Welcome to another delicious adventure in the heart of Waco, Texas! In this video, we take you on a culinary journey to Jake's Texas Tea House located in downtown Waco on Austin Avenue. Join me and my niece, Haley, as we navigate through downtown Waco, highlighting some of the area's must-see spots along the way.
Upon arriving at Jake's Texas Tea House, we find a convenient public parking lot nearby and once inside, we dive into the extensive menu featuring mouth-watering hubcap burgers, blue plate specials, and an array of sandwiches and salads. Don't miss out on their delightful desserts displayed prominently at the front!
As we wait for our orders-cheeseburger sliders for Haley and an avocado burger for me-we take a moment to appreciate the unique decor. The restaurant is themed around automobiles and Texas oil, with booths designed like car seats and vintage rideable toys adorning the space. The nostalgic signs and soda fountain bar add an extra layer of charm.
Post-lunch, we indulge in dessert: strawberry cake for Haley and banana pudding for me. With satisfied appetites, we embark on a leisurely stroll around Austin Avenue. We pass the Alico Building, Dichotomy Coffee, Cameron Trading Company, and the historic Waco Hippodrome, a hub for entertainment and arts.
Our walk takes us past Maria Mezcaleria, a new Mexican restaurant, and Portofino's Italian restaurant before we return to Jake’s and our parked car.
