Testing new camera angles today. Let me know in the comments if you like these new camera angle? I usually just use a GoPro attached to my helmet. But, if you like this type of shot I'll look at introducing more of them. Your input will be much appreciated.
Honda CB500X Review
มุมมอง 9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
With over 2 years of ownership, it's time to review my 2015 Honda CB500x. In 2019 Honda updated the CB500x, improving and altering a few features compared to this original version. This review will be from a used bike perspective. In short, I love this bike! If you're looking for a budget-friendly bike? This model could be for you. Used, you can pick one up at a great price. It's also cheap and...

How do you clean bottle when you are done with the job?
A very comprehensive video, thank you for taking the time to make it. I would like a bigger top box so I have watched your other video with the M7 plate added. I have OEM Honda panniers and top box, so my question is, would the OEM pannier brackets fir on to the Givi arms ( from the other video) thus saving me having to buy the Givi pannier racks? As Im happy to keep the OEM panniers it's just the top box that needs to be bigger. Hope this makes sense to you. Thank you
Why can't they have the same dimension on the skruvs? friking annoying with all the diffrent size's!
I did this lane a couple of weeks ago in my Skoda Yeti, East to West. The rock steps are worse now. Might go back to do it west to east the same as you did, got better tyres since the first trip. Maybe also not in the dark alone at 11pm this time but it was fine... 👀🤣
Lol must be loctite on those skruvs haha!
Just what I needed to view, got to change my brake lever after a drop and wasn’t sure if I would be capable of doing myself, so thanks I will attempt it myself
How is the quality?
I really enjoyed them, they were solid.
Great, thanks!
I reset my tripmeter to 0. When I do about 300 miles, I clean and lube the chain every time. I've been using simple kerosene to clean the chain. It's inexpensive & very effective, recommended by many motorcycle mechanics. Works well to clean my aluminium rims and spokes. I'm using Motul chain lube so far. When that can runs out I'll use Dupont "Chain Saver" wax lubricant. I live in Southern California. I try to avoid riding in the rain, although sometimes I get caught in it. Am considering purchasing one of those spiral brushes. Looks a bit fiddley to get on the chain, though. Thanks for posting this video.
That plastic bin will deffo not rust now!!

How tall are you?
Hi, what brand is that gps holder/bar. Cheers
The bar piece was an eBay find, and the bracket on the bar came with a Givi phone holder
@@andrewstewart106 Cheers, appreciate it👍
Thank you ! 🔥✌️
How did you get that bottle to mist? Mine just squirts.
I found a bucket of warm water helped. Leave the spray bottle in it for around 20-30 mins. The ACF 50 should thin down a little. I made the mistake once of using water straight from the kettle and melted the bottle, never sprayed right after that. I then moved to a gravity fed gun for a compressor.
@@andrewstewart106 I actually bought a separate lot off eBay that came with an ACF-50 spray bottle and that doesn't mist either. 🤷🏻♂
@@gavinbroad1743 I had a couple of the small ACF 50 spray bottles, more of a jet than anything, and created a sloppy mess. I found the most reliable was a small compressor and a gravity fed gun, I used probably 70% less ACF than the spray bottles as it’s much more efficient at misting.
@@andrewstewart106 OK, yes, I have that kit, so that's what I'll have to do. Did you still warm it with the gravity fed gun?
What is the model of your crankcase protector?
This vid doesn’t have a crank case protector. At least not one I installed, all stock from purchase. Covering the rear wheel protecting the shock is the genuine Honda rear hugger. Also in my later vids I installed the Rally Raid bash plate which does offer a bit of protection for the crank case.
So now the LH footpeg is pivoting on the thread of the screw?
Yes, that’s what givi provide for attaching to the passenger foot peg.
how can I get the adapter? 10:23
The exhaust adapter from memory came with the panniers, Dolomiti 36. Maybe give Givi a call and see if it’s a spare part that can be ordered separately.
Thanks a tone for this :) Great find
Greetings As always another fantastic detailed video 🇺🇸🎉🍾🇺🇸 Would you provide me with the link to purchase the bar ends you have on your motorcycle, thank you so much for assisting me. Keep producing more videos.
Where do you got the cellphone bar? I need one like that. link please!
Thanks for the great vid Mate. I recently just bought a 2nd hand 2020 CB500X here in Australia. Previous owner had it kited out with the full Rally Raid Lvl 1 system. It absolutely smooths out the tracks and the road! I haven't done a lot of, off roading yet, but the bit I have done, the bike handles wonderfully. The bike did come with Tubeless "Mitas E-07+ ENDURO TRAIL" Front and rear tires, which definitely help with grip in the rough and the slippery stuff.
