In terms of the Febas evolution requirements, the Prism Scale and in turn it's ability to be traded to evolve aren't in the series until Gen 5. BUT, It's actually super simple to evolve it in Platinum even without knowing how Poffin Making works. In Veilstone City's department store, the B1 floor actually sells high grade Poffins. Just 4-5 Bitter Poffins from there is enough to raise Febas's beauty to max. That said though, definitely managing an encounter is the hardest part-
Nice puns! You can still potentially get froslass. After you witness the scene of Barry getting beat up by Jupiter at lake acuity, you can surf to the North west part of the lake to find an area of grass that can potentially have a snorunt. It is rare and even if you find it, it might not be a female one which means it can only evolve into Glalie. But you should try and go for it anyway because froslass is amazing in this game. Stab Shadow ball and boltbeam coverage is incredible for any special attacker. It can outspeed and kill Cynthia’s garchomp without much issue. It also does great work into Lucian and Cyrus battles. I should know, because I used one and it was the absolute mvp. Barboach is an interesting choice. It’s typing definitely carries it. If it got dragon dance by level up instead of egg move, it would be much better. As crazy as it is to say, feebas is not worth going for. If you want a bulky water type, just use Vaporeon or Tentacruel (Wow bulky water types have a lot in common if you know what I mean). Also catching/evolving feebas in this game is a nightmare. And that’s it. I know, not much to talk about today.
You just keep chugging along with these episodes, once again a lot getting done. The northern routes have a lot of strong encounters, at least on paper, but they come so late it's hard for them to put in a lot of work. At least all the ice types can put in work vs Cyrus and Bertha, and maybe Cynthia too. I find it funny you went with Barboach as your Mt. Cornet encounter, instead of saving it for later with the big showdown with Team Galactic, unless the Summit has it's own met location? Also interesting you highlighted Clefairy, since in competitive gen 4 Clefable is a staple on Hail and Sand teams, thanks to its ability Magic Guard which nullifies all indirect damage. So not just weather, but status effects, entry hazards, leech seed, and more. This makes Clefable surprisingly resilient if you were just looking at its stats. ofc there's somewhat less opportunity to take advantage of this in game, but I wouldn't sell Clefable short. Tho, in a nuzlocke you do have to worry about the 50/50 with Cute Charm lol. And I can understand so soon after losing Lickylicky in that tragic mistake, you're not exactly in the market for a bulky normal type. Although, it is kinda funny after two episodes of losing mons on accident, when you actually wanted to sacrifice one it managed to escape totally intact. Maybe Hippowdon gets to join the big boys after all? Probably not haha. Looking forward to clearing out hordes of Golbat in Galactic HQ.
Gen 4 got some nice ice-types! I have rarely used an ice-type on my team but on my 3rd playthrough of the gen 4 games I had a Froslass on my team. I do remember that I was a bit disappointed with it. Now thinking about it, the only ice-types I’ve used are from the Snorunt family😅
1:26 "On my way through, I took an item that boosts the power of moves by 20%. I know if I didn't say what the percentage is, you'd all ask. Actually now that I think about it, everyone ask anyway. Comments are good for the TH-cam algorithm." :P (I've watched way too much MahDryBread to not know the gag by heart) 4:15 Makes me question why they put Whiscash in the dex instead of another Fire type. 4:48 Prism Scale didn't exist in Gen 4, so you HAVE to evolve Feebas by raising its beauty whether you want it or not. 7:18 🤣 15:54 🤣again🤣
maybe add something like "last episode summary" or "what happend previously" when playing clips from the previous episode. Not that it's not clear right now, but would be nice to see an indication! :)
Good question. Honestly I'm just not that creative. I feel like I would also just be using a lot of naming themes that most other Poketubers have already used.

Interesting, I did not know this

Yeah I'm actually not sure about the summit, I'll have to test that to see if it's separate but I don't think it is. I enjoy reading these as always!
man, i really enjoy this lp. it feels like playing my childhood game with a good friend
I'm glad you like it!
Froslass is really suffering from end of the game syndrome.
At least you can use it against the Ground type elite 4 and Garchomp.

Enjoying this playthrough.
I'm shocked you didn't bring up that the traded Haunter doesn't evolve.
Totally forgot! That's such an FU from game freak haha
I like your vids. Thank you :)

I'll definitely keep it in mind
why no nicknames
