    I had the same problem with the ohmic being super unreliable after a couple cuts or when the torch got wet, going to try that direct ground clamp method. I have the ring around the torch as well so I'll try the Romex thing as well if the ground clamp doesn't fix it

    • @OldBarkerRanch1981
      @OldBarkerRanch1981 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Romex definitely doesn't look the best, but it works...

    • @SamCyanide
      @SamCyanide 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm actually working on my table right now trying to figure out how you did this, I have a jumper between my ohmic/material pin and + voltage on the divided voltage output, and then on ohmic/shield I have the wire that goes to the torch head around the collar. Nothing coming out of the electrode/torch negative because that is already wired into the divided voltage negative pin @@OldBarkerRanch1981

    • @OldBarkerRanch1981
      @OldBarkerRanch1981 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I know I had a single wire that ran from the voltage divider all the way to the torch head where I connected it to the Romex. The Romex was isolated from the torch (it only touched plastic).

    • @SamCyanide
      @SamCyanide 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@OldBarkerRanch1981 think I found the issue. My ohmic sensor was touching the shield on my torch. So now I just need to do the Romex trick. Did you just use calipers to figure out the height? It needs to be the same height as the shield so it touches the material at the same time as the torch right?

    • @SamCyanide
      @SamCyanide 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      And how did you attach the Romex? I tried soldering but couldn't get it to stick. I'll try a hose clamp maybe

    Chinese made junk. Took mine apart and cleaned all the tubing of zero oils, cleaned pilot light hole (even with carb cleaner) and nothing came out. The flame is blue, but tiny and useless. In the garbage it goes. Just buy another one since these are not repairable. Mine has a lot more tubing inside it than this one does.

Doing sheet metal repairs with lots of tack welds and from one second to the next it will alternate between perfect flat puddles to boogered up piles with seemingly nothing different. Checked grounds, gas, cleanliness, everything. Today I began suspecting it was an issue in the torch itself even though it doesn't have much use on it. Definitely checking this ASAP. If you didn’t put it I a Mr Buddy heater cover that’s your problem. I been using my Buddy heater with 20 lb for the winter so far so good.

    Good day to you all, you can build your own copper lines for your buddy heater instead of the plastic one. If you know a gas fitter or a plumber they can probably help you out if you're unfamiliar with the process. 👌🇨🇦

      Ya know, I never thought about that! I may just do that! I will put a video up about it when I do! Thanks for the awesome suggestion!!!

      @@OldBarkerRanch1981 hey there, if you're anything like me you hoard fittings like it's the great depression 2.0(which I believe it is). The first one I built was a combination of gas lines from an old camper and the brass end of one of these flex hoses. If you've got access to a lpg detector you can make sure your lines are good after you're done.

      Exactly, yes I have everything need to make my own gas lines and you are on the same track as me. I figured a hard copper line with a short semi-hard/flex line at the bottle. At the very least it would tell us if the oil is in the propane tank or if it is the hose “leaching” as that is the most popular opinion. While a lot of people’s suggestions sound correct in theory, I would like hard proof via process of elimination!

      Copper lines don't flex very good, and are really unnecessary if you set it up correctly with a filter.

    Second that on Beretta being better. I have a couple Silver Pigeons and they never fail. On Autos with your father aging and desiring to go sub caliber, consider the Beretta a400's XPLOR Upland in 28 gauge with a kick off. I also have another a400, a Beretta a400 Xtreme in 20 gauge with kick off in camo for ducks. I'm also well over 65 and there is magic in those softer kicking shotguns. I only own one Benelli and its a first gen. Super Black Eagle, its supposed to be their pinnacle foundation in the SBE lineage but despite nothing ever breaking, it gradually became a reliable nightmare before the term Benelli Click became vogue. I too have an expensive paper weight that is not 100% reliable. Good video on getting the truth out there!

    Can you say what your settings are on the stepper driver? I’m trying to replicate your set up and cannot get my motor to turn. I’m trying to bench test one motor on the bench just to learn. I have no limit switches connected. Thanks.
