Hello, i need some advice please. In my generic industrial zone, i keep getting buildings abandoned for either "no buyers" or "no resource". I have plenty of resources from oil, forest etc zones available and a decent amount of commercial zones. Many thanks.
@@eamonnmcgarvey How is the traffic for your city? It may be that vehicles are having trouble leaving the city to export or transporting resources to your industry. Some of the unique factory buildings require materials that can only be produced by buildings in your Industries DLC industry areas and not imported. You may need to level up your industrial area and make sure you have the right buildings in place. Do you have many outside connections to the city? If you're relying only on highway you might want to try and add airports, ships, and/or train connections as well if they are available
@@jester.Gaming Many thanks for the quick response. It will be road traffic access, as I have ship, plane, train and highway outside connections. most of the incoming plains, trains and ships are less than 10% full of imported good, and my exports are averaging about 70%. I will study and fix (hopefully). Thanks again.

I cannot build any zones on any roads.
There was an update relatively recently where you could toggle zoning on the roads (one side or the other and completely disable). Check that you haven't accidentally turned this on ...it should be somewhere near the bottom left of your screen when you have the road tool selected.
@ thank you. I was accidentally clicked “turn off” the zoning when built the road.

I can’t find landscaping button
Hey Adrian, landscaping is unlocked at the third milestone (Tiny Town)
Question during your progression in campus area what kind of buildings are close to your arenas? Are those commercial?
Hey StansSpot, good question! Those buildings don't exist anymore in the current version of the game ... they look like specialized commercial buildings (tourism and leisure) from the After Dark DLC.
Why it doesn't work in my city
It should! Your road segments might be too close together to connect
I have a question with all the upgrades to the city in different locations, did you continue to add high power cleaner energy? And water filtration system?
I definitely did! We eventually went with nuclear power and I added Eco Water Treatment Plants with the Algae-based Water Filtering policy from Sunset Harbour DLC. The city is pretty much as clean as it can be without any of the monuments.
I just want to say that my dad and I enjoy your videos and we are excited for any new content. I have built a similar city on my PS5 version starting with episode 1 and I am learning so much 😊. Thank you…

If you have huge traffic going one way, just remove the traffic light. Usually it jamms because of them, without mods its simple fix, that usually work.
This is great advice! I did that off camera at some point and it helped clear up traffic at the intersections right after the highway as it enters the city.
Thanks buddy :)

You're welcome, congrats on the trophy!
14:37 what about making (some of those) red interchanges roundabouts? Would take make traffic flow better, and make them less red? I wonder if that could get average traffic flow up too
Hey ZZubZZero! The red can be a little bit deceiving... it means that there is heavy traffic but not necessarily bad flow of traffic. As long as traffic isn't backing up and causing issues then the red areas can be ignored for the most part!
Night time domination needs to be a standalone mode, or night time tdm! 💯
This is probably the best explanation of road hierarchy I’ve seen, especially the parts about what roads can connect to what and how to remove stoplights. This helped my city a lot!
Wow I implemented most of what you said and the main thing I've noticed is in my save the demand for commercial and residential is equal and office zone is low, even though I have 2 small industrial areas, agriculture and general. My new neighbourhood is built like this; 3 long sections with 2 arterials, blocks on the side sections go only length-wise, with pedestrian paths in between the backs of the buildinds, surrounded by an alley of trees, the path is also accesible 2 or 3 times from the side of the blocks as well. Might I mention I've made all the 2 lane roads one way except for the middle sections one, so could that pose a problem for schools? it's a tiny walkable distance to each one but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if kids walked half-way, got bored, pulled a car out of their pocket and had to drive allllllll the way around the whole place just to get back home. As for services stationed in that neighbourhood, I see it as a good thing that they must go around the entire city, sort of as a patrol, no?
dude, its really helpful. thanks

