Loved this! I was born an raised in Ventura, moved away to other parts of the county for a few years and moved back to Ventura 5 years ago. That abandoned train track goes right past my house about 4 more miles where you left off. Love this place, wouldnt want to live anywhere else. As kids in the 70 and 80s we roamed the entire area from Santa Paula to Ventura beach on our bikes. Been wanting to get a pair of ebikes for my wife and I for a while, this has inspired me to move forward with it. Thank You! You cant beat the weather here, mild Mediterainian weather year round, not too cold in winter, not too hot in summer. Location is perfect too. You could literally go from surfing, to snowboarding, to riding dirtbikes in the desert, all in one day!

As a Ventura native, I burst out laughing on the way you said Carpinteria (simply like Car pin ter e a) and Ojai (o-hi). Also, when you said it was in the 70s and can start feeling the heat coming, that ais the heat you get in Ventura. Like low-80 is lucky as a high at all in the summer... it is in the 70s throughout the summer, especially in the downtown area. Only time it really get warm is if, and a big if, a dead non-breeze day because there seems to always be a breeze on-shore.

Just did this hike last week. It's an amazing, but very short hike. I did the full loop in about 40 minutes, taking a few stops for pictures along the way. The climbing area is only .2 miles long, but straight up. There are 2 areas with steep cliffs, but all of the walkways are at least 2 feet wide, so unless you walk right along the edge, you probably won't get the sense that you're going to fall.

It's not the fear of heights so much as it is a fear of falling...

Congrats!! We were just in Acadia for a week, we didn’t get to this hike although I wanted to. I got a taste of the cliff climbing going up Penobscot though I think I’ll be alright. I’ve had what I thought was a fear of heights, I think now is a fear of ladders falling. Amazing place, we are definitely returning!

Cool video. Im about 15 minutes from Ventura so we're there alot. Compared to my little beach town Venturas big. Theres not a campground anywhere around there we havent rolled into. Nice place.

We went to Alaska in 2016 on a Norwegian cruise and took a helicopter to a glacier for a dog sledding excursion in Skagway. It was scary and thrilling at the same time. ❤. Interesting fact, dog poop needs to be removed from the glacier weekly by the team!!! This excursion cost over $600 per person, but SO worth it!!! The helicopter sound is so accurate when I watch my go pro video back. So cool!!!

The Buena Vista is my to first stop in visiting San Francisco..the best Irish Coffee..too bad the host did not appreciate them !!!!

My two suggestions: - If you're not comfortable using chopsticks, it may sound counterintuitive but holding them closer to the thicker end/the back, rather than the thinner end/the tip, makes them way easier to use. It's about the leverage. How do I know? I'm Asian. - While that dim sum place may have been good, you probably actually want to go to a place that's packed with locals and has carts that ferry the different dishes around. Those are typically really good and much cheaper than an a la carte place. Some hole-in-the-wall Chinatown dim sum places I've been to (via my local Chinese co-workers) have been insanely good and really reasonably priced.

Always love seeing videos of places in my city, sometimes I even find out something new. I will say though if you go to the fortune cookie shop they will sell you that colorful bag without telling you they're selling you the bag since they do cash only, and don't give receipts, they grab what you want and stuff it in a bag and tell you how much. If you bring your own bag save yourself a dollar :)

Is the community spa gone? That was my favorite, partly because you could get in without a reservation. I haven't been in 20 years or so. You should try Ojo Caliente, they have actual natural hot mineral pools.
