Hi Nadine. I fell in love with opera when I was in my early 20s. I studied for a few years always through a private teacher, and the last time I had classes was in the 1990s. I am now returning to the great love of my life, singing opera, and I hope that you can help me to understand a few things. One of them is my own range, which I was always given the option between Lyrical soprano to mezzo and contralto. Some songs I'd probably sing as a contralto, as Purcell's When I am Laid in Earth, due to the very high key on the second and final part of the aria. I have to tell you my age. I am now 69 almost 70. However, this is my dream which I would like to fulfill as it makes me extremely happy and in tune with my most spiritual awareness of myself.
