Cabin Logistics In The Rocky Mountains (Ep 32)
if only a person had more time in the day to get a thing done. I'm sure the trappers had it so very difficult in a way which we will never know. The modern day wilderness person now relies on TH-cam as a steady income. It's one way to make a dollar on your own free will. The romance of one against nature shows its ugly side the odd time.... and that's ok.

Ignorance is a matter of what you can afford. Clearly you have more money or you would have taken more precautions with the boat. At this point I encourage you to look at how long it will take to replace the boat in hours of your time... then sit down with a blank book and spend a week making notes about fundamental things like... fire wood.... access in and out.... theft of your stuff if you come back and it is gone. I have lived year round where you are... river access. No matter what you do something always gets the boat... a bear smashes it about smelling fish, a tree falls on ... a porcupine eats the primer bulb.. you hit a rock where there was no rock yesterday .. and yes some times a fk ing azz hole will come by and just let it go down river as he is jealous of what you have. The point of all the notes is have a fundamental plan but have a back up plan for when the original plan goes to shit. If you do not have the back up plan ( a canoe, buried food and guns, three days of dry cloths) in place and safe as gold then it is not if you die out there it is when. OH and rubber bullets are for people that have a big mouth. If you shoot a bear with one he is going to get so pissed you are really going to wish you had thought that one through..... double ot buck, double ot buck, slug. is the loads you need dont stop shooting until it stops moving. If you are looking at a bear 30 yards or less and yell at it and it will not go away get closer and shoot it. A bear that is not scared of humans is not a bear you can live with out there. fwiw. real support is not usually what you want to hear. It is what you need to hear to get to where you are going. keep living the dream... there is nothing more worth living for.

Shawn , you really should start stocking non perishable food and getting wood ready . It's not a matter of if you get stuck, on the property in the wint3r , it's a matter of when . When the snow starts staying , it will come fast and lots of it , and it will hit -30 at least this winter .

Looking at the interior for your small cabin, just an idea, Pallets... We used a lot of good pallets in our 2nd hand store as racking and shelving, once sanded down, the timber was great. If you varnished them as well with the nail holes, it would be rather rustic and cheap too. Just a thought

Shawn , clear the trees for the stark link, you don’t have a working outboard right now you should be focussing on your trail that you can take the four wheeler right to the cabin or at least to the opposite side of the river from the cabin, and if you don’t start putting some work into that four wheeler you have, that’s gonna break down
