I ran into the train problem recently when playing a train scenario. If I had to guess, I'd say that trains pile up outside the city when entering the void. They probably stop there before dissapearing, and it creates the phantom traffic jam effect. But idk. It's been a long time since this episode. I hope you're well. These videos are wonderful.
You should only have one freight station for each outside rail connection. So if your rail goes from one end of the map to the other, you should use a maximum of two freight stations that connect to the outside lines. However, you can set up a local line that isn't connected to the external line. This will fix empty trains and train backups.
One day rockstar ... one day. I would love to get back to making videos. I've played a little bit of CS2 but optimization issues among other things that I've read about are making it difficult for me to want to devote too much time into the game. I want to let CO release a few additional patches before I do too much. Ideally a build series and a tutorial series. I will still continue with CS1 content as well.
@@jester.Gaming I think this is the right approach. CO definitely has work to do on CS2, IMO. However, this is the company that never fixed the traffic AI in CS1, never fixed the Ultimate Recycling Plant, never fixed the University CCP, and let people use a district style on PC like they could on console, etc. That company has a lot of work ahead of it.
Thanks for checking out the video lagenny3000, I thought about that as well! I didn't want to bring a cable car across the campground and there isn't much at the bottom of the slope on the other side. A bus might work though!
I was thinking you could extend Meadow Meadows up to the observatory and use the hunting cabins to stand in for living quarters for the observatory staff and maybe the city park info booth as an office building. Biffa has covered base game maps having a train spawning bug at the boundary of the 81 tiles as I play unmodded I didn't pay enough attention to be able to say if that was the cause of your train problem.
Thanks Warren, that's good advice! I was thinking about doing that but I didn't want to put campsites ... the cabins might be a better option though! I'm also seeing huge increases in truck traffic at the oil and ore industries... to the point where I am needing to turn parts of it off to control the traffic. I'm going to try a reset on those as well and see how that goes. I might need to reconfigure them if it doesn't work!
hey Wyllian! Thanks for checking in. I'm still on the fence about CS2 to be honest. I know they've made improvements but I don't think it's quite in the state it should be. I'm still following it online and hoping to make a series one day!

hey gigabyte9584, the best advice I can give is to zone slowly, bit by bit rather than large sections at a time. The life cycle of a citizen usually starts when they move into the city and if you have a lot move in at the same time you'll end up having a lot die at the same time = death wave. Having good traffic flow also helps a lot for hearses to be able to go through the city!
@@jester.Gaming 0:06 Also about the trains, what I did was, I put an extra pair of one way rails on each side of the main track going opposite directions to manage traffic a bit better. Secondly, I expanded the train system by adding a new train track to travel in different parts of my city, and putting a couple train stations in those areas. Also, I think a quicker way to do it is that if you have the high-tech housing policy on and if you turn it off, everyone will start having problems with land value, and after a while, a lot of buildings will start to go abandoned Sorry for the long text, btw
@@gigabyte9584one-ways can control the train traffic, but the issue here was that he "crossed the streams". 👻 Lol. What I mean is, he mixed his local and regional lines. The regional lines can only handle so much and if you add stations it will general a massive amount of trains. The general rule is, one station per connection. So if your rail goes from one end of the city to the other, then you can have two. If you have one north, south, east, then you can have three. Having said that, you can set up "transfer points" where the regional line is next to a local freight station that transports around the city. However, these two lines should never cross or you'll get the congestion you see here. The game doesn't tell you this which is a shame, but I had the same issue. Now, if you do use the one-way method, then technically you could double it... But be careful, because using one way stations means more traffic because you're limiting what the freight station can do and again, you'll have more traffic than necessary on both roads and rail. Try to keep it to your regional connections.

The best to make the observatory is shutting down the electricity in one part of the city and wait. The recover for that is really fast.
That's a good idea! There are many ways to upset your citizens haha :D