Hi there, can you tell me where you got the handlebar mount from, I have searched the Internet but can't find one like that. Thanks Gordon
Great video but it would be better if Honda fitted them as standard
If I was to get it on grips etc, how do you safely remove please?
Nice SKX man, going to tackle this tomorrow morning on my 500X!
Tbh as soon as I saw you approach the cattle grid at an angle my bum tightened up 🥴
Must be honest, that's shity weather for those passes, I'd only do it in summer and dry weather personally, but well done sir, good ride, 👍🏻
Thank you. This ride was in between the 2 lockdowns in 2020. It was the tail end of summer. Checkout the other 2 vids on my Chanel for Hardknott and Wrynose pass. It was 30 degrees and clear blue skies 24 hours later.
That gearbox sounds quite notchy
Thanks for making the video, was looking at the Enduristan Lyndon organizer thats how i got here. Could i ask what the blue adjustable wrench extender pipe was from?, i know any old pipe will do but that looks quite well made for the job?. Cheers Mike
Thank you for your comment. The pipe was cut from a J Hook for garage storage. Similar to this, but I took the spanner to my local DIY store and selected a hook that would be the right diameter for the spanner handle. I know this is now quite old but this is what I shot from the start of the event the night before.. th-cam.com/video/QDWonwb6YPg/w-d-xo.html
Nice one, do you happen to have a GPX file of the whole route? I've started doing some of them as I'm only in Whaley.
i think you should just grab hold the brush to force the bristles in to the chain links instead of stretched and pinch held
unbelievable that a company as innovative as Honda couldn't have added a quick fit/release pannier system incorporated into the side pillion grab bars like Kawasaki did with the Versys, rather than making the user add a load of ugly & bulky scaffolding which most of the time you dont want on the bike
Dude the slurping and wheezing....
Such amazing videos, love your channel. 👍🙂
I can intimately attest to the cold, wet conditions and stunning beauty of the region depicted in your video- having ridden almost exactly the same route on my Dawes Galaxy in 1978 (up and over at Pen Y Pass with a welcome break at ‘Clanberris’ before riding on to Caernarfon). Unfortunately Mount Snowdon was completely hidden. Now, 44 years later, I prefer to sit astride the saddle of my gorgeous 2021 Honda CB 500x (Grand Prix red) and letting it do all the work - half a world away in a state ‘down under’ where the words ‘snow’ and ‘mountain’ refer to unknown concepts. Thank you for the great video.
At last someone is using the right bike for the job.
Great test. My original ACF50 spray head broke and I have tried a few kitchen spray bottles as a replacement but none have had the power to lift the heavy liquid. I will be getting one of these now.
The givi products seem good quality, great video 👍
just ordered the mist bottle, for my motorcycle, But! will get a compressor, that comes with several appliances Like spray gun and tyre pump and air hose for my staple gun. But! for now! awesome thanks for a great info video
am ordering one, awesome video, thanks for a great breakdown
Have you moved on to a different bike now or still on this one?
I don’t currently have a bike.
what is the cellphone case code part from givi ?? Thanks
Hi great video, can you tell me if the screen and mirrors were coated? If so why, if not why not?
I think I may have given the screen and mirrors a once over with a cloth. Shouldn’t need to coat them or other plastic areas, ACF if for preventing corrosion but I also found it provided a nice finish on the non vital areas once cleaned.
@@andrewstewart106 thanks appreciate you responding
Thanks, that was an informative video. May I ask that should the bike have bar risers, would the longer screws of the kit allow for the installation of the S901A? Thanks.
After this video I added some universal bar risers. Yes it can fit. The riser kit came with multiple length bolts, I honestly can’t fully remember but I may have had to order 2 slightly longer bolts. I think with a little rise it was fine. But with all the universal plates in, like I had, I had to source the longer bolts.
@@andrewstewart106 Thanks Andrew for the prompt response. Yes that all makes sense and should allow me to progress with the purchase. Wishing you all the best.
Cb500f here just to check this one only needs one screw right because I took two off the original break lever
Unfortunate, you weren't even pushing it or being crazy. Lovely ride, and views!
A bit late to the party but I have the same one and I find it much more convenient mounting it the other way around. That way the magnets are much higher up, the bag is flush up against the tank and I've had no issues running it without any straps, even at high speeds.
