    I think that Beavers Bend is the best state park in Oklahoma, with Robbers Cave a very close second. For a completely different Oklahoma, go to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in SW Oklahoma, just north of Wichita Falls, TX. I'm looking forward to next time. This area of Oklahoma looks really good. It looks a lot like western part of central Arkansas. I spent a lot of time as a child in the area around Grand Lake near Grove which is northeast of this region. Once you get 10 miles beyond Grand Lake that area looks a good bit more like the rest of Oklahoma. I understand why people would like the Broken Arrow region now.

    Went for our first time. Loved it and will return. Made the mistake of using a ticket agent that was affiliated with a time share. Didn’t have a clue about that until we arrived and went to get our vouchers. Started very well then the guy started to try to get us to a time share presentation. I kept saying no no no. He tried to “comp” some of our tickets in order to get us to go. It got uncomfortable but I held up. Won’t do that again without knowing the ulterior motives. Beware but go to Branson!

      Ouch!...unfortunately that's sometimes a problem in Branson like a lot of vacation areas. Believe it or not, it's much better than it used to be. It's really pretty easy just to call the theaters directly and make reservations. For most shows that don't sell out, you can just go to Branson 2 for 1 tickets, the purple building, and get half price vouchers and no time share! You have to do it in person though. Been coming to Branson from Minnesota since 2000. Most years in July. Last year was September and now this year we are going first part of October. We have slowly been spreading out to see the attractions away from town. Last year was Dogwood Canyon. A piece of advice for new comers to see shows, leave yourself travel time and try to make your turns right hand off of hwy 76 strip. Left hand turns crossing the busy road can be trying. The maps show the green, red, yellow routes very well, but may not be as straight and direct as they make you think. We take back roads from our timeshare to Hollister and the Landing , it’s a fun drive with many curves, hills and overlooks.

    • @findushere
      @findushere 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These are some great pointers! If I'm actually trying to get somewhere, I just avoid the strip. There are so many choices now compared to the "old days" and the crowds are more spread out with everything not centering around just shows on the strip. You are so right about the routes not being straight though! Hope you have a great October trip! Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Ketchikan looks very ordinary. Attractions being bars and restaurants which you have on board. Why stop there?

    • @findushere
      @findushere 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are certainly a lot of commercial kinds of places there but there are also things like historic creek street, the lumberjack show, the salmon run when in season, and many opportunities for wildlife and scenic daytrips to Misty Fiords National Park nearby. There is also opportunities for locally sourced salmon and other seafood in restaurants there. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Wow! The Princess line went right in there up to the glacier. We were on Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas, and the captain said he decided to turn around before even coming within a glimpse of the glacier because it wasn’t safe. I just read a blog where a person complained that the staff (same cruise line, same ship) knew that the ship wouldn’t go near the glacier because they never do. The person who was complaining said this was false advertising and had a number of complaints about RCL, which resonated with us based on our experience.

    • @findushere
      @findushere 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow that would have been disappointing! I have heard from others that if it was foggy or there was lots of ice they wouldn't go in there but I felt like we got pretty close for such a big ship. It was a perfect day as you can tell so that was a contributing factor. This was in September so there may have been less ice than earlier in the season. Also keep in mind that many of my shots are zoomed in so we're not be as close as it seems but certainly close enough for a nice view. It certainly lived up to my expectations. I've been on several glacier tours on the small boats you see at the ports and that is the way to really see them. They go right up in the ice and very close. Those are great tours. Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment!

Hopefully you can find something helpful if you're interested. Is it your first trip? October is a great time to visit. The weather is getting cooler and the leaves are changing. Yes they are quite plentiful and although this was a good year, there are usually many. My next two videos from the Texas Hill Country are even more so. At one point the bluebonnets are so numerous that it's hard to tell where the bluebonnets stop and the lake starts. Thanks for your support!

    What an interesting walk. I haven't been down to the river walk in over two decades. As I'm not a fan of crowds, I can see I won't be making a return visit during spring break either. Thanks!

      @findushere 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! Spring Break is definitely not the time if you don't like crowds! Fall is usually a much better time. I have seen it then when you could just basically get right on the river boats. It's still a fun place with great places to eat anytime though. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.

    Thanks for the great video tour of this interesting place. I have heard people talk about the river walk, but only saw a handful of photographs. As I watched, I thought that I will probably never vacation there, but that I would love to catch a professional conference hosted in one of the hotels there. It would be a great place to explore between conference sessions.

    Fun fact: the bridge @10:25 is several hundred feet above the creek below. It is the highest bridge in many tens of miles. It also crosses the train tracks used by the Branson Scenic Railroad between two tunnels.

    Thank you!!! I am autistic and new, unknown situations make me nervous. My mom surprised me with this cruise and I was struggling to feel grateful with all the unknowns as I've never cruised before. Last night I watched a few bubbly, talkative travel guide videos that made my head spin. Your video was calm, direct, beautifully shot and informative. You have shown me what to expect and it has really helped me prepare for my trip. I was able to understand the layout, what people wear on cruises, what the towns look like, the train! (which was my only request!) and what to expect from the different dining options (I'm picky about my food wants and needs). Thank you so so so much.

    • @findushere
      @findushere 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're very welcome! It's so nice to hear that what I do is helpful to someone. Your cruise does not have to be stressful. You can find many places on board the ship to just sit back, relax, and take it all in with zero stress. Also the ports are easy to take at your own pace. The White Pass Railway is a great trip. I've taken it many times and keep going back to do it again. There are so many choices of food that I think you'll be able to find plenty of things you'll like that will meet your needs. Thank you again for watching and commenting. I hope you have a great cruise! If you have questions, feel free to reach out.
