 10,000. I like the fact that Gazelles even tells you what their HH is and their denier at 240 - most tents under $1K won't discuss.
      The tent in this video has a hydrostatic head of 6000 - which means made for torrential rainstorms lasting days.
      To pass the standards of "InTents Glamping" the Gazelle line doesn't offer clear windows, only one zone, requires rain fly and some of the models have detachable floors (not great for heavy rain and the reason given is "easy to clean the floor or not use if you want). I camp and glamp up to 30 days a year and would never consider sleeping in a tent on the direct ground and in addition always use as groundsheet/floorprint for fast cleaning and other reasons. Also, the Gazelle line of tents is not tested to 80-90 MPH winds.
      Our experience so far with "quick pitch tents" (cannot confirm with Gazelle only with Coleman and others) is they use cheaper and lighter parts. So it goes up quick and comes down just as quick in storms. Maybe Gazelle's will send us one to review so we can do an A to A comparison to other camping tents. Thx for your comments.

      Bernhard - translating into english this is what I got - Always looks eazy ... but pumping is also exhausting! The pumping even with manual pump takes between 15-25 pumps and then done. With the electric pump see that video pitching your tent while holding beer - shows it takes no effort. In glamping over 60 days about `15 campouts I have never had to add air or pump again.

    Lot of tripping over lines

      Hey man, don't tell anyone this isn't my day job. Just trying to show people in the states the great tents coming from Europe and how they can camp/glamp differently. I'm not a spokesperson and I don't get paid to show/sell these tents. Just trying to make outdoor fun better for families.

      I typically change out the ropes to reflective. Also, depending on weather I don't always use the tie downs.

      Regarding tripping over lines - we have kids playing all around our tents and I think because there are numerous lines for stability and storms the kids know to avoid them. Just the opposite with many of the American tents with thin or narrow guy lines out of each corner they are really hard to see. Watch some of my night videos and you will see how the guy lines are "glow in the dark" - in addition, the storm "bands" - thick braids of strands" are quite obvious to see.
      We have been in 50MPH winds and every tent in the whole camping loop had to be packed up and the campers left except for us.