Ubisoft are so bad to make fun puzzle
It's certainly not very intuitive, I had to use a guide myself
I've noticed, that you don't use buses, just skipped to metro. Why no buses? They are much cheaper and demand no extra infrastructure. Also, your demand for industrial zone is zero. Do your manually added industrial buildings go into count? Do they need workers just like ordinary "yellow zone" industries in a "forest specialization" district?
I usually start with metro and then add busses afterwards ... I forget if I showed it in this video but they should be there! The reason I put the metro first is I like to use the buses to bring people to the metro station. Having the station in place first allows me to put bus stops at the correct locations. The public transportation network is similar to road hierarchy - you can use the lower capacity transport services (on local roads) to bring people to the higher capacity transport services (on collector roads). Great question! I had to do a little research and apparently the orange bar at the bottom is affected by number of employees in your industry or office buildings so any of the Industries DLC buildings you place should decrease demand once you put them in because they have job positions for your citizens.
Welcome back! After watching the first version of the video I had the same thought - I gotta make it more nice looking, so I was pleasantly surprised that you've uploaded an upgrade video, which motivated me even more! I am so glad that themed industry buildings arent causing so much traffic like the simple yellow zoning ones! Quick question - no slaughterhouse due to ethical issues? :D
The game is soooo hard! I been trying to figure it out for the past week and this game is not complex its very hard
It definitely takes a little while to get used to ... I went through many cities when I first started. Don't feel bad about starting a new city, keep learning as you go and apply your knowledge! You could also make multiple saves of the same city and go back to an old one if things aren't working out. This is usually what I do when I am planning an episode out - I have a save for each episode and can easily go back to a previous save if things aren't working out. You can also start with unlimited money until you get a feel for how the mechanics work but I would keep unlocks as they are. Welcome to Cities: Skylines!
Greetings from Russia. Awesome videos, so calm and meditating. Thank you.
Thank you HappyDefault, I'm glad you're enjoying them. Welcome to the channel!
I don’t know why my industrial zones arnt working
@@RIFT.CO1907 do you have any demand for it (orange bar at the bottom)? If you have an educated population they may want higher education jobs (offices) unless you turn in the Industry 4.0 policy which will enable more of those job types for your industry. You may also experience a lull in industry demand soon after turning on the education boost policy as your citizens will be going to school instead of working ... I hope this helps!
@@jester.Gaming thank you and yeah I did have the education boost on , that could be the cause , I was placing industry zones but I’m not sure if I have to make it a district as well? I’m a new player so yeah haha
@@jester.Gaming and no I had no orange bar and no commercial bar , although the housing was requesting more work so I put more commercial down and it sorted the problem but I wanted to place industry too but it was never built even after building residential zones after and not having much educational buildings
@@RIFT.CO1907 No problem at all, welcome to Cities: Skylines! A district is used for applying specific policies or zoning specializations to an area. I apply most of my policies to the entire city rather than individual districts and most of the zoning specializations are tied to DLCs that you might not have if you're just staring out and not very important early on in the game. If you have green bar residential demand you should focus on that and once people move into the city they will start looking for jobs and you will get demand for industry. Also, if you're playing with everything unlocked at the start it might be a little more difficult to start your city believe it or not. The game was designed to unlock things gradually to subtly introduce you to different mechanics. With everything all at once it's a bit overwhelming and you might be using late game items early on and it might not work.
@@jester.Gaming okay , thank you, glad to be playing it , subscribed too! 😀
this tutorial sucks for begineers, we dont even get all these options to build those treatment centers.
The medical clinic is unlocked fairly early at the second milestone. However, knowing why your citizens are getting sick as described in the video should help you prevent it from happening before you get your medical services unlocked.
If you do it at night and they dont spawn its a bug so you need to make a new character and level up do story missions again and all hunters to get all keys
I was fortunate enough to never run into this problem ... That sounds terrible. I've read that there are bugs plaguing the PC version of the game. I hope you managed to get your masks!
I was looking for such advice on how to make an efficient industry district with as minimal traffic jams as possible. Thank you so much!!!
You are welcome ValSer9, good luck with your city!
I have a problem in my little town that even though I have enough electricity and my power lines are connected it’s still saying the buildings need electricity, I have no idea what to do.
Hi JAYMO! There are a couple things I can think of ... It could be that not all sections of your city are properly connected. For example if you have an industrial area off to the side it might not be close enough to connect to the buildings of the main city. You may have to connect different areas of your city with powerlines. I have this every once and a while when I am expanding a city. Are you using solar power? If you are and also using the day-night cycle your power production will be reduced at night. How is the traffic in your city? If you're using coal or oil power plants they may not be getting deliveries of resources. You can check their reserves in the building info view. If this is the problem you can improve your traffic flow, increase outside connections (add rail or boat), or add a local industry to provide the needed raw resources. I hope this helps!
Is there a mod that makes a new policy / that causes highrise ban to mimic making a building historical at level 2/4? I like having small districts with high-rise bans, making them historical, and un-banning high-rises. Unfortunately that is quite a tedious way to make medium-high density zones, as you pointed out.
Hey klobi, unfortunately I don't play with mods so there is nothing that I am aware of
I just got rid of all commercial zones in my city. No downside so far. Big upside being no more commercial zones crying about not enough resources. Stupid that you cant import them for the industry zones.
That's an interesting approach! They were probably complaining because your industry zone wasn't big enough enough support the number of commercial buildings you had. Is your industry now complaining about not enough buyers for products?
@@jester.Gaming thats the trick: get rid of industry too! ive got the raw material industries but the rest ive mostly done away with. no complaints since the zoned industries cover the industry bar technically and so do offices weirdly. commercial demand is high but no drawbacks from it. ive got little bits of commercial here and there but if they go under or abandoned i rezone it for offices.
Thank you 🎉
You're welcome!
